    Your garden is beautiful! Great job Tracy and thank you for sharing your beautiful flowers with us. I am a hydrangea lover. I have 23 hydrangeas which are 8 panicles (1 little lime punch, 4 strawberry sundaes, 1 quick fire fab, 2 little limes), 8 blue Endless summers, 3 pink Endless summers, 2 Strong hearts, 2 purple romances. Here in zone 8A with a crazy heat, I have to work so hard to keep them thriving and thank God, they have a lot of blooms every year. Each normally has about 20+ blooms and they make me super happy whenever I take a walk around my yard.

    Hi Tracy I have been home with the flu for a week,,watched every single one of your videos..This one is one of my favourite your hydrangeas are so colourful and beautiful the seem to come alive ,absolutely in love with every single one of them..I live in St.Catharines Ontario not too far from you and I have bought quite a few of hydrangeas like yours not one of them is doing that great.. Maybe because it is the first year,do you think they will pick I give them a lot of loving care fertilizer when it’s needed bought the same as you use .Used coffee in the spring and fall ..Will see what happens next year.."
    Tracy I have another question I have three big leaves hydrangeas and last year I didn’t know any better so in November 2020i cut them quite short and in spring of 21they were bloomin in may already..this spring they got burned by the spring storm we had and they only flowerd once,,but then in September they got some shoots ready to flower what is your advise…

    Gorgeous as always.😍 So I went out last week to take another good look at the 2 LL and 1 LL Punch and sure enough the LL Punch is now more of a cranberry punch color as the LL is more of a dark mauve. I guess they got it right.😂 It's so confussing when its your first time and I have so many varieties. Will be planting them all this week as we had our last 80° here in the PNW Sunday and now the wrath of fall is definetly here this week going down to the 60s and 40s at night. It's been a great extended summer but our plants need this much needed rain coming up. Thank your for sharing your beautiful garden Tracy.😍

      I agree…it’s not easy to spot the difference…especially when you have not seen the original in-person before. Glad PW did not mix up the labels for you. I had a few plants that got labeled wrong so I know what l that’s like. Happy planting Mary!

      In zone 9, you may have to make sure they get some shade to survive. Hydrangeas are my absolute fav plants in the garden and I would be so unhappy if I didnt get to plant hydrangeas in the garden.

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I water each plant about 4 gal twice a week in the summer. But this year I reduced the watering to 1 a week in august and stopped watering in September and thankfully they are still ok. This is the first year I’m trying to water less and so far so good.

    In Zone 7a we don't get the vibrant red colors on our panicle hydrangeas. I guess our nights are too warm. Proven Winners confirmed this theory. I still enjoy my Little limes, Limelights and Bobos. Thanks for another awesome video. I WILL be planting some of the Little Lime Punch hydrangeas this fall.

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lene,
      In zone 7, it may be better to plant Fire Light Tidbit. It blooms later and will be able to color better for your zone in late October-early November. I agree about the colors not developing on the earlier blooming hydrangeas in zone 7…night temps are too warm…

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Flo,
      I only give them some compost in early spring and fall. Hydrangeas don’t get any other fertilizers.

  • @greenthumbelina7331

    Tracy, your Little Lime Punch hydrangea looks wonderful! I purchased a very stressed, half=priced, Little Lime Punch hydrangea about a month ago. It only had 3 brown blooms and a couple of leaves. I removed the blooms and left the leaves, it still looks terrible, however, there are now several new leaves! I'm hopeful it will survive the winter and put on new growth next spring. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I plan to add a good layer of leaf mulch around the base of the plant. ~Margie🤗🍃🍁

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Margie,
      I would throw a good 2-4” layer of mulch/compost on top of it. Our zone 5 garden will be a good ultimate test for “weak/sick” plants. I have lost a few panicle hydrangeas due to their poor health going into fall…so the xtra mulch will definitely go the extra miles to help it survive our cooler norther winter. I do hope this winter will be warmer than the previous. All the best Margie.

    Was just thinking about you Tracy! I'm wanting to plant some tulips in containers and figured I should search through your videos for some tips - I don't have a garage so was thinking about putting the planted pots in the shed, what do you think? BTW that hydrangea is lovely. Have a good day, regards from Bradford.

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pauline,
      Yes, the shed will be best for the pots. I planted some bulbs last fall and it was the rats that dig up all the bulbs and killed them. Luckily they left some bulbs so I was able to get some blooms. This year, I will be planting them in pots and take them to store in our cold zoom. I’m not taking any chances this year. All the best Pauline! 💚

    Love yours. I have planted a hedge of these in my front yard but only one bloom. Planted last year and they are growing. We lost a family member and elder care issues so I didn’t get a chance to fertilize in spring. Could this be why they did not bloom? In Montana planted in full sun and zone 5 and over 10 planted. Appreciate any advice you can offer.

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarahedex,
      I don’t fertilize any of my hydrangeas and they bloom well.
      I think your plants didn’t plant because it was over fertilized before you planted them in ground. This happened to mine when it took it home from the nursery in early summer of 2021. It did not bloom for me that year. In late fall of 2021, I transplanted in ground and it bloomed for me this year.
      If your garden is in need of some extra fertilizer, I would it it some general 10-10-10 all purpose fertilizer for perennials or one for roses…but remember always give it 1/2 strength…as hydrangeas prefer less food than roses and clematis plants.
      Hope that helps.

    Will lime punch do well in zone 9a getting 3hrs.of morning sun and shade the rest of the day?

    • @TracysHomeGarden
      @TracysHomeGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3 hours of morning sun may not be enough and you may not get a prolific show of blooms. I would say to give it a try because every space is different and if things don’t work out you can always move it to another location that gets a little more sun? But in your zone, morning sun is best for hydrangeas. 💚
