Thanks for the review, found it on sale I think I'm gonna buy it. When I'm using manual focus in the gimbal I usually try to just keep the same distance from the subject as I move, like walk the same pace as them. Obviously it will be tough at F1.8 but I've gotten some decent shots that way.
That's definitely a way to do it, but I feel like it's not just a focus issue. Image just feels blurry altogether. And I feel AF should be good enough by now to track a person walking slowly 😄. Thank you for your comment!
Thank you very much! 56mm was on my mind as well but I needed a longer lens because I didn't have anything over 50mm. Would love to know how much more bokeh 1.4 gives you instead of 1.8 though.
I just bought a used Viltrox 85mm. Do you remember if you heard and internal noise when flipping upside down? Mine does it even when mounted on my powered up a7riii.

Good stuff man! Looking at the 75 f1.2. Just picked up the 56mm f1.4 sigma and it’s amazing for portraits.
