- To my knowledge, "The Cisco Kid" was the first television series filmed in color, beginning in 1950. This is a black and white print of the original opening, commercial, and closing to "The Cisco Kid" from the first season.

I was 5 years old, when I saw this program with my parents, I have some good memories. now after 45 five years, TH-cam makes me feel like if I where child again, with this video.
I was- maybe 3 - and in hospital in Deniliquin, Australia...close to death with asthma; music from Cisco Head one of my earliest memories. Fifty two years ago...

Back when cowboy westerns were very popular. Even in the mid-1960 era, these were still showing. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans show, and a number of horse-theme attractions began to blossom like madness after the "Cisco Kid" completed it's run. These were happier times for most of us.

"The Cisco Kid was a Friend of mine" was a song in the '70s. Duncan Renaldo WAS a friend of mine in later years. Living in Camarillo CA., Mr Renaldo would bring his Chrysler Imperial to the dealership where I worked and I would do the servicing. My son Erik C. Andersen and I have visited Mr. Renaldo when he lived in his last home in Santa Barbara CA. He was a fine gentleman.

I watched the Cisco Kid when I was about 4-7 years old. I remember it fondly. Fortunately, it showed up on my local cable channel on an oldies station. I'm hooked again. Do people know that Pancho Leo Carillo) became mayor of his town in Califormia? Oh Pancho Oh Cisco! Aha!
The Cisco Kid was one of the first TV shows I saw back in the early 50s. Carillo was, I believe, 65 when the series started. And you are correct, he was quite accomplished.
When I was about 5 years old (1952 or 53) Cisco and Pancho cane to Chicago and made an appearance at the circus... they were introduced... came out, waved , said hello and left...I don't remember a thing about that circus (my 1st circus) but I remember Cisco and Pancho! I even had a Cisco Kid lunchbox... thanks for the memories.
from 1951-1963 Duncan traveled the country appearing as the Cisco Kid.
I remember watching these old westerns before the Saturday morning cartoons came on, back in the 60s. The Cisco Kid, Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Wild Bill Hickok, Hopalong Cassidy, Sky King. Good times for a kid back then.
Me too - Sky King was my favorite...the cowboy that flew an airplane!

Leo Carillo is my great-great uncle on my grandpa's side!!!
The Carrillo family was very important in the early days of L.A. dating back to the Ranchos. The very last episode of the radio show "The Roamance of the Ranchos" focused on the family.

I was in Puerto Rico in the early 50' and I watch the episodes at 4pm from Monday through Friday.
fantastic watched it all those years ago I am 68 now and I was 5 when I watched it.
And there was always that footage of Cisco and Pancho riding by a tree that looked like a giant piece of broccoli. ☺
I watched The Cisco Kid when I was a boy back in the fifties. It was on the BBC, the only TV station we had in those days and was in black and white. Happy days.
Loved them then; love them now. The show was so forward looking that it holds up even today. Taught us tolerance, respect and a whole lot more. Not too much shooting. Fables with a moral lesson and lots of laughs.

Duncan Renaldo appeared at a shopping center in Indianapolis when I was a kid. My mom and Grandma took me to see him. I got a kiss on the cheek and I remember that my Grandma was as excited or more excited than me about it.
I'm 70, and I think this was one of the earliest of many TV series here in the UK, I remember.
We watched this at Saturday morning pictures and I think on TV in the 50s Great times

I was born 1950. I grew up watching all this when the Saturday morning lineup of kids shows was really great. Howdy Doody, Captain Kangaroo, Mighty Mouse, Fury, Sky King, Range Rider The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers Show, etc.,etc. Gee whiz what a fun fest it was, and all those great toy commercials in between, you know, the ones you just couldn't live without, and the ones about which you would drop heavy hints to your parents for your birthday or Christmas. Wowee Zowee and I remember that most of the time that I was taking all this circus in I was knocking back a huge bowl of Kelloggs Sugar Smacks or maybe Sugar Frosted Flakes. Notice the especial emphasis on the word "sugar"? Yeah about the time the sugar started kicking in and I was speeding real good, I would jump and grab my cap gun six shooters and be shooting it out would with the bad guys side by side with the Range Rider. Boy I really gave 'em hell! The living room would smell of gun smoke, and I have to tell you that extra energy from all that white sugar really made the difference! I survived the bad guys, but I didn't escape getting some cavities in a few teeth from all that refined sugar! Later on in my early 20s I became vegan and eating organic with no refined junk food in my diet and it has really paid off, but it is fun remembering those lazy hazy days of the 1950s when everything seemed AOK and good for you too. After all didn't the commercials tell me so? They wouldn't lie to an innocent kid and his mother...would they?
Make that 60. And I love it, too.
Never missed a movie of The Cisco Kid westerns where I came from and South Dakota we're all us kids watched

And the actor for Pancho actually *was* born in the Old West - he was *70* at the *start* the TV series(!) And family relatives were involved in the Mexican-American War.. Leo's great-uncle José Antonio Carrillo, successfully defended Alta California during the War against superior US forces (up to a point). Afterwards, he was 3-time mayor of LA - in the US. The TV series was a direct continuation of the film series of the 5 years previous which had the Joker (of 1960's Batman) as Cisco. They *did* use Spanish at least once during the TV series run - other than "adios, amigos!"

The sponsor in this clip Weber Bread was "Butternut Bread" in Chicago. The jingle's tune was the same, but the words were "Tut-tut, nothing but Butternut Bread". I observe that the jingle is actually incorporated in the last few seconds of the episode. It is interesting that, unlike say, the Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid is set in the "New West" starting to make the transition to civilization with late 19th, early 20th century technology starting to make appearances. Great series, great cast!

Beginning of show always had announcer say "Here's adventure! Here's romance!" What romance? Cisco and Pancho never scored with any babes. ♣ BTW tho he played a goofy sidekick as Pancho, Leo Carillo was actually a very wise investor who was extremely wealthy at time of his death despite low pay TV actors got back then. Lots of stuff in San Diego area is named after him. ☺

40's. "Pancho" Carillo was probably older than the actor of his counterpart "Gordito" in the 1931 movie and actually *was* born in the time of the Old West.

@SakuraBear77 whats your grandpas name? because leo is my grandfathers brother,and i think there was 7 kids all togather,i think leo was the 4th or 5th child from their parents.not sure,have to ask my mom,which leo is her uncle. dont know much about leo,they [the family,and leo]didnt talk ,after my granfather quit vaulville and became a batist christian.. instead of the religion the family wanted him to be,which i think is [was]cathlic.

Leo Carrillo must have been at least 69 when they started filming this show in 1950. Seems like it would have been challenging to ride the horses and do the fight scenes but maybe not!
