    I’m getting some great tips from this series! I’m so glad I found your channel! 💕 I had hand surgery at the base of my thumb in September and during my rehab, I made my Christmas cards! I was bound and determined I wouldn’t be down for long! I shocked my orthopedic surgeon and my physical therapist! I’m praying for a successful outcome for you!

    Hello Julia. Wonderful watching your process and I laugh so hard when we make the same decisions. My husband thinks I am talking to someone, not a screen. 😂Well I am. I am enjoying every minute of it as well. 😊 You are so organized and it will make all the difference when you have to make these up one handed. Hoping you heal up well and quickly and praying for your surgery to be successful. xx

      @SeniorSusieStamps  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joni - I certainly understand throwing those bits and bobs away - it's much easier than trying to make something of them. But the paper was all coordinated nicely so everything worked out. I think if you try it sometime when you are not pushed to make a bunch of cards, you will really enjoy the process. I would definitely start with flower clusters - they are the easiest, and you can add a little mini sentiment easily.

    You amaze me with the ideas that you come up with! Taping the strip to the other paper so it is easier to get into the punch is fantastic. I never thought of that but I can see where it really helps. Having so many tools available also helps, like the punches, twine , etc. sure makes a difference. Great tips and I am sure glad I found your channel! Thanks!

    Great minds thinking alike again! I just pulled out the Valentines day things this morning so I can start the process of building the ephemera from the left over pieces from last year. You are not old fashion in your way of thinking to be mindful of the sentiments used. I donate to a local radio stations card drive for some local senior homes and I am always very mindful of the sentiments used on my cards. Your ephemera is really cute and that is a great idea to do kits so you can still create after your procedure!

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Maureen - It's nice to know I am not the only one starting Valentines!! Can't wait to see some of yours. What papers are you finishing up? I just went through the 55 card packets and realized I am going to need to stamp some sentiments to overlay some of the Echo Park ephemera I used. So, back to the drawing board. But I did get the stickers put on the back which is kind of a 2 handed job. Yay!

    • @maureenmahurin1673
      @maureenmahurin1673 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeniorSusieStamps Sadly, I ended up making more scraps instead of eliminating scraps. There's always next year right? I am using a Stampin Up pack from a year or so ago and just decided I needed to add 18 more to the 60 that I already planned. lol! I am glad you are getting your two handed tasks out of the way and will be praying for a successful procedure for you so you can get back to crafting in short order!

    Hi Julia, 💖
    Julia, you make so many cards not only for yourself, but for the residents at the local nursing homes. What I love is your organisation in getting your targets achieved.
    As your cards had very busy backgrounds, and ephemera you certainly needed to add the white areas.
    Even though I do not make Valentine's Day cards this video is perfect and has given me an idea as to how to tackle all the birthday cards I need to make for next year. This is brilliant... thank you Julia. I have already prepared my card bases a white standard A6 size card suitable for posting in Australia. I am going to prepare all the coloured papers, and toppers or stamped images etc, and then have them together with the envelopes unassembled, and place them in a box or something similar just like you have shown in this video. This way I can change things or add prior to assembling the cards. For me that is a game changer... happy days! 😀
    I noticed that you were using your new TH trimmer... they are wonderful to use. When I make some of my birthday cards, I must remember to use the TH deckle trimmer as well.
    Yes, I am counting down the days until your surgery, and I continue to pray that all goes well. 🙏 Please take all the time that you need to recover, and we all look forward to your return. The most important thing is to look after you!
    God's richest blessings, love and hugs from Aussie Gloria. 🥰💐💖💝💕

      Oh Gloria - I am delighted to have inspired your Birthday Card project in some small way. I am so proud of you for stretching your skills and take on this commitment!! I know the recipients will love your cards!
      Funny thing about that trimmer...I had really gotten used to the other one, and liked it very much after my DIY modification. However, the TH is still my trimmer of choice!
      Blessings to you today and always, Julia

      Hi Kathleen - I found that tag punch just recently on ebay it is an old Stampin Up punch. Probably retired, but I am not positive about that. Great size for using those little cube scraps I can tell you. I keep my fringe scissors ready at the waiting and forget to use them too - LOL!! But some things just scream fringe. Funny story my Mother got those from Publishers Clearinghouse years ago - I have 3 pair and gave away a few. She got hooked on those sale things hoping for a big payday. But I use them!! And it's a good memory for me.

    What you said about thinking some of the valentine's sentiments might be misconstrued--You're not old-fashioned--You're just very decent and I feel the same way as you. I don't buy stamp sets because of the sentiments so much as I buy them for the images I can use. I computer-generate my own sentiments, usually, rather than stamp some of the, "punny," sentiments that abound because it's just too much, anymore. I love puns, but 🥰enough is enough, sometimes.
