Kiersey Clemons also ruined this movie she is a terrible actress. I couldnt care about any of these actors if they lived or died which is sad because the first one was brilliant.
Hollywood really needs to stop being obsessed with remakes, re imaginings, and re-boots. I wish Hollywood would just investing in original content again.
Here's what gets me. If we pretend this movie takes place in the real world. This afterlife flatline stuff would have already been discovered/ proven - because people flatline and get brought back by accident all the time. So we would have already as a society seen countless people come back who were suddenly super smart and magically capable of things they weren't before. Right?
If we pretend this movie takes place in the real world... No. Coming back from a flat line is extraordinarily rare. The flat line on an EKG represents a lack of electrical impulse in the heart. There is a Sinus node in the heart, that operates independent of the brain that instructs the heart to pump and maintain rhythm. When an AED, or manually operated defibrillator is used, it is used to normalize an already present, but not life sustaining rhythm. If your Sinus node fails, and does not autonomously restart, (which is the rare exception) there is no rhythm to be shocked. You cannot shock into correction a rhythm that doesn't exist. It's a longstanding Hollywood misnomer that a flat line on an EKG means someone is dying but can still be saved. A rapid shallow rhythm is someone's heart in fibrillation (atrial or ventricle) and that person can be saved. A flat line is a signal that all efforts have already failed and you need to call the time of death. So, assuming this is the real world, somebody would be charged with murder for irreversibly stopping their fellow students heart, and then it would be a courtroom drama.
+Chris MacDonald as for the charge of murder, Page's character has a throwaway line about "release forms" that would keep them safe if she permanently died. Sounds like bullshit to me but is there *any* discernible way that could work? For someone to be like "it's cool I asked this person to potentially murder me, no prison for them pretty please" and it actually holds up in court?
I remember there being a case where a guy put out an ad asking for someone willing to be killed and eaten. There was a taker, and they even recorded footage showing the soon-to-be-eaten saying he's down with this. Since it was a consensual killing, the courts couldn't charge him with murder, so they charged him with manslaughter instead (literally; he slaughtered a man and ate him). The incident gets mentioned in a book called The Righteous Mind.
Some cases of people coming back from comas seriously change how their brain works, some dude being able to paint, another "learning" a new language but do we really want to risk becoming a potato

Because is very hype driven. For example, Avatar had a perfect score for quite some time when it was released same goes for the last Harry Potter movie.
It's hilarious how many of you don't understand rotten tomatoes... it's not like most other critic sites in that the score you see is not an average of all of the critics scores they gave the movie... the score you see with each movie shows the percentage of critics who rated the movie as 50% or better. So, if flatliners has 10 critics and rt gives a score of 0%...that simply means that none of the critics gave the movie a rating of over 50%... all ten critics could have rated the movie 49% but you would still see a 0% rating on rotten tomatoes. If you want to see their actual scores that is available when you click on the movie itself. All this said, a 0% means no critics recommend the movie, and that's not good. Hope this clears rt up for those who don't get it. It's a very quick way of seeing how many critics give the movie a rating of 50% or better.
you are wrong dude. critics on RT only have two options: Fresh or Rotten. if 100 critics reviewed the film, if 70 gave it a fresh and 30 gave it a rotten rating, then the RT rating of the movie is 70%, not like what you've said that critics will give their own percentage, that's not how it works. rotten or fresh, that's it then get the fresh percentage out of all critics.

The original was really good, by today's standards I don't know if young people would enjoy it though. But this one was really bad. A great idea but really bad execution.
I really like Nina Dobrev, but i wish she will return to TV. She's not a movie actress & her being in these very bad movies will have her ending up "Sarah Michelle Gellar-ing" herself with hollywood & she'll have to end up cooking. TVD is so far the only good thing on her resume & she's a very nice actress & i will love to see her winning again.
I agree 100%, but her role in let's be cops was good....was very small though, so doesn't show her skills as an actress. Because of that she should stick with tv shows like you said or she will be like one of those actors they say are "box office cancer"
I agree. Dobrec is a beautiful woman with great potential...Ellen Page is an actress I've been watching since "Hard Candy" and of course was great in "Juno" and "Inception"...but, she needs another successful role fast. It''s a shame to see them in terrible movies like this. I like your term "Gellaring"...boy, talk about terrible choices. Nina can be a great actress! Some of the scenes in TVD with her completely blew me away with her acting. It's a shame her talent is being wasted on movies like these :(

I'm sorry, I'm in medical school and medical students would not be sanctioned to do this nor would they have access to equipment without the supervision of nurses or physicians in residency.
Medical students at various stages would indeed be able to sneak access to the equipment in some medical schools. I know med students who could do this if they were so inclined. Yes, there would be a very high risk/chance of getting caught, but theoretically it could be done in at least some schools. jfyi, I'm not endorsing this behavior!
This movie doesn't make sense. *There are plenty of people who have had near death experiences* and who were flatlined and resuscitated in an ER. No one ever documented super powers and ghosts as a side-effect 😐
There are a few isolated case reports of increased ESP. As far as I know those specific individuals were never studied scientifically (so we don't know what's going on there -- if anything), *but* the reports are there nonetheless. Some NDEs *do* provide *some* (albeit not conclusive) evidence of either an afterlife or at least "super-psi" (i.e. living-agent psi that simulates or mimics the appearance of an afterlife via genuine psi), although you're right that there aren't any case studies on NDErs being haunted afterwards. But so what? The movie is playing the "what if" game. What if some NDErs get haunted but are too afraid to come forward? Outside of NDEs, there is actually an impressive literature on hauntings and other weird spooky shit that people either dismiss too quickly or incredulously believe too quickly. See Braude's 2003 classic "Immortal Remains" for a good discussion on the evidence and alternative explanations (note that Braude is mostly unimpressed by NDEs).
Hey, man! I've never seen the original but I've heard so many positive things about it. I've been wanting to go into this without seeing it so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Hopefully that'll still allow me to enjoy it somewhat lol I don't like rotten tomatoes at all but the fact that it has a 0% is crazy. All I had to do was type in "rotten tomatoes" into google, and "rotten tomatoes Flatliners" was the first option haha I'll still check it out but my expectations are incredibly low now. Great review!
I knew it was terrible from the trailers. Like...how can this movie be even remotely redeeming? Ah well. I guess they can't all be great remakes, such as It. How did Ellen Paige even get stuck with this? She deserves way better.
If you think percentage scores on rottentomatoes is meant to represent quality and rank all films by that quality then you don't understand how the website works. It's simply an aggregator of review scores, but it counts a 51/100 as equally a postive score as 100/100, so a movie being 100% could mean the film is just only decent, but that every reviewer agreed that it's decent and not one person thought it warranted only a 49/100 The fact people keep using rottentomatoes as some kind of point ranking system for movies demonstrates that few people have any clue what the website does. A lot of people even now still think that rottentomatoes are giving their own reviews, instead of just collecting ones from other reviewers
The real score on RT is 3.5 (out of 10). The Emoji movie scores 2.6 and SS 4.7. You can't use the tomatometer for anything. You should look at the average rating (displayed below the tomato score). For more realistic scores, use www.metacritic.com/ www.guitarfix.dk
A remake was completely not needed The first film was brilliant, with its original concept of dying to see the other side. It wasn't horror it was just atoning for things you did wrong. It was so great
Although it was a decent movie. Flatliners being one of my favorite movies. The makers dropped the ball. Instead of just remaking the movie with the added technology. Kiefer Sutherland should have had a larger part.
This was a terrible movie. But there is one redeeming part that last for 30 second at the beginning of the movie. I went to the hospital and flatlined and the movie has a little truth in my experience. Confusion and the darkness and the fluidity of what I experienced and the voice actors reading people's negative death experiences. I believe do to the lack of oxygen my brain or mind has suffered. Like I can feel when death is near only because I've felt death in death. I get confused if I'm here or on the other side. The mental gymnastics do to the lack of oxygen is what was also destructive to my mind. There was something out there after death but I still don't know what it was. Regret and the past invading or messing with your mind is something that happens. If you're religious they call them visions. If your not they call them hallucinations. The experience really messed with my mind. There was nothing redeeming in death only brain damage occurred. This movie was DOA. I was bored and the acting was terrible special effects were terrible and was a waste of time it was very cheesy. It deserves the F.
Not worse. Flatliners just had less people give a pity review because it wasn't animated because animation isn't taken as a film medium, just a genre for little kids.
YOU my friend are my favorite movie critic. I have even watched a couple films that you distinctly said to avoid ...just so that I could form my own opinion and you're always 100% correct on your reviews of them. I hang on every word now 😊
As someone that this has happened to (died after a drug OD for an unknown amount of minutes), I can tell you that nothing happens. In fact, if you ever die, hope no one finds you and gets the EMTs out to resuscitate you, because it hurts a lot more coming back.
I was on the set of flat liners! Well not really I just walked by at the flat iron building in Toronto and talked to the location guys who were bored out of their mind and ended up chilling for a couple hours while they shot
Any movie with a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes almost deserves a review just to see what the hell went wrong with it

Yes, there would be a very high risk/chance of getting caught, but theoretically it could be done in at least some schools. jfyi, I'm not endorsing this behavior!
Don't you mean "would be sanctioned from?"
Hey Chris. Recently bought your book and it's amazing. Thank you!!
Aron Rudner-Stokell Chris has a book ? What's its name ?
Hasan Özuğurlu the film buff's bucket list
Ravi 1234 Thanks👍🏻
All these reviewers are just #FlatShaming -_-
Watching this movie in theater was worst time of my life.
"uve never lived until you've died" but u got to live to be able to die???????
L A I suppose that's quote from the movie?
Lol I thought the same thing
Freedom costs tax It's the tagline. And it means that once you've had a near death experience, you start to appreciate life a lot more, I think.
Jake Voronkov ah okay, I payed no attention to this because I knew it would fail
Being alive is not the same as living...i mean think about it
You're my favorite reviewer I think. Been watching you for quite a few months and it's been very entertaining! Gj! Have a God-blessed day bro!
Thx for the review! You're without doubt the best movie critic on youtube!
this isn't RLM's channel, so you are wrong. Stuckman is good, but far from being the best...
Sony keeps on making garbage. Surprise surprise.
What about "Baby Driver"?
Joseph Garcia and my movie
This movie does not deserve 0% on RT. Come on, the emoji movie, 50 shades, suicide squad have more..
Get ready for the Suicide Squad fans
imissmyoldchannel that's because SS and EM were better than this
If you think percentage scores on rottentomatoes is meant to represent quality and rank all films by that quality then you don't understand how the website works. A lot of people even now still think that rottentomatoes are giving their own reviews, instead of just collecting ones from other reviewers
imissmyoldchannel good thing you aren't a critic
The real score on RT is 3.5 (out of 10). The Emoji movie scores 2.6 and SS 4.7.
You can't use the tomatometer for anything. You should look at the average rating (displayed below the tomato score).

Chris make a review for the original Blade Runner! At least before the new movie comes out!
Guys guys chris loved it he gave it a a+!
Senpai Hentai Nice B8
Stop reusing jokes.
Go watch the original one. Suspense, a touch of horror, good performances, and an excellent atmosphere.
Plz plz do a Stanley Kubrick review series.
CrackedUpTv eyes wide shut
Matthew B is that your favorite Kubrick film.
I was 100% expecting him to review The Shining during his Stephen King series.
Max Isola same maybe not but part of me wonders if he doesn't like Kubrick he never talks about him.
He said in one of his earlier Blu-ray collection videos that The Shining is his favorite Kubrick movie.
They didn't understand the heart of the original film, which was brilliantly executed writing, style, and acting wise.
What's the rating??? X, Y or Z 😂😂
Maroof Juneja F , did you watch the video?
Gamewincam Jesus Mary and Joseph and the donkey that brought them to Bethlehem
Gamewincam you didn't understand his joke, did you?
Gamewincam I suppose you haven’t learned the term satire
whales03 I have , I suppose you haven’t heard of the term “sarcasm”
But what do you think of the original film? I remember liking it a lot as a child.
awesome review as always love you man keep up the good work
Have you reviewed the original Flatliners? Would like to see that!
have u done 3:10 at Yuma?
Every time I raised my hands in a "wtf.. really" fashion, people around me in the theater laughed. A lot of people thought it sucked.
I'm happy it's bad, tired of the decade of the remakes
Devan Velo At least the new IT is good.
margareth michelina my stubbornness has stopped me from seeing it
Who else is rewatching all his older horror videos in time for this October?
REVIEW CULT OF CHUCKY
A remake was completely not needed The first film was brilliant, with its original concept of dying to see the other side. It wasn't horror it was just atoning for things you did wrong. It was so great
But you didn't review The Shining...
Natsu Dragion77 *cough*
very funny....
Dude this year is brutal. Emoji Movie, Flatliners, Fifty Shades Darker. Get well soon Chris.
Who's excited for Blade Runner ?!
The hype is strong in me
No interest at all
Woa! Chris! You flat named Elliot.
She was Ellen at the time this film came out.
@@Vanessa-tn6sk So was Flatliner the culprit...
are you gonna review JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 ?????
The bitch is back !
i know, right
people really seem to ignore this because it was pre jeepers
Kirsty Cotton thank you
Dec 26th 2017
leatherface came out too and cult of Chucky on Oct 3rd
The original Flatliners was my intro into horror and suspense, so it holds a special place in my heart. The new one feels like a personal insult.
Damn it where's your blade runner 2049 review
Chris, since it's that time of year again...will you do a review on seven?
So u mean it’s a real gem on par with IT NOOIICCEE!
I just watched this movie and it was amazing I was hooked from the very begining
0% on rotten tomatoes... even worse than the emoji movie fuck!
AnhThu LikesPie you tybe
Pavarotti
I hang on every word now 😊
Whats worse flatliners, S.S., or Emoji movie?
The Emoji Movie is so much worse!
What's S.S?
Suicide Squad wasn't that bad imo. I liked it more Spider-Man Homecoming...
Emoji Movie was way worst. And Suicide Squad wasn't bad.
2012XF3
Suicide Squad is bad but is NO WHERE NEAR as bad as those movies
Anyone else have that McConaughey ad play before this? Where he says “we didn’t get out to make a hit”
Sounds like he’s talking about Dark Tower
This movie makes me want to flat-line and NOT be resuscitated
I work at Cinemark and Flatliners was packed with teens Friday and Saturday night. Every time I ripped their ticket I just shook my head.
This and The Emoji Movie could be some GREAT Razzie noms!
Along with mummy and transformer 5
And Fifty Shades Darker
As someone that this has happened to (died after a drug OD for an unknown amount of minutes), I can tell you that nothing happens. In fact, if you ever die, hope no one finds you and gets the EMTs out to resuscitate you, because it hurts a lot more coming back.
*LAZARUS EFFECT WAS A BETTER MOVIE THAN THIS!*
THE REAL MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD and that's .... really sad
Hey Chris, how do you find the 90th Flatlineres?
greetings from germany
Remember to review cult of chucky when it comes out in a few days.
I was on the set of flat liners! Well not really I just walked by at the flat iron building in Toronto and talked to the location guys who were bored out of their mind and ended up chilling for a couple hours while they shot
