    This one is nice 👍 I think I would have that “flex” room walled on the side by the kitchen, then put in French doors, take out those wine racks and TV, add book shelves and call it an office. In the master bath, I would do away with the “little” closet, move the toilet over there, using the current “water closet” area, along with the current shower area and make that a HUGE shower, you know, with a couple rainfall shower heads a couple regular shower heads and a couple of the removable shower heads, a big bench seat and plenty of hidey holes for body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors and all the stuff one needs in the shower. That big closet, needs a few more hanging racks, some built in dressers and shoe racks! All over the house, either make the walls darker or the floor, add a bit of contrast up in there. The MIL Suite, I like where they put the bed, but let’s change that up a little to a Murphy bed, when the bed is put away, there can be benches and that area can be used as a little sitting/reading area, most definitely add a kitchenette in there!!

      This is quite a beautiful and functional home design and I'm in agreement with most of your suggestions. The plan shows the "flex room" with the option for the two interior walls, or not. Either enclose it, as you suggested to create an office space, or I would utilize this space as the formal dining room. The dining room at the back of the house, I would either utilize as a breakfast area or simply furnish it as an extension of the Great Room. I'd also like to see the floors in a warmer color. The Bonus Room is a wonderful addition to the home to use as a separate and private guest suite, with the addition of a small basic kitchen/food prep area. Also very suitable as an in-law apartment, if the stairs aren't an issue or the space could even generate income as an Air B&B. Also, an excellent music room, separate from the home, if you have rockers in the family. My only other must have is a full basement, since I've never had a home without one.

      @bonnabrimhall8080 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chrisgraham2904 I like the way you think!! I do like the formal dining room idea, but would be impractical for me and my family, the office would be used quite a bit as my roommate works from home and her daughter is home schooled. As for using the bonus room to get your rock on 🤘, I like that idea, a lot!!
      I could set it up for the boys and they could have a safe place for their guitars, amps, mics, drums and all the other stuff they need! I really do like that idea, and my son’s band mate could have his basement back, I sure his wife would absolutely love that!!!! Have a great day, stay safe while ringing in the new year!!!!

    Nice house. However. The in-law suite: how would you open/close that window above the stairs? I did notice no micro, but that little nook by the fridge is a good spot. And the laundry room: knowing it's a model, I would hope they put in the laundry hook-ups and dryer vent after the sale. Definite possibilities.

    Definitely a dream home! Not much room for improvement other than adding room for a freezer in the pantry and some lower cabinetry to make it into a butler’s pantry, enclose the “flex” room to make it an office, enclose the breezeway so I don’t need a jacket to go outside, add a patio for the catio, add an island and custom closet organizers to closets and no carpet! Love the rest though and it would be perfect. Especially love the MIL suite above the garage with a cute little kitchen in it (IKEA makes amazing little spaces for someone to prepare a light snack and have some food items on hand). Love it ❤. Great job!

    Love the 'bonus room'/MIL suite. If Schumaker could finagle the layout to add a closet in that area, it would be ideal for a rental unit with the separate outside access. In today's economy, that would make the home a lot more affordable. Also ideal for YAs still living at home while in college, etc.

    It is a beautiful home! I would extend the back patio and screen it in for refuge from the flying critters. The in-law suite should be tweaked to have a kitchenette, as you say, plus a closet. If the suite is meant for elderly folks who may have mobility issues, it might be useful to think about installing a lift of some sort. That huge master "closet" could actually become an office or a study or even an exercise room.
    Timothy, the quality of your videos is greatly improving. The intro montage of the exterior with voice-over is far superior to your walking around at the beginning and yelling over the wind and traffic noises. It is nice to have music in the background while you tour the interior. In the spirit of helping in your continuous improvement, you need to be more focused during your filming. Your narration needs to match the video. You should not be mentioning the lack of a microwave while your camera is in the mud room. You need to make your comments on the actual room where you are at that moment. Comment on room size, potential uses, type of furniture, perhaps even options that you have researched for that particular builder. I think this might address the shaky camera comments that others have made. Also, the montage at the beginning showing the different elevations moved way too fast. There must be some minimum time, like 3 or 4 seconds, that allows the human eye to take in the image. Keep on with your continuous improvement.

    A very nice place. I'd rather go for the home as in the plans rather than the toured home.
    I'd want a basement so in the Flex Room area a nice set of stairs could be put in. Not sure what to do with the rest of that space right off the top of my head.
    The missing microwave could be fixed by putting in a full size oven with a microwave over it rather than two ovens. I've seen that combo in others. The back shelves in the Pantry need to be a bit deeper and have plugs on that wall at the second shelf level. That way you could do a Crock Pot, Instant Pot, or maybe a Toaster there.
    In the Master I'd have that bump out where the tub and vanities are go out a little further. The one wall of the WIC near the shower I'd want moved maybe 3 feet. Then the shower could be wider. Using that existing semi Coat Closet and some added space by moving the WIC wall a nice size Coat Closet facing the Foyer could be added. That door to the small closet would be deleted, a nice piece of art could be placed there across from the Master entry. You'd still have a huge Master WIC.

I’d also want the garage doors on the opposite side. I don’t want the driveway in front. I love a good breezeway. There is a lot of wasted space in that master closet! I’d reconfigure it and also add a little bit more room in the shower. Love the bonus room. Take the bed out and it could be the teenage or college age hangout. It could also be your home office. You could have a sofa bed for guests. My daughter is in college and going on to vet school. She would want it but we would never see her if it had a kitchenette. All she does is go to school, study and work.

    Hello Timothy! Hope y'all had a nice New Years Day! Good video. This is a very nice place! Some of it I love and some I don't, as usual. But surprise, surprise! The commode area in the Master Bathroom actually looks like it is perfect for me to sit comfortably!! That doesn't happen often! I'd have to replace the tub with a Handicapped Tub, which is a shame as that tub in the Master's Bathroom is a nice one. The Tile Shower would need a bench, but at least it does have a door this time. We don't really need a his and hers Closet as that one is so big. So I think we'd use the smaller closet as a storage room; unless we can use it to extend something in there. Mmmmm. Ideas going through my head!! I don't like Jack 'n' Jill bathrooms! I would change that if possible. Actually I'd probably end up combining those two bedrooms, And the bathroom, and make them into my Library Music Studio Rooms. Love there's a Pantry! But would want a gas cook stove. And yeah, I'd put the microwave on the counter somewhere. I don't like the sink being in the island, but in this case there's nowhere else for it to go, so no deal breaker. Not sure what I'd make of the flex room. Husband said something about closing it off and making it into his hobby room. I was thinking about making an office for the two of us. But if he wants it for his hobby room, the office can be added to my Library. On the other hand, that room above the garage would make him a good GYM or hobby room. Or it could be finished off as a studio apartment. You'd probably need to extent the apartment a little to make room for an apartment kitchen and small closet in the bedroom. But it would make a great rental space if you did. Oh course, as it is it would make a good place for an older kid if you had one, one that's a senior in HS or just starting college, living at home, and needs their own space. You'd still need to add a closet, but the kid would more than likely eat with the family in the main house. Of course, as a rental apartment, or a place for your older child, I'd put a lock on that crawl space door! That detached garage would work for me only if we added an enclosed walk area to the back door! But it is nice looking, especially with the extra living area above it!
    Anyway like I said, good video and pretty nice place. Don't like the price, but as we can't buy right now anyway, I suppose it doesn't really matter. God bless you and your family, Timothy!

    Beautiful house, however, we don't have places like that here in Norway, so this migth sound like a stupid question - But, what happens to these model homes (that are built an what doesn't look like a residential area) after a few years, when it's "outdated"?
