Omg I been looking at different online schools and this school was definitely catching my eye. Yes it's expensive but you can tell they are very knowledgeable and I really wanna attend it. Slowly saving money for it. Congratulations on your certificate. 🎉
It’s worth every penny in my opinion. Better to spend a little more and learn the right way instead of wasting money on most of the poor programs out there!
there is some misunderstanding you mean a cosmetic formulator. To become a cosmetic chemist you will need at least a bachelor degree in cosmetic science or chemistry.
Thank you for this video! I make goatmilk soaps for my business and really have wanted to add a lotion and cream but i want it to be correct and not greasy etc. Definitely will be looking into this. need to save a few more funds before can purchase but the confidence gained from doing it the right way, and being able to develop a product that you are truly happy with, as well as explain to customers about it with knowledge is irreplaceable. I found it to be the most authentic and accurate as far as cosmetic formulation. And you’re learning from people with actual experience in the field which was the deciding factor for me!

Big congratulations for all your hard work!! I try to make my products as natural as possible. I am looking at a school that teaches organic formulations do they teach this at IPCS?
Yes! They actually have an entire class on organic formulations if that is your desire. It’s separate from the course I did but you do learn natural/organic things in the main course and then can add on the specialty course!

Belinda is really the go-to in my opinion. Sorry you didn't have a great experience with the other organization. It's definitely worth the cost to go through IPCS!
Just came across your video and I have seen some videos of IPCS the school you got your certificate from and I’m interested in learning how to formulate makeup using organic ingredients. Wasn’t sure if it was possible to do the online courses if you’re from the U.S.
Oh yeah you absolutely can! I took the cosmetics course in addition to the certificate and it was incredible!

Possibly! The courses are opened up as you go, so it’s totally up to you and how much time you put in/how fast you can understand the content.
Congrats! I am a beginner do you think I should start off with the Beginner Cosmetic Science workshop? and then take the other courses.
The workshop is a great place to start! Then you can decide if you like it enough to invest more money into the diploma or certificate.

They teach natural, organic, and conventional products. You learn all three.
Yes! They teach you everything including natural formulations. And it really explains what is natural vs. not on a detailed level so you know what ingredients to select.

Thank you! I honestly had days where I did nothing because of work, and then I spent most weekends putting in 4-5 hours a day. Anytime I had a free moment, I studied!

That’s great! Yes that’s what I did and you just add them together. I think you save a little money too so make sure you ask about that!
Can this course be completed at your own pace? Or is there a time limit? I'm wondering because I am interested in taking it, but currently going to school.
It is self paced but they do give you deadlines. I competed it a bit early (9 months) and if you need extensions they do honor that. I found it to be very flexible!
I’ve been looking into going to school for nursing and trying to knock it out in two years instead of four years and I also wanted to go into cosmetics chemistry but I was nervous about going for a degree so I’ll have to look into this. Is this school recognized by employers/the industry?
This school is accredited but I will say that if you truly want to get hired as a cosmetic chemist, I would suggest you go to a full program. This was great for someone like me who runs their own business.
Do you have any recommendations for learning how to formulate pet products?
I don't know...but the Institute of Personal Care Science might have some details on that if you reach out. Sometimes they have smaller programs on specific things like that.

Thank you! It took me about 9 months total, there were some days I studied for 8 hours and then others it was zero so it was all over the place.

Hi! The content in their courses is MUCH more detailed! They really educated in the course so you understand why you are using certain ingredients. It's like going to culinary school versus learning from a cookbook...if that makes sense.

Hii I really want to become a cosmetic chemist but don’t want to studying chemistry as it’s a hard degree. Do you feel like you have the same knowledge and capabilities as a cosmetic chemist who got their degree?
I don’t think it’s the same knowledge as getting a degree in chemistry but if your goal is to formulate products then I feel 100% knowledgeable about that and the chemistry that goes along with that subject!

Hi, have you considered SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science, UK. Im not sure how does this Diploma of Personal Care Formulation, Australia compared to SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science, UK. Im considering my options too.

Marketing and branding are where they focus time and money. Some items are pretty, overpriced glycerin water with a pinch of a fairytale ingredient 🙄 lol

It will absolutely help you formulate better and you are correct…there is so much misinformation in the internet. It’s always best to learn from the right people!
You can only be a chemist if you have a university degree in chemistry. All the best!
I disagree, many students that have gone through this exact program have gotten jobs in the industry. Not everyone can afford to invest the time and money into a university degree especially if they are working full time already. There is no need to leave comments like this to discourage others from following their dreams but thank you for watching!
@@caitlinblue It is not about deterrence but about clarity of terms. for example, I'm a biologist, I have a master's degree in pharmaceutical and cosmetic biotechnologies and I'm a COSMETIC FORMULATOR, NOT A COSMETIC CHEMIST, like, for example, Perry Romanowsky. And yes, Belinda and her family are the best, I learned more from them than in college and in my master's degree. I'm sorry that you felt offended, but we are not chemists but cosmetic formulators.
Love this I’ve just signed up . Are you qualified to do the tests and sign them off yourself . I have a brand but I send to a lab and would like to perform myself .
