    Oh I didn’t know Stihl made pole saws, nice video too.

      Yes they do make good equipment. I love the Stihl HT56C pole saw, our Farm Boss chain saws (MS271, MS290) and our Stihl trimmer. Thanks for watching!

    Ouch! I hope you're ok, Chad. That was a big branch. Those are some of the biggest, old gnarly pine trees I've ever seen. They almost look like Fir trees.

      I'm good. They are some huge pine trees! They're beautiful though - it gives the property a nice secluded area feel.

    Watch for falling widow-makers :) That limb saw is one of the most useful tools.

      The limb cutting pole saw certainly is a great tool! You're right though - you do have to watch out for those falling limbs. :)

    that chipper looks like more work than a fire.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching, Jim. We do enjoy a good brush fire sometimes. But the chipper is much more fun to use, and we always worry about the risk of a fire getting out of control.

      @@PurpleCollarLife I hear you….in dry conditions one must be very careful….old barrel with a screen on top works well….depends on jurisdiction.

    I got the same pole saw. You are right, trying to cut too high puts you at risk of receiving a limb. In your case, that was a nasty limb, as it was dry, not flexible, yet heavy. Been there before! Glad you were not harmed. Thanks!

    Good morning Chad, happy to see you didnt get injured from the falling branch. This is one of the main reasons we bought our chipper, the edges of the hay fields have branches growing in and need to be cut with the pole saw. Now i can just chip them as i go! I agree that i cant speak highly enough about Honda power equipment a small investment up front but quality cant be matched.

      I've been perfectly content with the Briggs engines and Kohler engines on other machinery I've had . . . . until now that I've experienced the "Honda difference"! :)

      @@PurpleCollarLife My favorite is my honda 2200i generator, it can run the 15kbtu ac in our 5th wheel and a little more. Got the extended run tank for it, can run the a/c and fridge in the toy hauler trailer for a few days on 6 gallons of gas. Not to mention it is quieter than the air conditioner too!

    Hope that the bruise and goose egg diminish quick. The pole saw is a handy tool as well. The chipper makes disposing of the pruning debris nice and easy around the property as well as on your maintenance jobs. Cheers!

      Thanks for the tip! :). You're right - these pole saws are totally worth it. We only use ours about 2x per year, for a weekend at a time. But it's certainly worth the investment.

    I don’t know that particular chipper, but I suspect the tongue support is to get the hitch at the correct level for attaching to a vehicle. I’d get that support retracted to lower the tongue to the ground, thus making feeding into the hopper much easier and more natural. It would then also aim the discharge higher without the need for the chute in some instances.

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right - the tongue support is to get the height correct for towing around. Thanks for watching!

    I cut a limb like that without my helmet once and got staggered when it hit me on the top of the head.
    I hardly ever cut without a helmet!

      This particular pole saw is just a pole saw. I know there are some other Stihl machines (I think they're called the KombiSystem) that do multiple things.
