      @M_Andras 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it was the wrong decision to swerve to the left, because on the right he had more space, but considering the moose moved to the right at the beginning, It would have been the right decision to go left if the animal continued to the right. So it is ok that he went to left, there is not much time to think about those decisions in situations like this.

      @@michah1896 the radar is exclusively designed to detect very dense objects like cars. Radar would not be able to detect objects like cardboard cutouts, small plastic pylons, children, while adults or animals are very hit and miss and highly dependant on the crosssection they present. Pedestrian warning systems are usually lidar (which this car does not have), camera and/or ultrasonic based systems because of their much higher resolution and reliability with smaller and less denser objects

    Moose: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
    Glad you are ok. I had something similar happen to me about 20 years ago, at night, except there was snow on the road and it was just total luck that the car retained grip when I changed lanes.

    Just to be clear. In Norway, if you hit a moose or similar, you are obligated to call the police. That is if you definitely hurt the animal, or think you might have hurt the animal. The police takes care of calling viltnemnda,or you can call them after talking to the police. The insurance company may check if you called the police if you decide to make a claim. Bjørn checked the vehicle for damage to assess if the animal was hurt. Conclusion was, probably not. I agree with his assessment. To be absolutely clear, Bjørn did what he was supposed to do.

      Atleast in Sweden you should call them anyways, and then they will warn other people on the radio where there is a moose on the road.

      The law is the same in Sweden. Bjørn should have called the police regardless, since the animal was actually struck and there is no real way of knowing the potential injuries.
