Using silent running helps build heat quickly to cook off the caustic. One or two gauge shots will do.

Remember to shift the heart targeting to get the mc dps on them (which you realized later in the vid).

    Oof, close one.
Your hull seems pretty thin, is it? That will be an issue, because the bugs have phasing weaponry and partially bypass your shields, not to mention caustic.
To avoid the tractor beam I would advise to put pips to engines, go full reverse thrust until you notice the goid catching up to you, then boost diagonally towards it and past it, (maybe tap fa off at this point) immediately turn towards it so you see what it does and use full reverse thrust again. If it comes back closer to you, repeat until the yellow glow fades. This makes use of the slow turning speed of the goids. Important thing is to stay out of its lightning firing arc when passing it, as soon as it is forced to start turning, you'll be mostly safe because your momentum should have carried you out of range by the time it has you in its firing arc again.

My build currently has more emphasis on shield boosting than hull, since typically when I lose my shields my modules get wrecked in seconds.
Thanks for the advice, I'm trying new things as I go.

@@LateToTheBeardParty I have done away with my shields, and started using mostly modules for hull, and 2 or 3 for modules.
I have so much more hull, that I can stay in the fight so much longer.
The only time I have run shields is when flying my Cutter. But you have enough utility and module slots to buff both insanely high. However, again I eliminate the shield on it most of the time, and run heatsinks in most of the utility slots.
With how much hull you can get on it, plus heatsinks keeping you from getting hit as much, I can survive longer than using shield boosters in those utility slots.
      Razar.
