Hi Anthony. I'm glad you brought up the suicidal woman. That's definitely something to think about. I think my response, rather than turning her down, would have be been to ask about how she was coping now, after her rough patch was over. If she still needs God to cope, or if she is afraid of a relapse if she loses confidence. If yes, if she's really sure she still wants to have the conversation knowing that it may cause her to lose confidence that her God is real.
Dylan Jones That’s good advice. If it happened today, I’d probably be a lot more adept at handling it. But at the time, it was a first for me, so it was awkward. Hopefully people can learn from that event and be prepared for it if it ever happens to them.

I like that. That's close to what I would do as a clinician. I may or may not do that on an SE basis, depending on other factors.
