It was realistic that he wasn't going to cut his ties with Lucrezia right away. But when he saw that it hurt Clarice, he broke it very off quickly with Lucrezia and admitted that he has been a "fool." In S3, his ex was more of a plot point for his plan. He easily could have slept with her. But he didn't. He stopped it. Cosimo literally brought his mistress to his home right in front of his wife and everyone. He humiliated her. In comparison, Lorenzo genuinely loved and respected Clarice, he would never do that to her....I'm honestly confused as to how anyone can say that Lorenzo is like Cosimo.
Lorenzo Mom’s knows her son best and her pure advice to Clarise was on point in Season 2:4 when she said Lorenzo was spoiled and not use to being denied but he would mature and learn to control his youthful pleasure and not out of obligation but love….❤
This was one of the GREATEST portrayals of a REAL relationship... honest... deceitful... loving... hating... and just as you think they found peace in the end... he ultimately betrayed her and she passed away more alone than had she committed herself to the nunnery... tragic!

Just love clarice . I love contessina as well infact potryal of females is soooo good in this show but clarice was like a pure soul and when she fall for some sins and found out her husband is on wrong path she broke and died . She was his strength .
Anyone else cry after the series ended? Honestly, aside from the tragic deaths and ending of the characters' story, I was devastated to know all the famous artwork I studied in art class was ACTUALLY DESTROYED, like legitimate history. Wow, my art teacher never taught us that.
I cried too. Yes, in school we have like one short paragraph about Medici's history. I was really suprised how they could all of this wrote in one paragraph.
In the real life legend story, I don’t think these two loved each other they only married for politics and power and he loved someone else, but in the show they changed it and they loved each other and I’m glad they did change it they suit a lot!! ❤️

actually, he failed at the prosperity,..because in this time where he ruled, Florence had many problems to face, the ottomans and the burgundy.. too many for him alone. Then he failed to teach his son properly for the future. He was more a king than a financial expert...

Yes. You'd have no problem with starting with s2. It takes places 20 years after s1 (it's about the grandson of the s1 protagonist). Imo s2 is better than s1. S3 will continue to be about Lorenzo.
