Heather I'm so glad you like your hive and I wished we had more time to see your bees. Maybe one day you will post a video on TH-cam. I loved seeing Texas and if it wasn't so hot there I would move..lol..
That was a lot of fun. Thanks. We need to do a video on this big hive down here. I broke it down and moved it after I left your house . Also inverted the lower boxes as the queen wasn't laying in the bottom box. See Ya.
I hope with your good looking hives we my be able to show how nice these hives are for back yard beekeepers. I see you got Brian talked into one and it is so nice. I love the burned wood look.
Wow Rickey that's the Lamborghini of horizontal hives!! You really do a great job!! I'm sure the bees are glad to get out of that Buick and into that thing! Thanks for sharing friend!
@@horizontalbees I've enjoyed watching the success you've had with your hives Rickey. It's well deserved Friend. 16hrs for me today. I'm pooped! Y'all have a great night
@@horizontalbees I watched Amber's school project video earlier. She did a great job. I wish I had bees back then. I took things like rocks for show and tell🤣 I give Amber an A+!!! She did a great job. Y'all have a great weekend friend!
@@beesandtractors LOL.. I just forgot my home work..lol.. She does get a A+ and I'm hoping she will give me YOUTOUBE lessons!! hehheeh You have a great weekend also!!
Thanks Brian for watching my videos!! You should have no problem building excluder frame after you built that nice hive. If you just don't have time to build one I could send you one for free.
Showed this to my husband, we've been discussing which hive to go with....."when" we get around to adding Bee's here.....getting are new egg layers, and cornish cross meat birds soon😉
I can't wait to see Your new chickens!! When you get bees if you have time to build a horizontal hive you will enjoy how easy it is to use. You and your family are so talented!!! God bless you my friend!!
Any chance of an updated video this summer showing the bees dropping honey into the Flow frames? My concern with horizontal Flow style hives has been, would the bees actually fill them in a horizontal configuration, so if it worked for you, please show us.
We will do a video on this hive many times this year. I think some of the auto frames next to the out side wall will not get complete filled this year. If I had to guess they would keep filling the first 4 if I drain them and not touch the last 3 auto frames. So I'm going to try and be calm and not touch the frames unto late fall to see what happens. So keep watching and we will see if I'm wrong. Thanks for your great comment!!
@@horizontalbees - Maybe try once they fill out the first 4, doing what you'd do in a regular super or even brood box, rotate the unused frames inside, and hopefully once they've all been used once, they will now no longer avoid the far outside ones.
@@lialos Now that is a great ideal and I know it would work. Can't wait to get back in the easyflow horizontal hive to see how they have been doing. I would like to use your name on the next video would that be okay?
Hey I dream, horizontal hives are very easy to use and are great way to save your back. Many people build there own because of there simple design. This easy flow is just a little harder to build but the benefits of having a hive that needs no extractor can save some money. The impact of having to get into the hive is also reduced and saves the honeybees time in rebuilding comb that is destroyed in each inspection and honey harvest. This hive is not necessary for everyone, but just gives a beekeeper a easy way to keep honey bees. Sorry for the late response. Thanks for your comment!!
Sure can Darien, any thing you need just ask my friend. The price of wood has gone up but you can build one for 200$ (maybe a good dad son project). Now this hive holds 32 frames and this is equal to 3 deep boxes. The horizontal hive helps with no heavy lifting, and this helps with a old guy like me. LOL. I can help give you some info on the measurements you will need and this would be great for your you tube channel to grow. Here is my email roarkrickey@gmail.com If you choose to build one. Keep your good videos a coming.
