@@Tracymmo You cleary can't rehearse a horrible voice into a beautiful voice that God's Holy Spirit gave them. You can't give yourself anything that God's Holy spirit gave each of us. I could never be a brain surgeon or a musician or scientist. I didn't make myself be an adrenaline junky and love danger and the chance of being burned alive on every forest fire I went to by myself on a bulldozer for the florida forest service for 20 years, years ago. I never knew I was like that until I took the job for alternate reasons and had no idea what the job was about until it was too late in training. and I instantly fell in love with the adrenaline rush drug and the terror and fear of the flames and I could not stop. It can't be beat. wanting to poop your pants because of the intense fear and excitement and adrenaline rush was unbelievable and I had nothing to do with it. It was given to me at conception by God's Holy Spirit.🤪🤪🤪 1 Corinthians 12:11

Roy, and Dale were good people ... excellent people in every way possible. How lucky we were to have such people, such great talent, honest and true people to look up to when we were young.

if they were such good people, then why did God have to send his only Son, Jesus Christ to die on a cross to save them and you and me and the world from our sins??? "for no one is righteous, no not one." "for by God's Grace we are saved through FAITH, NOT by Works, so that no one can BOAST of their SALVATION."

and then it happened. Bibles and prayer were taken out of schools and government buildings. and then the big bang theory was created to take away from God and his creation and millions of living things were created in a pond of water full of super creative intelligent algae, germs, bacteria and mold that designed millions of different types of millions of living things and to top that off, it created the atmosphere and the elements and vegetation and gravity and tilt of the earth at the precise distance from a star that gave heat and made the planet rotate one revolution in 24 hours for all of the creation to live and function and survive or to be part of the ecosystem and all of the clean pure water and salt water for those creations to live in. 🙄after Adam and Eve sinned against God, then Sin entered the world and they were thrown out of the garden of Eden and then sin was the wages of death."for the wages of sin is death" but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. And the rest is history. 🙄

what Bible do you read. better read the last few chapters in the Book of Revelation. Eternity will not be about any of us or what we have done. It will all be about Jesus Christ who died on a cross to save us from our sins. Since everything that we have has been given to us by God's Holy spirit there is nothing we can boast about because pride is a sin and won't be in the new Heaven and New earth. 1 Corinthians 1:29-31
      New Living Translation
29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. 30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. 31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:11
      New Living Translation
11 It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have." According to 1 Corinthians 4:7-12 and Ephesians 2:9, if everything we have is given to us by God, then we should not boast about it as if it were not a gift. The Bible says, "What do you have that God hasn't given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?" It also says, "It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself".
Some say that when we are tempted to boast, we can ask ourselves, "What do you have that you did not receive? Why then are you boasting?" We can also remember the cost Jesus paid to give us everything we need for life and godliness.
Others say that God gives us gifts to point others to Him and help us grow in our dependence upon His Holy Spirit. They say that when we take a step back and see all that God has done, we can praise Him and lift Him up.

In elementary school, there were a couple of us who would sometimes wear our official Roy Rogers shirts [w/ the fringe] to school & everyone liked them as there wasn't anyone that didn't like the Roy Rogers Show. *wish I had kept just 1 of those shirts; it'd be framed & hanging on my wall for sure! Here was a well polished production, very complex, done with professionalism by all. This is back when such things were done live, in one take, and unedited--it was live, perfect the first time. I wonder how old they were here--they looked and sounded great into their old age, you'd be surprised to find how old they were here. People don't know how Roy lived his life--he was so accomplished in many areas--he was an avid hunter, shooter, he would decide to enter a trap-shooting event for example, and at days end he would often be a finalist, one of the last competitors, shooting against professionals who did little else but shoot trap. He may not always win, but he competed against pros and made it look easy.

That was great, thanks! In my "baby book", my mother recorded that when I was about 4-5 years old I wanted to "be" Roy Rogers when I grew up. She said I was okay until sometime later when I learned there could be only one...Roy Rogers. She was right. haha.

In 1932 Leonard Sly, Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer formed a trio and called themselves The Pioneer Trio. In 1935 Sly now known as Roy Rogers went solo and began his highly successful movie career. Nolan and Spencer hired brothers Karl and Hugh Farr and became The Sons of The Pioneers. Because of their association and friendship with Rogers they were also signed to appear in most of the Roy Rogers movies. In 1936 Tim Spencer left( returned in 1938) and Bob Nolan recruited Lloyd Perryman . This line up was the most noted and recognizable and were together for several years. Bob Nolan retired in 1947 and was replaced by Ken Curtis as lead singer. Curtis later played Festus Hagen on Gunsmoke.

I dressed as Dale Evans for Halloween when i was about 6! I thought I was totally cool. Good role models for us to have. They were good people. Angel Unaware was the first book I ever read that wasn't one of those dumb books we were given at schools about Dick and Jane and their dog Spot. I later became drawn to working with those with developmental disabilities and especially worked with a performance group as a Director of young adults who had Downs Syndrome called Movin' On. I have to think learning so young about Robin Evans planted a seed in me when I may have been only 10 years old or so. I think I should find a copy and give it to my 8-year old grandaughter who has just read all the Harry Potter books! A bit more advanced than I was at 8. . .

Recall seeing Roy /Dale on Hee Haw circa 70-80s. Boy, they were great. Nice seeing what country music used to be. Not sure what the end result is with current genre of country music. Just watch the Opry Show. Can't have country music and Opry in the same sentence any more.
