It took me a long time to realize that I don't lack willpower, It is the fear of change which keeps sabotaging my progress. I am declaring war on this fear.

Sometimes we have any internal fear of success, not so much change. Why? Because while we grew up we were taught to fear success. Because success usually means pain and mistakes and failures to get it.

Please, dear fellow climber, embrace it, cuddle it and let go. No need for hate and the energy wasted on it. Maybe if we kindly sneak into its secrets, we will gently gain insight and transform it . Silently observing the pain ( doubt sports is the right moment for everyone) and not withholding the fear but consciously letting it go to be followed by a positive emotion as replacement might be a way to consider.
Love to the happy warrior ; - )))

The trailer for Dune: Part 2 was released a few days ago. This is an important quote from Part 1:
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings obliteration. I will face my fear and I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past... I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
I am also struggling with making decisions right now, which will lead ultimately to a change of my current situation. Making the "right decision" is crucial. Of course, I don't know where I will end up one day and I can't foresee further developments, but I hope it will be the right direction/path. I hope that no big disappointment is waiting for me just around the corner, because I experienced a few already.

@@marcfang5429 I like your take on things. About the decision making, I feel like sometimes we just need to make the decision that we feel is probably the best and either cross the bridge or burn it. It will not be perfect and the other path would probably not have been perfect either. We just have to make it work as best as we can. Good luck to you :)

Imagine running a race with numerous heavy weights chained to you. It doesn't matter how motivated, smart, or rich you are, you'll never win as long as those weights exist. We're too focused on finding things to push us further when we should be focusing on consistency and removing the things that hold you back.

I have not visited this channel for a while. A few days ago, this video showed up in my recommended.
This is exactly what is on my mind right now after I graduated a while ago. Now, thanks to this video, I have some form of guidance and I know the first steps.
That something has to change is obvious to myself, but the direction from this point onwards is vague. Hope it gets better over time.

Some nice ideas, albeit seemingly a rehash of existing ideas structured in a new way.
With regards to talking to your future self, one thing I would warn against is imagining the success came via following the "right path" or the "right answer". I would contend that there is no right path and that varying successes can come from any chosen path depending on how you apply yourself. I prefer the notion of small incremental change, discussed in better detail in your earlier video on "The Kaizen Way", but I think it is somewhat contradictory to the - project to the future and look backwards advice. Incremental change is more of an inductive process that allows room for the infinite unknowns in life, as opposed to the more reductive process of reducing your future vision to a set of instructions.

@15 seconds in: Mountains were formed after tectonic plates were broken which resulted in magma rising up in the space between the broken edges - if you should ever wonder when or why the plates broke, you can find it documented - by our ancestors - in hundreds of historic records, written in dozens of languages from all across our Earth - the entire timeline for the long series of breaks is documented - the force that broke the tectonic plates is also documented - by our ancestors - in old records. If you prefer "theories" over documented evidence across 500 years that's corroborated by the geology, you might pause to take a look at your programming and indoctrination and mind control - since you're programmed to believe you're not programmed, you probably won't notice.

The process that the author exposed is really how therapy works. The author propose that you could do it by yourself but I think is also nice to have the help of a professional.

This book is problematic in many ways. but the main issue I have with it is the lack of credibility and credentials of the author of the book. Giving out advice and guidance on how to deal with trauma and mental health is an endeavor fraught with difficulty, and it's very easy to give terrible, harmful advice to vulnerable and struggling people. I've read this book and while it generally follows a particular approach to trauma and mental health, the lack of research, sources, and weak credibility of the author on the topic (she has no professional degree or education in mental health; she has a BA in Professional Writing (yes, that's a thing now)) makes me hesitant to take any of the advice given in this book, or even repeat anything from it. I don't think it should have been a selection for this video. Mental health isn't something that should be left to the whims of a book that "feels right." If this book "spoke to you" that's a sign that you should talk to a professional and not try to be your own therapist.
