    As always I appreciate your videos and products. I would recommend that you spend time discussing with your staff what size TTI to recommend to customers based on the baffle size, the cases where the TTI will be installed in the baffle. For example, 4" pipes with baffles attached to the tips do not take 258's. A conversation about what questions to ask the customer to determine correct sizes would save time and money. Thanks again!

      Good to hear you're liking the videos and our parts. We appreciate your business.
      Thank you for the suggestion.👍
      If your baffle is, say 2" in diameter, then a LT 158 would work in the tip, right behind the baffle.
      A 258 would also work in that 4" diameter tip.
      A 158 mounted in the actual baffle end would also work.
      All those set ups will work to deliver about the same amount of increase in torque. They would also each sound a bit different.

    What size would you recommend for the Hard Krome 3" Big Straights, I'm guessing they would need to be installed at the tip mounting point as the baffle insert mount is a bit hard to access inside the exhaust.

Running S&S 585 cams on my TC110 Dyna and while the cam is great, doesn't really come on until 3k rpm and up. I'm running Rinehart Crossbacks which I think are 2". Reckon the TTi 158's are the way to go? Cheers!

      And back pressure

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is because backpressure is bad for power. Backpressure is a power robber. It, literally, makes the engine work just to get the exhaust out.
      Additionally, backpressure prevents a full combustion chamber fill in the intake stroke.
      Here is a video by master engine builder Gale Banks on the subject that you may find helpful - th-cam.com/video/mZ53YO_RZ0E/w-d-xo.html
      The Thunder Torque Inserts utilize a patented design that works 200% - 500% better than lollipops or cones. The unique shape Speeds up Exhaust Gas Velocity, in addition to reducing/eliminating reversion.

      I have seen kickstarters for the late model Sportys. If you do a google search for "2007 sportster kick start" you will see quite a few different conversion kits. We have no experience with these, so cannot say how well they work, or hold up, etc.
      I thought about doing it quite a few years back to one of my Sportsters, but never pulled the trigger on it.
      It would be cool though.

    If you install these, do you have to re-dyno tune your bike? I have Tab 4.5" and started out with Zombie baffles and had it dyno tuned but after a year of riding it was just too loud so I pulled the zombies out and installed the 2.5" baffles (medium) and had it re-dyno tuned. It lost 7HP and 5TQ but now the sound isn't unbearable and pretty good. I was just wondering what size you'd recommend for the Tabs and if I would need to retune the bike (the speed shop charges a couple hundred bucks since it's a trike.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, you will not need to re-dyno tune your bike to install and feel the effects of the Thunder Torque Inserts.
      Is the inside diameter of your baffle 2.5" ? I will need to know that to help you choose the correct size.

    Been told true duals such as V&H Dresser duals will lose power on low and mid range torque.
    I've been listening to alot of video sound bites of exhaust tones, I find CFR mufflers really hit home for me. At least from video sound I feel they have the low tone deep rumble I'm looking for.
    So now I'm sitting with 2 items in my cart, items that I am told will lose torque and hp low to mid range.
    My questions are;
    1. Have you ever installed TTI on a set of CFR mufflers? Can the baffle come out and bolt to that vs drilling through the exterior pipe?
    2. My bike is stock, FLTRXS 103HO, I purchased your 828 AC with transformer, external breather with catch can.
    With the AC, dresser duals and CFR mufflers & TTI (if they can be installed in CFR's) am I going to lose low & mid range torque below stock performance or am I not going to gain as much from this stage 1 vs a stage 1 if I used different components?
    I am not a hot rod rider, just started riding my wife on the back and we plan to go on some weekend type trips. The power the bike has in stock form seems to be fine as it is although we have not been on an interstate trying to pass cars yet, so not sure how she would perform at that. I have put about 30k miles on the bike riding solo usually cruising under 3k rpm, shifting right around 3k. With the wife on the back I've been trying to adjust my riding style to cruise around 3-3.5k and shift 3.5-4 k rpm. Seems to have a little more response up there.l
    3. Do you by chance have any Dyno logs of a 103HO, dresser duals, CFR's, stage 1 AC? Would love to see what I am looking before stepping into it.
    Thanks for the videos, great information. I'm learning so much about my bike that I had no clue. Really appreciate it.
    Take care.
    If you do have a Dyno logs, I can email you about it.
    Thanks again

      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have not personally worked with CFR slip-ons, but we have had quite a few Customers that have and are happy with the low & midrange Torque gains.
      All the CFR's we've seen have just a mesh holding packing in-between the mesh and the wall of the slip-on. That mesh is welded in, so not really removeable. The TTI's on CFR's get mounted in the End Caps.
      With the 828 and Transformer, you are going to gain torque & hp across the RPM range, regardless of the exhaust you use. However, you will gain even more with the TTI's in your dresser duals/CFR combo.
      To be clear, with the dresser duals/CFR combo, along with the 828 & Transformer, you will have more low and mid range torque than with the stock set up.
      Another thing to note, regardless of the exhaust, you will need to use a Power Vision, FP4 or ViED's for your tune. All Twin Cams, since 2007, run too lean from the factory.
      That is a good change you did with your RPM's. Twin Cam's generally produce the most torque between 3000 and 3500 RPM.
      We have never had a bike with CFR's on the dyno, so no charts from us on that.
      Last thing to note, the following video link is the only way we know to choose the "right" slip-on the first time (unless we got lucky). I think you will find this video useful- th-cam.com/video/H681dl2X_f4/w-d-xo.html

    what if I put it just before right muffler on a decat stock rg exhaust headers running 4 5 in VH.. Idea to get more flow out the left muffler

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Reversion, which robs power, occurs at the tail end of the exhaust, where it hits the outside atmosphere. The TTI's are designed to reduce/eliminate reversion by being place near the end of the exit end of the mufflers. That will speed up exhaust gas velocity (including on your left side muffler). Here is a video that goes into more detail on the subject- th-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/w-d-xo.html

    OK another question in the documentation it says I think 1 inch to 2 inch of one and a half to 2 inches from the end that was at the end of the baffle or the end of the exhaust pipe for the end of the pipes end cap

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to get as close to the end of the pipe as you can, when the energy pulse hits the outside atmosphere, that is when reversion occurs, which is what slows down exhaust gas velocity, which limits the intake charge, which reduces power.
      Here is a link to a good video explaining...it has an excerpt from S&S showing how the pulse slows down velocity, reducing power.

    • @DKCustomProducts

      There are a whole variety of reasons this could be happening. First thing that comes to mind is an intake or exhaust leak.
      Another thing is talked about in this video, which is pretty common- (high idle discussion begins around the 4:28 mark) th-cam.com/video/T2aG284iCKc/w-d-xo.html

      Not sure what you last did to the bike, but if is putting in TTI's, there is nothing about installation of TTI's that would affect the idle (unless an exhaust or intake leak started from the work being done)

    2 1/2 inch baffle keep the baffle in and remove all the stuff around the baffle and reinstall it in install your product into the baffle so it’s inside the muffler flip on whatever you wanna call it and it’s screwed to the baffle inside so you don’t see nothing outside to look through it how’s that thought?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is exactly what we said and showed an example of in the video. That is a great way to install the TTI's if you want to keep the baffle in the muffler...and you don't even need to remove that batting from around the baffle if you want to leave it in. This is shown at the 1:08 mark, and then explained and shown at the 5:30 mark.

So my ? is, or perhaps the answer is to remove the baffle and attach the TTI to the baffle and then put them back into the slip on (pipe). and cut down the screw if needed to fit into the housing. ???almost there guys, I do like the product. just checking thanks

      @@edwardmarin-8pqb141 You can definitely use a 158 with the baffle, using the TTI to secure the baffle instead of the bolt the current secures the baffle. Or you can remove the baffle and use a 258 in the can.

      To add low and mid range torque, while not restricting higher RPM power.

    Too bad they will not work on my stock Freewheeler...

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, TTI's are of no benefit on stock mufflers that have not been modified. Below is a video link on why and how. Also explained in that video is why OEM exhaust robs power and build damaging heat.
      th-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/w-d-xo.html
      HOWEVER, your stock mufflers, with a slight modification, will out perform 90+ percent of all the aftermarket slip-ons available. Here is a video link showing that- th-cam.com/video/cOs1-bTPycU/w-d-xo.html
