Long video form is the best dont let people discourage you. I'm from the carolinas too and my buddy is a runner in the Kannapolis area..I'm going to tell him to check you out.
Is it good for easy runs? I'm a beginner runner (I'm only resuming my running habit after 5 years of hiatus, so better start from scratch) trying to rebuild the running habit. Also I need it for a do it all shoe
Two of my favorite shoes right now. I use the Supernova Rise as a long, easy/recovery shoe and the SL2 as an uptempo daily trainer. Excellent shoes at an excellent price. Mystery Shoe: New Balance Balos
I dont want to be critical but you should tell your boy at supwell track to be more confident he has the knowledge and is doing well we just need the supwell swag and confidence love the vids and direction both channels are going I often find myself rewatching videos even the long ones
I'm gonna buy both shoes ^^.(tried SNR at Adidas shop already, but not yet for SL2) Thru your review I cemented my decision is right. SNR will be used for LSD, slow jog, and the rest Marathon training from E to T pace will be done in SL2. Other session will be done in my Takumi 9 and Boston 12. (I'm quite hype seeing my shelves having all these shoes in coming times)
Loving your channel Yowana!! You introduced me to Tracksmith and I am really enjoying the Elliot Runner for my walking and running use. Thanks again. 🙂
Big shout-out to the hawk chilling at the stop sign around 21:05! Considering the current trend, I'm anticipating that the SL3 will be at least as impressive as the AP3. :D
Thanks! I just bought myself the SL2 after debating myself, because I was going for the SPR as ´´a freshman on running, the price makes the difference bc somehow the SL2 was in such a good one, I hope I didn't make a mistake bc the supernovas seems to be a better one for beginners, Saludos de España✌
Hey Yowana, big fan of yours from New Zealand. I appreciate you putting in the work with the shoes for your authoritative reviews. Your passion and work ethic is the point of difference. Did you get the SL2 in the same size as the Boston 12? Some commentators are saying they run a little short.
Thank you! And yes I got them in the same size as the Boston and they both fit comfortably. They are definitely a little more snug than the Bostons but I've put almost 100 miles in them and don't have any discomfort/blisters etc. You could go up half a size if you want extra room but will probably be okay in the same Boston size
SL2 was def soft and comfortable. Great shoe for those easy days but didn’t give me enough forefoot cushion and pop. Too soft. Def gives you the pop if you heel to toe strike. Prefer the B12 as a higher mid/forefoot striker.
I'm curious how the Hyperion 2 (not Max) will stack up against the SL2 with the DNA Flash v2. You're one of the few who have tried that foam, but with a plate. I find the Hyperion Max v1 so comfortable and they filled in that severe heel bevel, which may make it a better walking shoe, too. I'll guess Balos for the mystery shoe. I've seen reviews on the Hyperion Max 2 & SC Trainer v3. P.S., please watch your hydration & electrolytes in this heat.
If your foot is even slightly on the wider side you'll have to go up a half size on the SL2. I always wear 10s/10 1/2 in all my shoes. For the first time ever, I had to go up to an 11 with the SL2. My big toe was about to bust out the front side and my side of the foot felt like it was hanging off the edge of the shoe in a 10 1/2. To give context, I wear 10 1/2 in the Bostons and the ultraboost.
Completed a track workout last night 16x400, 300x5, 200x5, 100x5, followed by 10 miles this morning, SL2 held up well Any chance you can sang the Hoka Skyflow and Rabbit Sky Chaser for review
Amazing! Glad to hear they're working well for you. And yeee skyflow will be coming in from hoka as soon as they start sending them out. I can add the rabbit shoe to the list as well
I tried Supernova Prima and I really liked it far more than Supernova Rise. I think 8mm drop and more foam changes the dynamics and I like the tongue is not as plush. Even though it is heavier than Rise, personally I think it is more enjoyable over various paces from recovery to tempo. Do you have partnership with Mount to Coast and TYR?
Hi @Yowana i am binging your videos lately haha. I am a true Adidas fan and only running in adidas. at the moment i rotate between supernova for easy and boston 12 for treshold/tempo. Adizero pro 3 for racing and intervals. at 77-81kg i need just a bit of stability. but youre making me really hyped for the SL 2... my boston and supernova both have 400-500km now and i am looking for a new one. do you think the SL2 is a switch and for what type of shoe? my easy or Z2 runs are ranging from 5:30-6:30 with some strides. treshold/tempo is more 3:50-5-min per kilometer. i am 186 with 80kgs atm and a good amount of muscles
Ouuu man that's a hard one. Since I train a lot more than I race I'd probably have to go for something like the SL2 or 860v14 - versatile shoes that are fun and can do some pace but still comfortable for putting up big mileage. Something like endorphin pro 4 could be good too but I think I'd get tired of running in a plated racer everyday
The toe box in Adidas running shoes fit me better than the ASICS, New Balance, Saucony, & Brooks. I am very impressed with the fit. It's like they created the shoes just for my weird foot shape. LOL If you have problems with the toe box fit on the four I mentioned, try out the Adidas.
I swore off adidas after the UB19 & 21, but I've thought about the Rise. REALLLLLLY leaning toward the SL2. How do these compare to the Triumph 20/21? ty
Have you considered an Adidas Adizero SL2 vs. Topo Cyclone 2 review? I really like the Topo Cyclone 2 but for $130 or less and a higher drop, is it worth considering switching to the SL2?
Hi. I've been using the SL (first version) in the size 9,5. But, for running purposes it I should have got the size 10, because my big toe is little pressed in the 9,5 after some time running. So I've ordered the SL2 in the size 10. Could you say the Supernova accommodates the foot in a similar way? Or it has enough room in the toebox that I could use the size 9,5 comfortably.? tks
Sagasu running TH-cam guy loves the Rise. He has a rave review of it worth checking out. I got the SL2 yesterday and took them out for a zone 2 run, in the heat. I had to lace them pretty tight but once I did they felt great. They’re very soft and flexy, way more than I expected. I’m looking forward to more miles in the SL2 but the heel felt like it could’ve had more beef to it, and I’m a midfoot striker not really landing on my heel unless I do it intentionally - we’ll see but that’s the only con I have from the first 45 min run in them. Shout out to the Topo cyclone 2! Fun shoe, fast shoe, lower drop. I like them on the treadmill. I’m 190 lbs and I think I beat those things into the ground, wish it was a bit thicker with that awesome midsole. I hope the Rise is on a massive discount bc I want to try them. I don’t know how you keep making these long videos man lol. But keep it up. Lol
Ayy glad to hear you got the SL2 - that crazy soft and bouncy feeling settled in a bit after a few runs and the shoe got a tad calmer. Btw running warehouse has the supernova rise for $95 right now - but I'm sure if you wait adidas will sell it for $70 at some point 😂
Good to see that someone at some of the manufacturers are thinking about the product and not just about the cost of production..it's a great time for running shoes and gear..and it's great to see new ideas and materials being utilized to make our interests more comfortable and enjoyable..apparently when I asked for some Carolina heat ,you really delivered..after 5 straight days of 92f to 98f it's ok if you dial it down a notch..😂😂..as always thanks for brightening my morning as my 9yr old says, "Come on dad let's go see if the bullfrogs are croaking in the ditch when we run past..thank God for little guys..

Glad to see the Revenge Tour continue because I def pulled the trigger on the SL2! I'm in Canada and we only have the men's version out atm, so you best believe after all this Supwell-certified hype I bought my women's size in the men's shoe 😂 Out for delivery today!! So excited! Works out perfectly cause next run will be more of a recovery/easy effort 👍 Thanks for another thorough comparison!
How is the bounce in the SL2 compared to the Invincible Run 3? I love the cushion of the Invincible but it's heavy. In fact I have two pairs for recovery and casual wear. The SL2 has me intrigued. I picked up the Fuelcell V4 because initial step in felt great but after a few miles I quickly realized it lacked the bounce and energy return I was looking for..... I want a light weight, bouncy shoe that breathes well for summer heat. I'm also a heavier runner, which is why I probably enjoy the Invincible so much. I do have a pair of Prime X Strung 2 which I absolutely love but once again a little bottom heavy.
The SL2 is in between the rebel and invincible in terms of bounce and cushion. Much bouncier than the rebel but not as cushioned as the invincible. If you like the prime x strung but found that too heavy this should be a good one for you - I've had some runners tell me this is a similar but less cushioned feel
Been looking for this one as I'm curious about them though as I still have miles left on both the vomero17 and boston12 I'll skip buying these. I like rabbit shirts and half tights. GU for gels. Gatorade for the electrolyte tablets. Ucan gels for larger more liquid are great too
Tempus is bouncier and has more of a rocker to it. I would go for the Tempus if I were doing a legit workout. Supernova rise is a little more of a relaxed shoe. Also Tempus feels more versatile for different types of footstrikes. Supernova rise feels best for heel striking

I like your long-form videos. They allow you to do in-depth reviews. I don't feel as if there is unnecessary information.
Plus he puts heavy mileage on these shoes, just like us everyday runners do. Really gives a real-world, long-term perspective.
I was just thinking someone should do this head to head. Yowana is on it!
