just bought the nanopad2 to use it like you do. How did you get the top buttons to work. mainly the: Hold, Gate/Arp, Touch Scale, Key/Range, Scale and The 4 Scenes?
Sounds Great. Thinking I may need to add it to my growing collection of underutilized samplers.
Sounds dope! I also bought one a couple of days ago. Still a bit hard to get around all shortcuts. Also takes a while to “prepare” a beat.
Great Jam
Thank You
Świetny Jam i tym samym zachęcająca prezentacja P-6 ;)
Dzięki. Ale nawet nie skorzystałem z 50% możliwości jakie daje 😀 Krzywa uczenia jest stroma 😉
Great sound! Roland p 6 ... a little gem!
Great demo, thanks! Is it possible to turn off the speech function for live use? I think it's not desirable that the voice saying the preset is being played through the front of house 😅
Yes. You can change to 0 volume level of voice guidance
What is the app usde on your iphone?
It is Loopy Pro
❤❤❤
Nice! ❤ How you made all the buttons blue on the Launchpad X? (the black ones that are green by default)
ROCKiN 💢💞💛👍🤗
Im sorry to ask but can I do that with a new iphone 12 ?
Hi man! Appreciate your work! I am hearing pulsing white noise in ableton when i am conecting mpk3 through rode micro like you did in this video. I am wandering if it is problem of rode and i just need to have a better auido interface, or maybe there is something to do about it?
Hello. Noise can coming from AKAI because is quite noisy instrument.
IM HAVING SOME TROUBLES WHEN I CONNECT THE JACK CABLE, PHONE STOPS RECOGNICING MIDI CONTROLER, WHAT CAN I DO?
Muy bueno! Gracias!
Please make a video on a simple setup that we can use to make and record whilst travelling on a plane or train etc. Can’t wait ❤
I love this, your music is absolutely beautiful and ambient!
Thank you so much sir for this video! Is it possible to connect a microphone for live looping vocals witb this setup?
Bravissimo

where is the Rhodes Module, ....Love Your Work
I've been considering buying this pad controller vs the NanoPad2. Do you use it more the Nanopad2, or for different things?
Yes. It is better than nanopad2. It is wireless and configurable via iOS devices so for me it is gamechanger
@@coffebeats Thanks, that's really helpful to know. 😊
@@coffebeats I'm trying to work out the MIDI setup right now, my m-vave smc-pad controller just arrived. I've managed to set it up partially in Koala, but only via USB-C, not over bluetooth. Could you recommend a tutorial for this controller? Also, do I need to set it up via a bluetooth MIDI setup app too, and if so, what do you recommend? I'm using it with iPad, iPhone, and maybe with my MacBook Pro.
As I can see you are using a iPhone to 3.5mm convertor from your iPhone to listen with headphones. Can I know which company is the convertor ? Because online I can't find a perfect one to to trust for the sound quality it will give.
It is Baseus I think
This is really inspiring! I got the keyboard for being able to quickly play out ideas, and it works. However - when I plug it into my iPad (through Behringer UCA-222 the sound is really low, despite the output from the Akai seems loud enough. Have you had something similar? I am just trying to figure out if it is the SW on my iPad (Koala Sampler), the audio interface (UCA-222) or a setting I have missed. Any input is appreciated. Love your coffee beats!!
Akai has not the best sound and it is quite noisy but it has good level of sound. You must search problem in other devices
I don’t understand how he is doing a loop system? Is it the phone doing the loops?
It’s Loopy Pro, on iPhone
So it is possible to use the Akai without any PC? What about Power supply? And since I'm on Android: are you aware of any good live looping apps (with support for external mic)? Thanks in advance.
It's the Akai mini play. It has build-in sounds and a mini speaker. It's battery powered or via USB an a powebank or so. On Android you need an 3-in-1 adapter and you can use koala sampler.
you still using it? very cool device though i wish build quality would be better
Smaller pads always result in higher sensibility. It's all about the contact area behind a pad. So this new controller doesn't have better quality, compared to the OG TempoPAD.
Have you tested it?
@@coffebeats I own the OG TempoPAD, not the Z-1. When you press a pad, the pressure area behind the pad will be detected. So you have to press harder on larger pads to get highest velocity. The best (most sensitive) pads are made by Native Instruments. I've modified the OG TempoPAD (stickers on the contact foil, new knobs), and now it's OK for my DAW. Unfortunately it's not detected by my Android tablet (even with external PSU).
Really enjoy your music. I am almost ready to buy Loopy Pro. I am a guitarist and not a looping musician, I need a keyboard controller that is smaller than my Roland keyboard in the music room. Would you recommend this over the Akai mpk and launchkey ? Thank you
Do you have to charge it
No it is powered from usb-c
Does it support iPad?
Yes it supports iPad too
I bought mine awhile ago and set it aside from frustration. I can’t figure out how to use the interface
If you need help with specific topic let me know
what is the app you used on your phone?
It is Loopy Pro
Love the rhythm I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get into sampling it's so simple to use fun and addictive
Any drum and bass kits?
Yes. You can setup nice dnb kit from existing voices
@@coffebeats First thanks for the reply and your review is by far the most comprehensive. 🤘 I have seen the fgdp-50 being used with the amen break kit and specifically need to know if this kit is a preset or if it can be loaded/installed on the fgdp-30 too. I really *need* the amen kit!!!! 😂 If you can answer that pls I'd greatly appreciate it my man.
Thumbs up for the: “…but I don’t give up.” @1:18 😂😂
I dont understand how the playback is not being recorded each time and only the new sound is being recorded?
Playback is only in my headphones. Speaker plays only new sounds, not all that you hear.
Very Zero 7. Love it
👏🏾
Super video. I learned tons. Would be great if you showed how you mapped your scenes. I’ve had no luck there.
I am planning to back to nanoKEY jams, so maybe will record some additional tutorial shortly
Well, you're certainly more adept at the Nanokey Studio than I am. I just use it to record backing tracks to Cubasis 3 and then I add horns, via a Roland Aerophone Mini.
NanoKEY Studio is very underrated controller. It has many functions in such a little body. If I have to choose one of all, It would be nanoKEY
How do you do pitch bend and modulation?
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 For the horns? The Roland is a wind controller, so it's as easy as playing a trumpet, sax, flute, etc. I use breath control. As for the Nanokey Studio, it's the same as playing any keyboard. What I like about the Nanokey Studio is the ability to play chords with single notes.
You need set touch bar to Pitch / Mod mode, by pressing Pitch / Mod button
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 Sorry, I wasn't thinking, there. Yes, for pitch bend and mod, there is a single Pitch/Mod button, located under the right end of the knobs. My only use for the Nanokey Studio is to compose chord progressions, which I then play over with other instruments, mostly the SWAM Trumpet, SWAM Tenor Sax, SWAM Flute, etc, using the Roland Aerophone Mini as a wind controller.
Hello. Thank you very much for this video. I just bought the MPK Mini Play mk3. Already have Loopy Pro installed in iPad. How can I use it with the usb cable to connect to Loopy Pro? It detect my device as the input but there’s no sound coming out. Really appreciate your input on this. Again, thank you for this video.
You need also some audio interface for iPad like Rode Ai Micro that I used in this video. Mini Play do not transmit audio over USB cable, only MIDI data.
@@coffebeats ahaaa… no wonder I can’t get the sound to come out. Hahaha. Thank you so much for your respond. Appreciate it a lot. I will do that. Really enjoyed your looping session. I will follow your tutorial video on the setup. Again, thank you so much my friend. Looking forward to your next video. Have a wonderful days ahead.
@@coffebeatshi again. I’ve just got myself the Rode Ai Micro and it works. Hahaha. Finally I can play it using Loopy Pro. Just out of curiosity, is there any instruments and settings that you like to use always for the akai mpk mini mk3 play for a lo-fi mix?
Excellent love it. Can you explain your setup? Is it just the three linked together? I would like to try same thing
Yes. They are connected together with Rode Ai Micro audio interface for iPhone
Hello can you give me the phone app ??
Hello, it is Loopy Pro
All of these are so forumulaic. Same thing every time.
Heyyyyy, que aplicación esta usando para hacer los loops?
loopy pro
sorry it doesen't have real MIDI I/O, presets are good and it would to be nice to use it as a sound module with older stuffs.
Yes, indeed. It has midi over usb but it is not supported by old controllers
Question! Can you program the Play for different presets/ sounds that I can just use in a live environment with the keyboard? Or is that just the pad? I want to run a cable into my loop pedal and then run the akai into a regular sound system but I don't like all of the regular sounds the play has to offer...If you can't do this with the akai play, do you know a midi keyboard that does this?
Ok if I understand you correctly you want to have different midi / cc preset on each pad for controlling different instruments in your live environment. If yes, then no, Akai can’t have different midi sets assigned to pads. But nanoKEY Studio can do what you want. I use it as controller that triggers different instruments in live setup in my other movies
@@coffebeats Thanks!
So inspiring!
maybe add some chapters for set up, tech talk and music sections?
