Gary my shop is located in North west okla,I usually get my parts from ots in okc some times they have to order them for me. I do a lot of truck work here and your videos help me a lot on the odd stuff I see here.right now I have a velvet drive on the bench
If you don"t have a slide hammer I'll used the 2 inch socket which you need to loosen the nut with a big washer on top and a 10.9 bolt. Just tighten and it's comes off easy. You have to leave the extension housing on though!
Gary your videos are super informative, as a transmission shop owner I find them very useful how did your jet away turn out as I have my first one to do after the holidays
Gary, Where are you located? the jetaway turned out ok, we do all the classic cars around, i probably get a jetaway every couple of months, where do you order your parts from, i get mine from fatsco in NJ. Gary
I know this has been a while, any chance I could get the correct part number for the pump upgrade? I have a 2004 Liberty and I’m in the middle of replacing the engine. I managed to damage the torque converter bushing while replacing the seal and figure it might be a worthwhile effort to upgrade the trans pump.
@@GaryFerraro I'm trying to purchase a used transmission for my 06 Dodge Durango when I call the junkyard they asking me is a 3 or 4 plug...so I called the dealership and they don't have a clue about a 3 or 4 plug so I really need help I don't no..
@@staceyjones2168 Yes, the 42rle comes in different varieties for same transmission.. they are talking about the connections on the left side of transmission 3 or 4. The difference are the plugs and the output shaft splines for the transfer case..

I did one about 4 years ago in a small front loader.

Great video. Will the 42rle converter work with the 604 pump?
Yes, use the 42RLE stator and 604 early pump body and gears
Great video thanks Gary
Tony Mikesell

How about recall these crappy transmissions

when you say upgrade, do you mean using the 604 pump body and gears. The 604 has the thicker gears
Gary Ferraro yes, as you show in the video. Body and gear. I think that is part number 92510
@@geraldgindlesperger7715 Is that part number from Transtar?
Gary Ferraro found one on E-Bay, not sure if that is an original part number. 92510 Mopar A604pump body w/gears 1989&up, 25 teeth, .708” thick.
Do you know where's a good place to find that intermediate shaft, used (52852915AA)? And also the housing adapter (52852986AB/AC)? Thanks!
Where are you located?
Orlando, FL
my e-mail is gsferraro@yahoo.com send me an e-mail and i can give you my reps info if you need parts

Is the 42 RLE transmission a 3 or 4 plug transmission
What do you mean 3 or 4 plug?

The dealership said it's a 42 RLE...but the junkyard saying it should say a 48 or 56
Not a 42 RLE
