The roses and hydrangeas this year will be going inside my unheated garage. Last year, the ones I lost were all planted in huge terracotta pots. This year I’m not taking any chances by leaving outside😅
I use inexpensive landscape fabric for the bottom of pots. I set the pot on the fabric and either trace a line around the bottom and cut the shape or just cut around the pot. It lasts for years and can be reused.

Sedums does not like fertilizing or too much moisture they are drought tolerant plants don’t over fertilize or water them, on the other hand hydrangeas love moisture the more the better but use thicker pots to over winter them

That other hydrangea with pink flowers looks is a Quick Fire Hydrangea. Really pretty lacey blooms.

Why are you choosing to overwinter in a pot rather than the soil?
The plants that I currently have grown in pots all season will remain in their pots over the winter.
