it a crime how many people sleeping on this series! wtf?! this series is soo good and unique and the animetion is soo good! really how people still sleeping on this masterpiece?!!
Regarding their names: It's a (not very subtle) wordplay on the concepts of time and travel. - The given name of Cheng, Xiaoshi, means hour. - Combining their given names you get Shiguang which is a more formal way of saying time, focusing more on the "passing" aspect of time. This is also the "shiguang" in the show's official Chinese title "shiguang daili ren" - Combining their family names you get Lucheng which means "journey".
Thank you very much for the video As a Chinese, I can relate to that disaster better. This earthquake became one of the biggest emotional scar among Chinese of the 80/90/part of the 00 generation. I was trying not to cry too much.
It must have been very hard for you to watch episode 5. Thank you for watching my video. Now I understand why the show placed such emotional value onto the episode, thank you for letting me know.
Cheng Xiaoshi can be separated. Usually when someone's full name has 2 syllables, you say their full name (for example Lu Guang, no one calls him just 'Guang'). But when someone's name has 3 or more syllables (for example Cheng Xiaoshi), you can just say the second part of their name. Saying just 'Xiaoshi' is fine.
Episode 5 of Link Click utterly destroyed me and pretty much left me sobbing on the floor for half an hour. This is the best series (despite being short) that I've seen in the last few years. Can't wait for Season 2 this year.
Omg I so glad that this donghua is getting some recognition. Totally agree with the points you make, some scenes in this show really just kicks you in the guts. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from the emotional harm done to me from episode 5 TvT.
Honestly, i agree it's really slept on sadly i don't see people talking about it at all but since it's a donghua nobody ever talks about it the animation is also different and people mostly judge by animations, so i hope it gets big.
Found this show by accident and I couldn't be happier. The episodes are great and the music is phenomenal. Wish there could be a backstory thing to see how they got their powers or how Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi discovered they had powers at all, but it would disturb the great plot going on. This was my first donghua too.
i also wish they delved into how they got their powers as well. Maybe if we get a seaosn 2 they will explain that a bit more? Or at least more of what happened after the two first met. My assumption is that they discovered it accidentally and if that is the case it would be a fun flashback if they showed how they figured out how their abilities work.
Link Click is amazing and half of the events are real life things that happened some time ago, like the earthquake P.S. I recommand you to check out TGCF/ Heaven Official's Blessing (available on Netflix) which is from the same author of MDZS/Grandmaster of demonic cultivations and publisher team of Bilibili which also produced Link Click, plus MDZS season 3 will coming out soon
Great review. The show did amazingly well in mainland China and the second season is already in production. Hope the continue with the same amount of thought put into each episode of S1
Both the subbed and dubbed are soo good i have never found an anime where both are very well done I totally recommend season 2 came out on the 13th with 2 episodes!! Which was something i wasn't expecting the op and ed is another banger they are so good the first ep of season 2 at the beginning is so sad 😢 but it gets better and then the 2nd ep were left with lu guang in the hospital and red eyed guy by his door so yeaa
Yep, love "Link Click", such masterpiece put together, can't wait for S2. Other suggestion I have for anyone interested in Chinese anime. "To be Hero" is directed by the same director of "Link Click" both Part 1 & Part 2 are pretty good. I would also recommend "The Outcast" and "Rakshasa Street"; these are my two other favor Chinese anime.
OMG yes I started watching when there were only 3 episodes and it's so amazing like this probably one of my favorite shows ever plus the intro's a banger
@@casualfandomview Maybe you should try out Heaven's Official Blessing. Made by the same studio as link click and are based on the novel written by the same author as Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.
Every single good chinese animation (donghua) is criminaly underrated. Not any donghua ia good, therr is just few of them so far, but those bring something good and different, but so sadly no one talk about it.
Most time travel movies or series never explained their own universe logic behind the time travel, that make things either confusing or illogical In link click, the fact that it was explained that as long as major event were not altered, like the certain death of someone, the present will stay the same, makes it standout and less confusing. Simply said, butterfly effect doesn't exist in the time travel or Link Click verse
I agree with all of this dhdhsjd I don't really like time travel and even tho I've been enjoying Tokyo revengers more than I thought I would Link clink hits different. I'm obsessed
got to follow after this good video that got me to check it out I don't really watch non Japanese anime. I've only watched 1 korean anime God of high school this will be my 1st Chinese anime do sports anime, devils line, another Chinese anime; daily life of immortal king and tokyo revengers salam
I was scrolling through Funimation and start watching it. Tbh, the first few episode was just nothing too interesting, but the 5th episodes definitely make the serie really worth watching.
I personally disagree with you about the first episodes because the details of their ability were interesting enough to capture my attention! I haven't seen a time travel show like this before. (and i love this show and the characters a lot) But I agree with you about the 5th episode, that episode really convinced me to make a video on it! I just think more people should watch it!!
it a crime how many people sleeping on this series! wtf?! this series is soo good and unique and the animetion is soo good! really how people still sleeping on this masterpiece?!!
IKR such a shame people are missing this out....
bro i have never seen something like this

Damn!
Yeah that’s right, I thought it was really funny when I was watching the show, I’m glad someone pointed it out!
Thank you very much for the video

Same here, I was a kid similar to Cheng Xiaoshi's age when the earthquake happened and the episode hit so much harder because of it.
I'm not chinese but I remember that earthquake, I remembered which one it was.

Thanks for making a review on this show, I haven't seen many people do it. It's seriously so underrated

Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's friendship is so precious. I love how they balance each other out.
The hidden gem of 2021
Dang as a Chinese this is the only thing I'm proud off

It’s stuff like this that makes me so glad that I
know how to speak Mandarin fluent
I'm so sorry for my terrible pronunciation of their names. I definitely butchered them
@@casualfandomview nah bro you did pretty all right

I agree with all of this dhdhsjd I don't really like time travel and even tho I've been enjoying Tokyo revengers more than I thought I would Link clink hits different. I'm obsessed
this donghua is far better than tokyo revengers
some scenes in tokyo revengers are kinda cringe
no hate btw just my opinion
i know what you mean lol. and i def agree, in terms of plot, link click is far more interesting for me personally.
got to follow after this good video that got me to check it out I don't really watch non Japanese anime. I've only watched 1 korean anime God of high school this will be my 1st Chinese anime do sports anime, devils line, another Chinese anime; daily life of immortal king and tokyo revengers salam
