    I absolutely relate. About 3 year ago I had a 3-year stall where I had no net loss. There would be minor fluctuations, but stayed the same essentially. It took a lot of patience. And it was certainly a learning experience.

    I restricted for alot of years ,so now im consentrating on protien with enough fat and u eating enough - i feel better and getting more in tune with how i feel- i weigh every day and have seen the flexible weight- my goodness - after 2 weeks ive lost a pound and gained some muscle like .4 😂 and my fat free bodyvweight went up, so i shall see - i might go back to 1 time a week to weigh - once a month was not good for me🤔

    I've never taken it too seriously, and maybe that's always been my problem, but I recently became curious and weighed myself first thing in the morning. I then weighed myself again after that first pee of the morning and was almost a whole pound less! Later on I became curious again after going number two and got excited about how much more I might be down. Surprisingly, I was up! Not just higher than after peeing, but higher than the first weight of the morning! Ever since then, I've gone back to not taking it too seriously again! 😂😅😄😉🤪

    My doctor told me to weigh daily, but to look up the calendar to see what I weighed that day on the previous week and not the day before m this has really helped me to see trende, especially when I look at a month of Tuesdays compared to a month of a different day.

    Mine was food allergies. THREE DAYS is the clear out period. Ironically I could eat wheat with impunity if I choose to but chicken, fish and seafood are a HUGE no go. I stick to deer, beef, bison , goat, pork and turkey. Now I can eat eat eggs and OCCASIONAL dairy. And I ALWAYS avoid the scale right before my time of the month. That used to cause me such frustration until I got with an actual moderator who was monitoring my program for allergies. The Plan by Lyn Genet gives you a way to test almost any food regardless of whether you are vegan or carnivore.

    Wonderful advice. I’m staying the same weight while I EAT MORE, so maintaining while eating well is so amazing. I, too am fine with it, and I do intermittent fasting 16/8 hours a day. I don’t want to do a 24 hour fast while I’m learning to be stable while eating more than I was used to. I don’t want to confuse myself any more than I am!

    Anita, thank you for the video! You could make a video on weight GAINS LOL 😂! When I switched from Keto (did not feel good) to carnivore I regained around 30 pounds of my already lost 90 pounds so it was HIGHLY discouraging BUT after around 20 months I just need to loose another 10 pounds to reach 90 again, which I am confident I will. I don't like stalls but I'm trying very hard not to be frustrated by them. They are inevitable on the long journey I've had and still have down the scale. But what would I do differently? I eat as healthy as I know how right now. With better/new knowledge I might tweak things here and there but otherwise I just need to be patient with the scale and keep living the best life I can with what my body can give me right now.

    Weight loss is such an emotionally charged issue for some people, me being one of them. So much struggle and disappointment, feelings of having no control, have culminated in strong, emotional triggers from lots of different things. I haven't weighed myself in years, and threw my scales away about 10 years ago. I've been mostly carnivore for just over 6 months, and my clothes are getting looser, that's how I know it's working. I put on a coat that I hadn't worn in about 2 years, it had been too tight to button, now it's loose. I'm starting to feel like perhaps my body isn't completely out of control now, I'm no longer an expanding, ticking time bomb about to explode with illness. I don't care about numbers on a scale, I'm just thrilled that my body seems to be normalising after a lifetime of abnormal expansion.

    Well said Anita. I think being hung up on the scale numbers is a very unhealthy way to be. So long as one is continually trying to control one’s diet and controlling the cravings those scale numbers really don’t matter. I eat meat based to try to reverse my type 2 diabetes and I hardly ever weigh myself. What I have noticed when weighing myself is that my weight is staying mostly constant, so a stall? But! My waist size has decreased so my body is changing shape. I’m slowly getting healthier. If I was hung up on the scale figure I would be a mental wreck! I think it was Bart Kay who said in one of his videos throw your scales away - they have no place in your home! Lol

    Over 2 years carnivore and, while there have been plenty of health improvements (including relief of suicidal depression and severe anxiety), I've not only NOT lost a single pound but have gained a few pounds and now have what feels like a heart condition. And due to that condition I can't exercise. Talk about frustrating. But I will keep at it. I need to consult a carnivore doctor because I don't trust western medicine, but don't know if there are any available or that I can afford (age 65 - low income). Feeling very stuck, not at all sure what to do. Anyone have any advice?

    • @brendabowers2320
      @brendabowers2320 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@alwaysbeyourself9328 going to throw this out there, so hope it helps…2019 I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure with an ejection fraction of 35. I was having to use a scooter because I couldn’t breathe well. Ran out of energy. I’ve been carnivore for almost six months now and 48 lbs of fat loss and need to lose another 50 to get back to my normal weight. But I’ve lost three sizes and seem to still be losing weight for now. I don’t exercise because of a disease I was born with. I can now walk everywhere I go and I can also breathe like I used to. I was also anemic and had very low vitamin D plus my thyroid does not perform as it should. I have a lot of things physically wrong with me. But I’ve haven’t felt this good in over ten years so carnivore is definitely something I’m going to stay on for life. I know it can be hard to afford certain things, believe me I’ve gone down the same road. I might suggest a few test to see if your deficient in these, 1. Vitamin D, vitamin K, iron, A1C, and a complete thyroid panel. Also check into foods you could be allergic to. These few things play a part in our metabolism. I have not had diabetes 2. I was 100 pounds overweight when I started Carnivore. I do intermittent fasting daily 12 to 16 hours,and only eat two meals a day. Upon waking up I eat for my first meal two fried pasture raised eggs and four slices of bacon. My second meal is eaten within six hours then I don’t eat again until the next day. My second meal is usually a beef steak or beef, once a week I have seafood and another meat source like turkey or chicken. Over the years I have not been a big eater. Just ate the wrong foods. I don’t have any other thing except I do have 1 to 2 cups of coffee a day and a glass or two of tea. The rest of the time I drink PH balanced water. That heart condition you think you might have could be GERD. My twin girls have ADHD and anxiety attacks that make them feel like they are having a heart attack. But only you can take care of what’s wrong, if anything with you. I’ve done a lot of research and read case studies on things I have wrong with me. I hope you find your answers, just keep looking and stay the course on eating the right foods. ❤️

I gained five lbs and could not get it off for months and months. Through this time, i was going thru the death of my husband and the fallout of emotions thereafter. I don’tgo buy cookies, but i found myself binging on keto goodies! Same addiction,different foods …. But i am sure thats all due to my emotions at this point. I am trying not to panic, and also trying to calm down and get thru this with as little damage to me as possible. I too have made the “practicing for maintenance” jokes also. I really figured i was trying to find a happy spot,lol. Anyways, i feel better now after listening to you, and not so disappointed in myself,thanks!

      The main thing is to not give up! When my Dad passed I did the same thing, emotions took over and I gained some weight. But it's long gone now and then some!

    I can totally relate to the sizes thing. I don't think I've ever owned more than 3 pairs of pants or bras at a time my entire life. It just wouldn't have been worth it with the way I used to swing up and down huge amounts of weight. Any time I lost the weight, I'd get rid of the larger sizes but then invariably gain the weight again and get stuck at a high weight for ling enough that I'd lose hope and get rid of the smaller sizes. And on and on it went 🥴 but with carnivore I really feel the loss is final this time, praise the Lord because I don't ever want to do this AGAIN lol

    I juggled the same 20 pounds for over 2 years. I was so distraught. Watching everyone within the carnivore community losing and reporting the best health and weight loss. I just couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. I cut out EVERYTHING. No dairy, no caffiene, no processed meats. Literally eating beef, eggs, and occasional shrimp. Tried OMAD, tried upping calories, lowering calories, played with macros, PSMF, just couldn't get it together. Finally after adding in some chicken every once in a while and cutting back on the fatty beef i started to see a downward trend. But once again, im stuck. 😅😅. If it takes me another 2 years to lose 20 pounds I'm gonna lose my mind.

      Oh I hear you, lol! Definitely frustrating BUT I would never go back so all I can really do is just stay the course and if it takes 2 years, it takes 2 years. I have yet to see an alternative that I like! Hang in there with me!

    I started my journey 7 years ago at 280lbs. Lost to 150lbs doing on/off higher protein/fasting/exercise etc. I had a major hernia repair and tummy tuck with the removal of 5 pounds of excess skin/pannus. Maintaining the weight was problematic due to a series of unfortunate events (Covid, family deaths and illnesses, stress) which found me at the beginning of 2024 up 70 pounds from my lowest. Trying Carnivore was the best thing I could have done for myself. I lost 50 pounds in six months so now I’m “only” 20 pounds away from my previous low. I have no idea how long it will take, and expect the last 20 to be harder (cuz it was before). The difference this time is I have totally conquered my sugar addiction and am perfectly satiated every single day eating as close to zero carb as possible. These six months have flown by, I have retained and built muscle and feel happy and energetic. I actually think that at this point I have more loose skin than fat in terms of weight to lose and I’m fine with letting the process play out. If there is one thing I’ve learned in the past 7 years it is that stressing, giving up, using food to soothe etc is not helpful. It seems like every long-term carnivore is a glowing example of health and, if anything, TOO SKINNY! So just stick to the regimen, get enough sleep, find productive ways to handle stress, lift weights and walk/swim. Eventually you will either get to goal or find that you don’t need to weigh what you weighed in high school to be happy.

      Yes I do and it does help everything but it doesn't solve everything when at age 66 you have been obese for a good 50 years of your life. Overall I am very grateful for how far I have come and what I have overcome!

    The reason I get stressed about it is I am insulin resistant and apparently that is linked to nearly all health catastrophes. I have been eating keto and carnivore for 3 years. Not only have I stalled but gained 20 lbs . I am not overeating so 🤷‍♀️

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your first battle is to do whatever you can to get that insulin down. Look into Dr. Ben Bikman's Insulin IQ series of videos, there are things you can do to get that number down so that THEN you can start losing.

    I could most definitely relate. I only wish they would increase the amount of the ideal weight table. Then the last 10-20 lbs wouldn't seem so out of reach if you are stalled

    • @KetogenicWoman
      @KetogenicWoman  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't even look at the ideal weight table! I am 30 pounds away from MY goal weight which is 25 pounds higher than what they say I should whoever THEY are! 😂 It is a ridiculously low weight for someone my age IMO!

    • @KetogenicWoman

      145 pounds so far and about 10 years since I started. 10 years seems long but I've had a number of setbacks in that time period (losing members of my family for example). Even small amounts of weight loss add up if you never give up no matter what.
