I have done this before I did use the school glue but I did a heavier amount and smaller brush strokes. All I had was a hairdryer at the time it took a while to dry but it did crackle and looked good. I decoupaged on it afterward. I think the hairspray would be easier thanks for that tip. The results of the Elmers is beautiful and school glue is a lot cheaper than hairspray. Stock up with the back to school sales - you can get a bottle for less than a buck! ~ Linda
You can read minds! In one of your last videos you started to use hair spray laquer for making crackles. And in earlier videos you used school glue for that. Now you showed them side by side which answered my non-put question "What's the difference?" Now I know.

I never used hair spray but I used the glue 😊 thin layer of glue gives you smaller crackles and a thicker layer of glue gives bigger crackles ... Is fun to play with ... Just work in small sections and dry the paint between each section ... Hope that helps 😊
Very neat technique with the glue. The hairspray effect is much like the Home Decor crackle effect. Except a whole lot cheaper. However, I went looking for hairspray at Walmart and found none. Weird. Guess I'll check DG and DT.
What's your best suggestion for taking paints/stenciled prints of glass? I've got jars with little house and such (circa 1980's) that I'd like to remove.

Hi how are you doing today I had texted you so time ago to see how you make your chalk paint I haven't tried it but what I wanted to now do I need to sand off the furniture before I can paint it with the chalk paint
Most of the time with chalk paint no prep is needed. If it is a laminated piece of furniture I would sand . Test a small area first. Thanks for watching

I’ve never tried the hairspray. Glue is my favorite! I’ve gotten the glue thick in some areas and love the different effect

not very long as soon as it starts to dry
Gesso would also help the paint adhere to the glass.
