    If both Honda and Toyota got the same reviews, I’ll buy the Honda. I don’t trust my local Toyota dealership anymore, every time I go in for service, all new employees. My dealership treats their employees poorly, the employee turn over is high. I’m probably trading my Tundra for a F150.

    is it still a problem though if hybrid batteries fail wherein you can no longer drive the car altogether? i think i'd prefer a naturally aspirated v6 if that's still the case. and if the hybrid batteries fail, how much does it typically cost to replace them? if the cost to replace the hybrid batteries negates the savings in gas mileage from driving a hybrid then what's the difference/benefit of a hybrid?

    • @DavidVanNorman
      @DavidVanNorman ปีที่แล้ว

      If the hybrid system fails completely, you can still run and drive the car. It will be underpowered and inefficient, but it will still move. Toyota is offering a 10 year battery and 8 year hybrid system warranty so you can do the math to figure out if 10 years of gas savings is enough to pay for a battery if it breaks after the warranty is up. I suspect many buyers who purchase this sienna new will sell it well before the 10 years are up.

      I own FWD and AWD and I can say you don’t need AWD at all for a regular commute, AWD won’t help you brake faster and won’t help you turn and that’s what gets people killed. I’d rather spend that money on winter tires than AWD.

    Toyota and Honda are sleep walking into the future. They are looking to the past and projecting it forward.
    EV adoption is accelerating every year. Exponential not linear. The only limiting factor is batteries.
    The number of electric vehicles and types of vehicles and trucks is growing.
    Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs and amazing technology. Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. PHEVs still have a gasoline engine polluting the environment. Toyota and Honda will be late to the party. It will cost them market share, market value and future customers. There is a Climate Crisis. Young people will not buy petrol and diesel vehicles that add to the Climate Crisis.

      The charging infrastructure just isn't there yet. Plus, people are still scared to own a hybrid for fear of the relatively small battery wearing out, imagine the cost of a huge EV battery replacement. I love that EVs exist, and they are truly ground-breaking, but to pretend that a company that makes traditional gas or hybrid vehicles is somehow outdated is premature at best.
