Great points! especially to allow fluctuations with your tinnitus without panicking. The worst thing about this condition is the anxiety of making your tinnitus worse, especially during a spike. Keep the videos coming.

I’m experiencing my first big spike since I developed tinnitus 5 years ago. I don’t know what set this off, but I did find some solace in/ solidarity I guess, from your video. It was very scary the first 36 hours or so as the ever present high pitch tone just became louder and louder. It seemed to have abated a bit today, or at least I’m making some compensations. Good luck to you and everyone else living with this.

Thank you for posting this video.
I have been dealing with a bad spike for the past week or so.
It's been quite distressing and I haven't been able to relax since it started.
It is loud enough I can hear it over things which typically with my tinnitus it is only really loud in quiet situations or when I lay my ear on my pillow.
I am not sure what caused it I am pretty good at wearing my hearing protection when I need to but there are times when I get hit with loud sudden noises at work which I can't always prepare for.

I’m off to see Noel Gallagher next week at Warwick castle if you’ve heard of the place. I’ve got protection and I’m ready to take it on. I think it’s crazy how we start to overcome these barriers for the things we love. It feels really empowering 🤘

I went golfing on a very humid day and when I got home my ears were spiking. I was bummed because I enjoy golfing.

When wearing ear defenders or earplugs the tinnitus seems much louder, do you pipe in music or sound effects to break up the T signal? If so, how?
Thanks for the video, keep ‘em coming 🙂.

Hi 👋. No I just had ear defenders with no music . I prefer it that way . 😊

Jack, good to see u around.
What do you think that really mess up with your tinnitus? Only loud sounds? or is there any other thing?
    Take care

Hi. Yes loud sounds are not good for me. But also stress can trigger a spike as well.

Hi Jack, how do you stay emotionally neutral to your tinnitus when you are travelling through a challenging spike ?Thanks again for the videos.

Hi Gareth I have another video about spikes that I posted a few weeks ago. But the most important thing I do when going through a spike, is to tell myself that I am eventually going to be OK. Because that is always the case, and I’ve been through many difficult spikes. By telling myself, I’m going to be OK., it reduces the anxiety and it helps me stay neutral. But I think if you did watch the other video, it might help explain in more detail what I’m talking about. Hope that helps.

I have a question. As you said you are from Norway and it's kind of winter all 12 month in Norway. So for sleeping you use any white noise machine or any sound device. This question is regarding sleeping with loud tinnitus and winter. I hope your answer can help Thanks

Hi Mohammad. I don’t use masking when I go to sleep. I like to try and keep masking for only really bad periods like a spike

@@thetinnituschannel I’ve suffered my first major Tinnitus spike this April. Since then it’s consistent ringing 24-7. Really really affected me mentally and I didn’t sleep for 9 weeks, it was brought on by a medication. I’ve cancelled my holiday for September as stress was effecting it.
