Growing up there really wasn’t a role model in my experience who was trans, and to see Nia and know that for so many young people she can be that role model, she can be a beacon of visibility, it just makes me happy. As someone who has struggled a long time with my gender identity and even now.. is unsure of who I am, it just warms my heart to know there’s a hero for people who feel the same way.

The episode where they were attacking Nia and the transgender community just for being who they are. It breaks my heart seeing the type of discrimination that Nia and other transgender people have to face. Nia is an AMAZING character and addition to Supergirl! Nicole does an amazing job playing Nia, it's also amazing that Nicole (the woman who plays Nia) is also transgender! She's an AMAZING role model!

Maeve said it because she was upset and angry that Nia got the powers. In that specific episode Nia says her sister had always been her biggest supporter. You can't destroy this no matter what you believe, the only thing you'll succeed in doing showing up as transphobic and bigoted.
