I have done this before I did use the school glue but I did a heavier amount and smaller brush strokes. All I had was a hairdryer at the time it took a while to dry but it did crackle and looked good. I decoupaged on it afterward. I think the hairspray would be easier thanks for that tip. Thanks for sharing all that you do I really enjoy watching and learning.

You can read minds! In one of your last videos you started to use hair spray laquer for making crackles. And in earlier videos you used school glue for that. Now you showed them side by side which answered my non-put question "What's the difference?" Now I know.

Most of the time with chalk paint no prep is needed. If it is a laminated piece of furniture I would sand . Test a small area first. Thanks for watching
Very neat technique with the glue. The hairspray effect is much like the Home Decor crackle effect. Except a whole lot cheaper. However, I went looking for hairspray at Walmart and found none. Weird. Guess I'll check DG and DT.
