The graphic at 1:30 perfectly illustrates what’s so wrong with traditional dynamic entry. The 1 AND 2 man fail to even check the center where the threat is because they’re focused on the corners exclusively. It isn’t until the 3 man comes in that a barrel even covered the center. You see this repeated over and over again. This tactic got a lot of guys killed in the early GWOT. We keep reverting back to this though. It’s origination comes from HRT work during the 80s and 90s, it’s not the best option if the lives of your assaulters are important to you at all. Without peeping the room with flash bangs any prepared enemy will make you bleed.

It depends on the situation. If the threat know that your team is coming from that door, you lost the surprise principle, and honestly, checking 12' first wont make it better. On the other hand, if someone is waiting for you at the corner and you don't check the corner first, that single threat have the opportunity to shoot down the entire team, while you are all checking the 12' first.

@@CtrlAltBruno First off, you can't reliably KNOW you have surprise. You don't all have to check the 12 o'clock on the way in, but the first man needs to clear it as he enters that doorway. The effectiveness of doing a partial clearance from outside of the threshold is obvious because you can clear 75% or more of most rooms before you enter the room. If you think or know the enemy is aware that you're coming in, then you have to prep the room in some way (typically with a grenade of some variety) otherwise you will likely take casualties with either method.

Finally. A TH-camr who delivers concise quality information on dynamic entry and points of domination. Please do another version specifically tailored to two man teams. Thank you.

Very informative! Could you do one of these but talking about different entry methods for teams of differing sizes. Like a 2 person team or larger teams like 6+ people

How would the entry pattern change if a bad guy starts shooting? Should the goal remain for everyone to move to designated positions? At least along the entry wall?

Snack technique, works best behind a shield.

So the 3rd man is faster than the bullet ? The enemy will fire at the entry team since the point man goes through the doorway.

Scott did you guys do dynamic at night only for white light situations and/or adjust to a slow and deliberate/threshold assessment for under NODs?

the faults you find with limited pen only exist if you do not do a threshold assessment and clear 90 percent of the room from the doorway. the upside of limited pen is that you do not needlessly expose yourself to danger areas by running a cookie cutter play of running the wall, as you will rarely run into rooms that are the same as the ones designed in your shoot house. limited pen after a threshold assessment can help the whole team assess the room and address it as it is, not as you hope it will be, as you run through the door and pray there isent a belt fed behind some sandbags to send you and your 3 friends to meet jesus.
