Everything you said about the feel, the performance, the economy and the comfort you get with this package; I couldn't agree more! I've been fortunate enough to drive the 2023 Civic Si, 2023 Civic Type-R and 2024 Integra Type-S from the Honda Canada press fleet. I have to say that as great as the CTR and ITS are as performance cars, I came out of those cars with the same opinion I went in with: the Si is truly the Goldilocks of the bunch. It's roomier than the ITS and just as roomy as the CTR, it's much more fuel efficient, cheaper to repair and maintain, the power is 2/3 of the way there and is plenty quick enough, the handling is probably on par with the ITS and 9/10 of the CTR. It's truly incredible what they managed to package into this thing. I am the current owner of my third Civic, a 2014 Honda Civic EX 5MT sedan, and I've already decided that out of all of the vehicles out there, this Civic Si is the only one on the market that embodies that same mix of practicality, efficiency and performance as my 2014. It's this Si that will eventually become my fourth Civic and take the place of my current Civic in my garage.
I have a 23 Si and love it. Perfect basic enthusiast daily, one of the last cars that preserves the driving experience. I hit a deer at about 10k miles, so it's had extensive body work. There was a lot of discussion about this in 10th gen but I have heard almost nothing about it occurring in 11th gen. That's not proof it doesn't exist anymore, but it may be less common. It also seemed that tuning was a kiss of death on 1.5 so leaving stock was the way to go.
The SI is a great all arounder, the daily driving costs are much less. I drove a tyoe r and it was fun but i slung a leg around a cbr1000rr and it was way faster and for a performace feel there is nothing that can compare (exept R1)

So would you buy this or wait for the 8.5 GTI and spend a little more? For a Canadian?
I think, just because a car has a square tyre set it doesn't mean that you can easily rotate the wheels. You can only do this (easily) if the car has passive TPMS.
Any improvement on road noise? I know at the end of the day it’s a Civic, but would be nice for highway drives.
I just recently purchased a 2019 Si and it came with heated seats, I didn't know the previous years didn't have them.
I have a ‘23 and do want the temp gauge and shift LED’s/buzzer. Heated seats? I don’t wear a mini skirt, so I don’t need them.
Wow I have the 2024 I should've waited for the 2025 for the coolant temp and shift light
I dig it, but is it still slower than a 2013 Accord V6 Coupe? Such a shame the Accord did away with that lovely 3.5L V6...
I know, this is a Civic. I dig it.
I love the new wheels and updates.
So I got the 2023 sporting touring 6spd. Curious if the cluster would be compatible.
But love the new 25’ Si I think they could’ve done a bit better on the front
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but was the oil dilution problem ever resolved for the 1.5 ?
I haven’t heard anyone mention it in the 11th gen cars
I traded my 23 Si earlier in the year for a Tacoma and how I miss driving this car every day. It’s nice that they’ve added SOME of the features that Canada already has but I can’t help but think if it had all of the features I may have kept it due to it being too much of a loss. Do better for the consumers Honda!
Just purchased the 2024 si 2 months ago seeing the 2025 I didn’t miss out other than new front bumper it’s a-shame Honda removed the FUG light on the 2025
Fug light?
Wish we got this car in the UK
Hows that rev hang?
Never mind, I can see revs aren't dropping..
Talked about it in the video
Canada also got full digital display and foglights even in the previous model
honda def replaced the 1.5t because of the constant head gasket issues. the si and civic are the only 1.5t that we haven't had needed to be replaced. I was curious to see what motor honda would run in the 25 si, the only 1.5t left!
Does it only light up when you redline, just got mines today i love it
good to see a bit more high quality on the civic si from its more fancy integra a spec sibling for a bit of a price increase and the fact its the only traditinal standard transmission honda now left in their lineup other then the type r
if you were to do exhaust, cold air intake, and tune, how much potential HP could you squeeze out of this Si? would 250 be realistic?
Is it possible to find one without dealer markups?
The refreshed front looks similar to an M340i. I can't unsee it now.
If I’m not mistaken, the 1.5 turbo engines in these have oil dilution problems no??
There was a lot of discussion about this in 10th gen but I have heard almost nothing about it occurring in 11th gen. That's not proof it doesn't exist anymore, but it may be less common. It also seemed that tuning was a kiss of death on 1.5 so leaving stock was the way to go.
The SI is a great all arounder, the daily driving costs are much less.
I drove a tyoe r and it was fun but i slung a leg around a cbr1000rr and it was way faster and for a performace feel there is nothing that can compare (exept R1)
How does it do going uphill? And does the A/C blow cold?
SI vs WRX premium , what would you choose ?
man i have the 2024 and wish i would have known the 2025 model would have all that :(
Did you ever experience the steering rack issue that plagued the 2022 and 2023 models? I had a 2022 Si and traded away immediately due to steering stickiness. I’ve heard this was resolved on the ‘24/‘25 models and hoping you or your viewers didn’t experience the sticky steering issue (that resulted in a recall) on this new ride.
I never experienced that. Would like to feel it on a car with the issue though
@@TedwardDrives thanks for response. It’s a bit scary feeling to say it mildly. Have you driven the ‘24 Civic Sport Touring hatch with manual? Was looking thru your videos and found CVT
@@TedwardDrivesit feels like you have lane keep assist is on and you kinda have to tug the wheel in the direction to want to go to “unlock it” and let you turn naturally.
how much of difference in performance do you notice using 87 ocatane vs 91 octane while driving a stock 11th gen si?
Is the infotainment a huge update in speed over previous gen ? Since it is google based does it require internet connection?
Honda isn't "listening" to anyone; every car manufacturer holds back updates to slowly roll out to maintain sales from year to year. Good car, regardless.
Civic Si Hatchback would be perfect for me. I prefer two doors or hatches/wagon body styles
Wish I had just waited for a 25! Oh well
If there is challenge over the engine reliability mark my words Honda takes over all European luxury and sports cars
Do you like this better than Acura Integra? It is same power and both are manual
Acura tends to be more available at dealers and has a better sound system. Just depends what you need and the budget
What you sold your Civic 2022? I saw your video where you teach how to drive manual
Yes I traded for my type R. Lots of videos on that car
Great car despite its somewhat anemic engine. With that said, beggars can't be choosers. Kudos to Honda for not killing this affordable daily commuting manual with amazing handling and looks to boot.
Does the shift light only come on when nearing red line?
Yes they are rpm dependent
You know what temp it was outside during the drive on the video ?
75 or 80ish?
