KI (kernicterus) is a brain injury from excessive levels of bilirubin from newborn jaundice. This condition, while preventable with treatment, is devastating when it occurs. It is a spectrum of disabilities that can varies degrees of severity for multiple movement disorders, hearing loss, enamel forming improperly on baby teeth etc, GI and sleep issues.
PICK is a parent run non-profit dedicated to education and prevention of KI as well as support and research for families affected by KI.
