  • A young startup formed by IIT Delhi students have found a novel way to take care of paddy stubble. Paddy stubble is burnt every year by farmers from states bordering Delhi which increases air pollution. This startup called Kriya Labs has developed a simple process to convert paddy straw into fibre, Their aim is to stop stubble burning and at the same time explore a new business venture.

For making birayani parcel box. We an add one extra piece at the bottom of box support box to hold load of rice.
Use the technology of pining pieces of banana trunk same as we use in local patal making.
For making beautiful plate of large size use same technology of pining pieces with help of small wooden stick. We can make any desirable size.
    Small suggestion,
We can put banana patal in disc plate it self so that we don't have to make it thick for holding loads of food stuff.
People in restaurant or marriage can use it for buffet system.
Make plain rapable plate.using dry babana leaves for hotels industry also.
At last if ever we face electricity problem , I have suggested solar but another method is use industry where lots of heat is generated .cut pieces and dry it .
We called it as interdependence industry.once we make systems it works.
    Namh shivay.

20 million tonne rice straw is not the problem here. The issue is that it is spread over 2 lakh sq kilometres. Solutions like this may well be innovative but they are mere eyewash. Need to develop a system with combined harvesters that collect the staw while harvesting. Supply chain is the main issue here rather than technology to convert it into useful products.

    This is so wonderful Mohan.
There is much potential in the straw.
We should make use of it. And not just burn which is Not Vedic and life supporting.
May be you should give a presentation to the agriculture minister and farming leaders.
I find the farmers to be very sensible and sensitive-
They just need to know and understand the truth of the matter and the many possibilities.
    Bio gas
    Bio feed for cattle
Bio cellulose for paper and disposable products.
    Etc.

    Sir.
I was thinking about your peddy grass idea. Can we make Ice cream spoon or noodles stick for Chinese people or spoon for eating yougart or food.
Because in your method we have facilities to compress dove of peddy.Think about it.
We can save lot of trees.
For making match stick box or piece of matchstick,We can use your method, for biryani box or birthday cake box, your peddy grass box will be most appropriate method. Less costly. Thanks for your hard work. Aap ka mangal ho.

The current air pollution in Delhi is due to stubble burning in the Haryana state. It's not only our capital which is suffering but many places too which we don't hear of as it is not of national importance. This innovation should reach out to the government and masses and slowly work in the direction of setting up such units around any fiber yielding industry.

    Nice job.Aap ka mangal ho.
Rice paddy is used by animals.
Framer are not giving to animals.
    We must educate the farmers.
Use banana tree for making plate. Because we have abundance of banana tree. We can use solar light for drying the trunk after cutting in desirable size. Less process and more profit gain.
Please work on this project to cut down price. Namh shivay.
