Always enjoy your videos! I am a FX Crown Synthetic .30 caliber owner since this past June. What a rifle. I live on the edge of West Texas and on a hill which was the reason I went with a .30 caliber. As a small critique, would you please give more information on your airgun/rifle like you did in this one? Hope you had a good visit in our country! It was an honor to have you visit!
Welcome Matt, looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad that you showed the damage that these little pest can cause, and that was just a small fraction of the permission. Those .30 cal can sure do some damage. Anyways really enjoyed, keep them coming.
Absolutely LOVE hunting with air guns. My old Beeman with two barrels (.17 and .22) has given me more fun over the years as my principle squirrel gun of choice. Always wanted to try one of the big bore air guns..
Where we live, those dangerous rodents are called Prairie Dogs. And they're dangerous for the diseases they spread and if you have to put a horse down because of them, you'll be after them with a vengeance. Thanks for sharing your vids! Appreciate it very much. Take care and Fantastic shots your way!
Good hunting over there, it was a long time from the Rocky Mountain airgun challenge you must be very busy with trips and stuff, as always great videos Matt and thanks for sharing
I'm not claiming that the Athl9n is better than Nightforce. But I have an Athlon on my long range gun and it was supposed to be temporary. I love it so much I've left it on and will get another for my next rifle. If you're in the market Athlon will not disappoint you especially for the money, and the warranty is killer!
Howzit Matt. Wish I was there in the US hunting with you. Sadley, I am sitting at my desk working, back in Durban. Keep the flag flying buddy. Proudly South African. Ps. Don't forget to watch the Boks vs AB's this coming weekend.👍
A go pro is a little more rugged? You can literally drop one out of the stratosphere and it'll be fine, but you look at an iPhone screen funny and it'll crack
When you say that its cheaper to shoot that .30 impact rather than a rimfire is wrong. A box of 500 .22lr costs about the same as 150 .30 cal pellets, not to mention that you prob have about 3500-4000 into that gun. You could build a really nice .22lr for 1000-1500, and get more ammo for the money as well. Airgun hunting is fun but its a really expensive hobby if you get into the higher end pcps.
You are correct, I looked it up and went from 22 where I get my jsb, and switched to 30 cal, didn't notice the volume drop. Ha! I admit to being wrong then, but by like 1 cent a round.
Yeah you are completely right. However, it is the caliber that usually gives the best groups. I recently found out how expensive it was to shoot.30s so I have backed off to shooting . 22. The beauty about impacts is the ability to switch calibers.
Kick any low slung cactus in those flip flops yet? That'll be a first and last time. Oh my... Anyway, welcome back to the US, happy varmint shooting and hope you have a great rest of your trip here! Look forward to more carnage.
Did you say this doesn't cost much🤦♂️. It cost more. Being a kid again though is priceless:) So we buy $1300 perfect BB guns and put $3000 night vision on them. Well I do anyway🙈
A lot of people just don't know how deadly these vicious animals are. These men are heroes putting their lives on the line for all you Animal Rights complainers. They may very well have saved your child from certain death at the deadly claws of one of these prairie dogs.
Woodruff Qin This was ironically meant, Woodie ! I have absolutely nothing against pest control, but where these guys were shooting, this didn’t have absolutely nothing to do with that ! Down in the green pasture I would agree, but in the dry hillside, there is no concurrence for livestock at all ! ( and don’t tell me it’s so dry because of the prairie dogs eating all the grass roots !). No Sir, in this footage it’s obviously just killing for joy ! Since it’s not illegal, the only aspect these guys have to deal with, is their conscience... but what upsets me, is this hypocritical manner of not assuming honestly what they actually did ! Be a man and just say straight ahead that you just kill because this is exciting you !
I love your footage. I have a 40 ft lb Daystate Airwolf with licence of course.I use her very regularly even though she is very much on the heavy side. I am in the UK so 12 ft is all we can have normally. Accurate shooting is the key. I do very much envy you guys. Keep up the good work.
علي مراد ALI MURAD الهوائيات only if you’re hunting for food then yeah it makes sense to use a caliber that’ll cause less damage to preserve the meat, but for pest elimination use an rpg if you can😄
Well consider this. Those critters are also called whistle pigs. That may change your thinking on him using too much fire power. I mean, you can never use too much fire power to kill pigs:) Right? Just sayin is all. I think I said that PC and friendly enough.
Darrell Roeters that is exactly what i think. The pellets/bullets are probably not the best things to eat....thats a given but....Surely leaving out food for other, non destructive, animals is a good thing? On farms here in England you would increase the rat numbers and the fox (bad for hens) numbers but out there? Interested in any opinions....

For some reason the footage through the Athalon scope looks so much better than through the Night Force. Nice shooting!
The lens was set up for the Athlon - In the next video you’ll see clearer footage through the NF

Mat, what do you think of.30 pellets compared to.22 slugs.
.30 pellets are awesome! Trajectory isn’t as flat but they are super reliable and very accurate
@@AirArmsHuntingSA Thanks.
Nice stuff Matt and welcome to the southwest. Hope you enjoy your stay and keep up the great videos.

$30 for 500 22lr. $18 for 500 30 cal pellets. Both middle quality. So ya, air rifle cheaper. Especially during the shortage.

Add the cost of a legal Silencer $$$$ to the .22 LR because after your first shot.. all the targets are down in the ground.
@@sithinstructor Idk where you get get your .22lr at but i can get 500 for about $23. And all i can find is 150 pellets for $18.

It's not acceptable to kill ground squralles this is diabolic act, I don't support this act
It's amazing how far those airguns can hit that strong , grettings from Mexico 😎🖒
Hi, I asked this question how far the most accurate meter is. Thank you
The first one xD
So adorable. Little plague carrying adorableness
Love to see you take 80 yard shots like that with a 12ft lb springer. That's ALL air rifles in the UK unless you have a firearms licence!
...and to think the sun used to never set on British soil, and now they'll barely let you own an air gun.
Fx impact comes into UK variants, and it is very very accurate according to some reviewers. So it doesn’t have to be a springer
I love your footage. I have a 40 ft lb Daystate Airwolf with licence of course.I use her very regularly even though she is very much on the heavy side. I am in the UK so 12 ft is all we can have normally. Accurate shooting is the key. I do very much envy you guys. Keep up the good work.
can u say..... overkill? literally, that was insane! if u manually slow it down even more via video settings to 0.25
.22 pellets will do the job nicely and economically.
Didnt know you were in the US. Would love to get you here in Arizona for our tree squirrel season. Starts very soon.
Hi. Whats the other scope that you are using besides the NF scope?
Jasper Aguila I believe that’s an Athlon. Very nice scopes for the money, almost just as good as Delta Optical
Billie Bleach what possible model of the Athlon would that be?
Jasper Aguila I’m not sure...either a Midas BTR or the Ares BTR. But I’m not 100% sure on the model. But definitely an Athlon
It’s the Athlon Cronus BTR!
I have one, I likeee it!
