I’m 6 days out from my facelift. Excellent “only facelifts” surgeon. I watched so many videos beforehand, but the reality is way more discomfort than the videos will admit to. Not to discourage people but to give a true picture that it is not a walk in the park. This will be my ONLY facelift. Enough said.

Debra Leonard I’m 5 weeks out and still have the tightness in front of my ears, along with muffled hearing. The tightness under my chin is still there but minimized now. Still some swelling underneath my jaw line. Otherwise I am back to all my normal activities, including weight lifting at the gym. Thanks for asking!

@@jniamtuiii Hello doctor. I had a facelift 4 years ago (periosteal detachment of the maxilla with rugin to the infraorbital rim with anchoring of the tissues with resorbable threads). The surgeon pulled too much I think on the tissues, muscles and skin, now I have a joker smile and my cheeks and cheekbones are very short and deformed. The lips go up too much as well as the tissues. Is there a solution to loosen the face, remove the pulls and prevent my lips and cheeks from rising too high and crushing the rest of the face when I smile? Thanks

@@jamiegreer2514 Hi Jamie. I just passed the 6 month mark & I’d like to reassure you. I had a few things going on that were concerning to me. But like my doctor told me, we just cut through skin, muscles, & nerves! You’ve got to give everything a chance to heal. I think for some people it doesn’t take very long to heal and for others, it takes a little more time. I’m a bit older so I fell into that latter category but I can tell you, now, at the six-month point, I am extremely happy with my results. I am SO glad I did it. No more saggy neck, no more horrible bags under my eyes, no more saggy eyelids. And I still look very natural. I will admit I felt like I pestered my doctor quite a bit but she was always very kind and reassuring. She also would have me come into the office so that she could see what was going on and make sure everything was OK. I was very appreciative of her patience with me. So whether you are a slow healer or a fast healer, you are only at 3 days. I wish you good luck although I am sure it’s going to turnout great!

I love seeing the before and after shots of a facelift, makes me dream of having my own if only I had the means. I think the one thing that I notice in all the images I've see, the one thing that has the most striking affect in giving a person a more youthful appearance, is the neck-lift. The years just magically melt away from that one procedure than any other. Compliments to you, Dr. Niamfu, very nice work indeed.

Thank you for making this video. Great info. One thing I might add is that docs should prepare patients mentally ahead of time for the compression garment if they plan to place one on them. I flat out panicked when I woke up and felt like a deaf, swollen human Q-tip. I was so claustrophobic, could not hear or see well because of the eye ointment and the bandages covering my head. The pressure on my ears and forehead was excruciating. The following day a less comprehensive and removable version was placed but that first 24 hours was a living hell. It was a 24 hour straight panic attack. I am at day 7 of recovery now and feeling much better but that was more than discomfort. For me, it was terrifying.

I had a compression bandage and drains for four days and this was like a living Hell. No sleep for those days made it all worse! I was not prepared for that at all. The small one they later give you to wear 24/7 is also uncomfortable especially for sleep. Some improvement should be made with these bandages to make it more tolerable. I am still only sleeping 3-4 hrs at night because of swelling. It is day 8 for me after face and neck lift. My left upper lip has problems and when I eat and talk I look like a stroke victim. The staff says, "oh that's normal" it will improve. I pray that is true. Also one of my eyes will not close all the way after upper lid bleph. This is all kind of scary. I pray these things resolve soon. I wish I had gone to Dr. Joe in Virginia. He has such great bedside manner!

Wow, he could never be a lawyer! haha. You seem very compassionate, I had a rough go of it, didn't really know what I was in for and the first 2 weeks were extremely challenging. He said "he wasn't my therapist" DOC, I WAS 15 SECONDS OUT OF SURGERY WHEN I CALLED, OF COURSE I WAS FREAKED OUT!!! @@jniamtuiii I agree, but that Dr uses small incisions, so you don't have that large incision around the ear. I am just not sure how you can access the muscle properly without that? I had a neck lift 5 months ago and your videos are helping me a lot because I'm very concerned at this time. I bled and next morning they had to do something again in the surgery room bellow one of my ears on the side my eye was completely closed and bruised. This side is way much better now, but the other side is giving me a hard time, because of hematoma first and seroma later. A couple times the doctor used a syringe with a needle tu pull some yellow fluid, but he told me to use warm compresses for this to disappear and to massage the area. I'm doing both, every single day. Today, 5 months after my surgery, this side of my neck has multiple bumps but they are very hard and my neck is very stiff. My ear on this side is numbed from the top to the middle, but the earlobe is painful an additional was pushed to the front of my face when it was rearranged. My jowls are sagging again, too. It seems like that area was not addressed at all. The inflammation behind my ear is there and honestly I don't know if I need more time for the total recovery due to the trauma; that's why I'm waiting to see if I make some improvements, before calling the doctor. Could you, dear doctor offer your recommendations? I will appreciate your words! Thank you!

I had a face/neck lift almost two months ago. I am extremely happy with the results and happy with my fast recovery. I took pain meds for the first 4 days, after that I could put up with the discomfort, but it really wasn’t that bad at all. I got yellow under my eyes and purple around my lower lip, but only lasted a few days. After two weeks I was feeling and looking like a million dollars 🤩🙏🏼.!
The face kinda relaxed a little bit, but I knew that from the beginning. I loved feeling the tightness on my cheeks during the first two weeks, now it just feels normal again, only some numbness on my ears, otherwise everything is great!
I am so thankful, so grateful for having this procedure done, and now I can enjoy my early retirement in style💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

I wasn’t even thinking of having a face lift until recently when I had the wherewithal to do it. Now, as I’m recovering, I know the magic is happening and I’m being patient and following my doctor’s instructions. And, already, no more turkey neck!
