Those of us who grew up watching Roy, Dale, Pat, Trigger and Bullet were pretty darn lucky. I guess Roy was my first film hero. I don't think I ever missed a show.
Roy Rogers and his beautiful wife Dale are up in heaven with Jesus. Probably in a heavenly ranch with Trigger and Bullet. Lol...they are truly missed!!
Thanks so much for posting! As a youth in the 60’s, our family would frequent the Roy Rogers museum at its original site in Apple Valley, Ca., prior to going up to our cabin in Big Bear Lake. I remember on one visit to the museum, me and my siblings and our four cousins were admiring the artifacts at the museum, then here comes my Dad walking with Roy Rogers. Til this very day I still remember all of us kids looking up to him in awe. Three minutes later, here comes my mom with Dale Evans. Magnificent memories that I will cherish forever. Rest In Peace in Gods loving arms Roy and Dale.
I always loved The King of the Cowboys Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and Pat Brady. I enjoyed going to his Museum, and looking over his personal property. I have great admiration for his honestly. God Bless the Rogers Family.
I was lucky to visit the museum in 1993, no Roy or Dale that day but Trigger, Bullet and Buttermilk were there to see. Great place, too bad they couldn't keep it there, money always wins out!!!
it is sad that with so few left to remember these times on TV or movies,the museum has been closed and some stuff is no longer together..roy,dale,trigger,buttermilk and bullet..may you all RIP
Once you split up a collection like this, it will never come together again. And the next generation won't even know why their parents or grand parents bought something from the museum and may even throw it away. Such is how fast fame and fortune vanish.
I grew up in the 60s watching reruns of Roy Rogers, I wish his films were being restored to clear quality. The story lines in his movies for the most part are quite good and underrated, lot of movies are in the mistaken identity theme, which is still used in todays shows and movies.........
When they had a great sense of humour cared about community and helping people in desperate need with good moral values that they stuck to .Made a much better community to live in. Cheers
I remember going to the Victorville museum as a kid for a school field trip in the 90s . When they close it down in the 2000s all I cold think was what a historical loss for the town. They used the space for a carlot, and I think some burger place. Such a shame

I'm 22. I think I'm one of the few Millennials that have a clue who he is. Such a shame. Love all those old Western stars. We had just saved up enough money to go to the MO museum when it closed. We were heart broken. I also know about Rin Tin Tin and love it. But that one is really hard to find.
X'ers knew about him- and the chicken restaurant that had his name! But most X'ers don't care about Westerns or Roy Rogers. Millennial's are the ones who don't know who Roy Rogers was, mostly, there are going to be some, but yeah, those in their 40's and 50's in the 2000's and 2010's (X'ers) we know who he is, but aren't that big a fan, it was our parents who were the fans, that's why we know about him.
At the time of Triggers death, we were boarding his grandson on our SE Pa. farm. Still a stallion, he gave the girl owner a hard time...I rode him at times, before he was trained, interesting! Carlcatt22
We came from a Canada vacation, boss said "real bad emergency surgery". Patient was Roy Rogers. Great guy and funny even during the emergency. Surgery went good. I told Dale Evans he was fine. Dale said, "Thank you son and God bless you". Then kissed me. Very sweet lady. I'll never forget them.
Even in the 1980's, most of the museum visitors have grey hair. Sad. I was talking to a 45 year old yesterday, and he had no idea who Roy Rogers was. An age has passed.

I was station at George Air Force Base in 1961to 1963 and went to the museum and still think about about him.

His museum was shut down just a short time ago. Lack of interest I assume. Too bad. Just another nail in the coffin of my childhood!
I passed his museum many times on the way to L.A. but kept saying next time, and then it closed. Just a reminder to not put things off.
