CoffeBeats #26 - Making chillout beat with nanoKEY Studio and iPad Pro

  • Hello again. Recently I went deep into configuration of Korg nanoKEY studio and discovered scenes. There are eight of them and you can map every knob or button to different midi note and CC message on every scene. So I mapped every knob to parameter of every instrument inside Korg Gadet 2 and it gives me much control of live music when switching scenes.
    Samples from this JAM and Launchpad X layout are available to download from:

    Your soloing was quite lovely. I love watching you build this track, playing in all the parts on the fly.

    Superb. I struggle with the nanostudio layout (90 degrees to the normal daw) but it has some great instruments. Great track. Cheers. Lee

    For custom midi layout 1. How are you switching between the instruments ? I didn’t see any CC mapping (other than transport) is available at Korg Gadget against the instrument
    2. What are you controlling using the pots

      I am switching between nanoKEY Studio Scenes. Each scene has different midi channel. Then in Gadget you can set each instrument be listening on different midi channel. But in Gadget need to set to advanced midi mode.

    Súper lovely chill beat 🤙 i was going to ask how you Change instruments but i read the comments, you use diferent Chanel for esene, so you need the editor to do that.?

    Great video! What cc messages did you use to map pads as play, stop, record and so on?

    • @coffebeats
      @coffebeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can use any midi Cc and map it to transport commands inside Gadget. I am using CC20 for recording on/off I think

      @@coffebeats Thanks! One last question, do I need to use the Korg control software on my computer or can I map it directly in gadget?

    • @coffebeats
      @coffebeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. You are mapping it in Gadget
