Same, but i bought the SL2 to get maybe a bit of a better time, cause of the racefoam, i will see whats better. But after i bought the NB4 ... dude my PBs are rockin
I got a trail version of novablast 4 and love it for gravel roads. Provides great cushioning, good enough protection and traction not bad in trail versions. I am bigger by running standards and foam is just awesome for bigger or stronger heavier striking runners.
I agree with you that the novablast isn’t very breathable in hot weather. I love running in them but just to hot in the summer so I had set mines aside I’m thinking until the fall. Using Nb rebel v4 which are so light and I can actually feel air flow into the shoes as I’m running. Considering the SL2 now if they are breathable to pair with the nb Rebel this summer.
Just got my Croc slides and my feet are so fn happy reminds me of the squish of fresh foam x compound ...ty yowana one love brotha. keep pushing out the bangers greatest long content shoe king on youtube.... bow to king yowana
I've done 1000s of miles in noveblasts 1 2 and 3 and love them. Just started using Adidas shoes and found the Boston 11 bouncy but doesn't bottom out no matter how far you go , so know what you mean . 👍

If you want good stability and cushioning definitely go for the novablast! It will work for your speed training if you are doing some occasional sprints, and it will be much more comfortable for everyday
I prefer the NB 3 than the 4. The NB 3 was more agile, poppy, and more versatile. Now if you compared NB 3 and SL 2, the comparison would be very similar. The reason I bought the SL 2 is because it reminded me of the NB 3 but the foam is bouncier. The NB 3 doesn’t have as fast of a rebound as the Lightstrike Pro. The Novablast 4 feels a bit clunkier in my opinion just good for easy runs and uptempo efforts. Definitely great for marathon training to log in mileage. But I wouldn’t take it for workouts. The SL 2 could be taken for workouts because of how agile it is. Also did you experience a popping sensation with those cutouts on the bottom?
I first got the Novablast 4 TR, later super cherap a brand new NB2. Also an ok shoe. Then I tried the NB3. At first i thought hmm, yeah, more of the same (novablast), but wobbly and more unstable in the heel than both NB4TR and NB2. After 2 runs on flat asphalt I sold the NB3, while keeping the NB2 and running in the NB4TR. I never had the NB1 on my feet, but between NB2, NB3 and NB4TR, the NB3 is the worse shoe (for me at least). I mean, there is no huge difference in the feeling of the bounce, the ride etc, but the NB4 is much more stable. It feels like having rails, but without noticing it. Just in direct comparison after running in the NB3. For me, I stay with my NB4TR and looking forward to the NB5 if they are not too soft and WAY less stable than NB4. As for the rest: I also have a Superblast and other shoes like a Mach 6, Noosa Tri 16, Nimbus 26 (which is shit for forefoot striking), Ghost Max 1, T20 runshield, T21, etc, even a GT2000-10 (1+12 are wider and harder, #12 way too hard! #13 i don't know).
A comparison of like to see is the Novablast 4 vs the Supernova Rise. I currently have 15 miles on my SN Rise and have concluded that h the Rise replaces the Novablast 3 for me. Great feeling shoe. Happy Father’s Day!
Interesting thought about the aggressive look of the SL2. On the DOR podcast with the Mizuno development team, they talked about angle of attack as being something separate from drop. Also, Happy Father's Day to all of us dads.😀

Greetings to all. I would like your advice. I started running more actively and experimenting with sneakers. I am preparing for a half marathon. I have a Vomero 17, a Nimbus 25 and today I bought and tested the Adizero SL2. Vomero 17 - soft, stable, I like them for easy runs. I was excited about the Nimbus 25 at first, but now they seem cumbersome and very slow. SL2 - excellent: today both the pace improved, and the speed, and the heart rate did not increase. My question is, should I replace the Nimbus 25 with something else for slow recovery runs? Are they not needed at all with Vomero 17? And what sneakers would you recommend for my collection to close all questions? I will be very grateful.
100p. that's an awesome rotation - will have you covered for every run of the week. then if you are racing you could add a shoe like the saucony endorphin pro 4 for races and fast long runs but for everything else those two will have you covered
A comparison to the Invincible 3 could be very interesting. Both soft superfoams. One uses a carrier to add ‘some’ stability, the other makes it super wide for same idea. Both comfortable, fastish shoes.
How would you rate the SL2 for workout sessions with tempo runs ? Right now I use Mach5 for everything from HM race to 10k race (pace) and shorter VO2max intervals which I almost never run. Need a new non plated light speed shoe basically and the current SL2 90€ deal is great.
Happy Father’s Day!!! Question! This isn’t regarding the two shoes or shoes in general lol! I’m buying a watch to replace my Apple Watch! Coros pace 3 or garmin 265 I’m torn. Any advice? How do you like your Coros?
I haven't tried the Garmin but have had a good experience with the pace 3 so far! Has everything I really want in a running watch - reliable GPS, battery life, comfortable to wear - and some other extras that are nice to have as well (sleep tracking, fitness metrics etc). I definitely recommend it especially for the price
Hey Yowana, I’m a 10k down college runner and im trying to decide between a summer work horse for more easy to tempo pace type of shoe, I’ve come down to three pairs, which are the vemero 17s, novablast 4, and the cloud surfer 7; Which one would you recommend??
Only reason I wouldn't get the NB4 just because I heard the traction in wet weather is horrible which makes it less versatile. Boston 12 my current fav but may get the SL2 too, or the Clifton 9 as my 2nd shoe
Did you consider the Invincible 3’s to be awkward to walk in? I felt that “machine gun to kill ants” analogy when trying to walk around in the Invincibles
If you like soft and bouncy shoes you could rotate them, but they are really similar. I personally would use them for the same type of runs, so I'd rather get a different shoe, maybe something more cushioned and comfort oriented like the new balance 860 or Asics novablast 4, to pair with either of them
Im currently running in a pegasus 36 that I got unused at a cheap price recently. Would the SL2 be a worthwhile upgrade? I am torn between it and the mach 6
The SL2 would be a great upgrade. Mach 6 is also great and you can't go wrong either way - but coming from the Pegasus I'd recommend the SL2 as it has more of that traditional everyday running shoe feel. Mach 6 has a more aggressive feeling that encourages me to run fast, so I wouldn't want to run in it everyday. I ran in the SL2 everyday for a week and it was great for that
13:40 exactly my thoughts. novablast 4 doesn't have the blast(😂) unlike the 3 and 2. one of the most disappointing shoes for the year imo. and the added stack height is just totally unnecessary. It feels like a max cushioned shoe now.
Surprised that you said the Adizero SL2 was super soft and NB4 was more form. Would’ve guessed vise versa since the Adizero SL1 is hella firm fresh out the box and the NB3 is hella soft
Yeah they completely changed the SL. V1 was hard as a rock and v2 is a marshmallow - wild transformation. I didn't try novablast 3 but the 4 is definitely firmer than the SL2
Does the SL2 have the same broad forefoot base that the SL1 has? I've liked the narrow heel/midfoot and broad forefoot that the Boston 12 and SL1 have.
The novablast series got nerfed as more iterations came. It started as a fun bouncy shoe and reviewers cried about it and now it's more "stable" than a 4wd vehicle. Every new version reviewers keeps praising its "improved stability" which I have now taken to mean fun destroying. Version 1 was and will ALWAYS be the best, hence why I love the Superblast, being the closest to it in terms of fun.
You'll love the SL2 if you're looking for that fun and wild ride. I didn't run in the previous versions of the Novablast so can appreciate the 4 for being a stable workhorse - but it is most definitely not fun and bouncy
For the price difference the SL2 is hard to beat. It can do any type of run and feels both fun and comfortable. The superblast 2 will probably (almost definitely) be more comfortable and feel better for the later stages of a 20+ mile long run - so if you're doing a lot of these then maybe the extra money is worth it for the superblast. But for most people the SL2 is a great buy and more than enough comfort and cushion
I didn't run in the 3 but I've heard it's a lot bouncier. If you want something a little lower stack with that bounce I would look into the hoka Mach 6 or Adizero SL2
@@supwell I first got the Novablast 4 TR, later super cherap a brand new NB2. Also an ok shoe. Then I tried the NB3. Hi, which running shoes you consider the direct equivalent to SL2, but with more "stability qualities" as possible for a shoe in this category? I've been running with SL2 in my rotation, but struggling with its narrower arc and heel outersole geometry. It insists to drive my feet to the inner side of the shoe, tending to a little pronation. have got some similar report from other ruuners about this shoe. What I missed in this shoe is a more anatomical shape of the insole, like the previous version, or like the Boston 12, or it could even have a shape that was more friendly to the curves of the foot, like the intermediate Asics at least...Cheers from Brazil!
Brooks Hyperion 2 GTS is the only true stability option in the category. The foam is firmer than the SL2 but it still has a nice bounce and is great for speed as well as time on feet - that would be my top pick for you. You may also have better luck on a plated shoe like the puma deviate nitro 3 - it has more stability built in from the carbon plate
SL2 feels more versatile than both. It handles relaxed paces a lot better and doesn't encourage me to pick up the pace when I'm trying to hang back. Speed 3 has more of a rolling ride to it which is fun. I didn't love the speed 4 but people enjoy the bounciness. I would personally take the SL2 if you want something to handle most of your miles. Speed 3 if you want something mostly for fast running and speed 4 only if you're looking for a dedicated workout/speed training/race shoe (I don't recommend the 4 over the 3 though especially for the price difference)
Novablast gets higher reviews generally from midfoot strikers due to the "trampoline pod" landing pad in the front. It's not as fast and fun as the SL2 though - if you're looking for fast and fun I'd go for the sl2 or Mach 6. Mach 6 has more of a rocker that's ideal for forefoot and midfoot strikers but the SL2 is a little more versatile
@@supwell I think i'm sold on SL2.. BTW, my Puma Deviate Nitro 3 just arrived and they're INSANELY narrow. I have narrow feet and these are just ridiculous. Would SL2 run a bit wider through the midfoot?
@@trev_941yeah the deviate nitro 3 is awesome but the fit and upper is so weird. SL2 is a lot more comfortable fitting. Some people are going up half a size but I went true to size and it fits well

I'm all about shoes that can be used for running and occasional casual use. I'm getting my SL2 delivered on Monday.

@@supwell I first got the Novablast 4 TR, later super cherap a brand new NB2. Also an ok shoe.
Then I tried the NB3.
When is the next supwell track video coming out?
We're dropping heavy this week over there! Stay tuned
Novablast for me because it comes in Wide.
I'm guessing they will have SL2 in wide soon as well! They offered the first SL in wide
@@supwell thanks!
Love that sl2 color
The SL2 white colorway with black stripes is even better
The Lucid Lemon SL2 colorway Yowana has is even brighter in person. Same color as I have. Looks great in those early morning runs.
Novablast 5 is coming.
Really, they just dropped a bunch of new colors for the 4 so it must not be coming soon
What if I only run a few miles at a time every other day?
I'd suggest the SL2 - its perfect for that. Versatile and fun. The novablast 4 is more cushioned and a little too much shoe for that
SL 2 is only $91 right now, no brainer purchase
Happy Father's Day!!!!
Thank you!!
Kinvara 14 can take the sl2!
SL2 vs Endorphin speed 3 vs Speed 4 ??
SL2 feels more versatile than both. It handles relaxed paces a lot better and doesn't encourage me to pick up the pace when I'm trying to hang back. Speed 3 has more of a rolling ride to it which is fun. I didn't love the speed 4 but people enjoy the bounciness. I would personally take the SL2 if you want something to handle most of your miles. Speed 3 if you want something mostly for fast running and speed 4 only if you're looking for a dedicated workout/speed training/race shoe (I don't recommend the 4 over the 3 though especially for the price difference)
Do vs Boston 12s
Did that one last week! Adidas Adizero SL2 vs Adidas Boston 12

Boston 12 vs SL2 up next!! Lol
he already did that.
I really don't need another daily shoe, but man the SL2 is so tempting. But I really should wait for a good speed shoe.
👍🏻
Have you seen the Adistar BYD? What the hell is Adidas doing?!
Hahaha yeah it looks wild. I'm hoping to try it once it's available in the US
Either of these shoes better for a midfoot striker than the other?
Some people are going up half a size but I went true to size and it fits well
@@supwell Amazing. The GOAT shoetuber just keeps coming with the bangers even in the comments
Man i just love the novablast 4 upper, adidas dont come close
Eh
Nike left the chat 😂
