Has TB made a video on how to match BFS baitcasting rods with BFS reels? Spinning set-ups are not an issue. I want to create a BFS topwater combo but unsure how to match the rod with the reel. Currently using a Kastking Zephyr with a medium, fast rod for small spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, and swimbaits. Thanks for the teaching.
What country are u in, where fall bass fishing is great? My home lake, has been like the dead sea in ohio...nothing busting shad, which are flickering all over the place...seen some gar eating, but the bass seem to have vacated the area...I know they go to Florida in winter, but it's too early for that...they seem to have vanished
@SW_OhioFinesseBandit I'm in southwest Ohio, too 🤣 I probably need to check out some different lakes..the gravel pits i frequent alot aren't doing much, but the multiple 5-8 lb bass in them keeps me going....I may try East Fork, Stonekick, or Grant here next...I like Hueston Woods, just a bit far...u ever tried Rush Run lake?
Western WV has been tough too. I had a couple bomber days.. but others where I fished 12 hours with only one bass to show for it. We have had significant drought here. The lake was naturally down and they haven't even started official drawdown for winter pool yet. Very very minimal inflow in MONTHS so i'm sure the O2 levels are fubar. Still strong stratification/thermocline present at about 26 feet. I keep hoping for some blowout rains to stir the lake up real good.
@ I’ve fished them all.. I live close to Hueston Woods and Rush Run. I’ve fished rush run but without a kayak or small boat it’s hard to fish. I fish more creeks and rivers than lakes.
I'd go with a fishing backpack they hold 4 Plano boxes all your crank baits, jerk baits, etc. in the bottom of the bag. It has 2 large pockets and one small pocket for everything else. If you aren't in the boat you still have your hands free too. Another plus it takes up less room in the boat than my tackle boxes also.
I second the backpack. I use one for when I’m traveling for work. I like to find small lakes to bank fish, and the backpack makes it easy to move around.
What a beautiful morning! However, it looked like you were dealing with post frontal conditions - bird blue skies. Can you comment on how weather conditions may have changed your initial plans to power fish?
You are correct. Definitely post frontal conditions. Weather can affect how active the fish are. I was really hoping to power fish but with the lack of activity from the fish and the weather conditions, I slowed down and finesse fished. As soon as the fog lifted, I could see that there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it warmed up really quickly.
The weather this fall has moved my fish all around .I like the looks of that little xzone bait. Thanks Tim.
It’s a beautiful morning

You know what it means...it's the reason why Tim and Matt moved out from Commie-Fornia to Tennessee.

Nice
Maybe I'll try a spybait this morning on bfs. Ive totally loved the technique so far.
Its so much fun!
Neko rig might be my favorite ever lol
It has its time and place 👍
So in this situation in a kayak without electronics, what’s the play?
Start in backs of pockets looking for baitfish on the surface or active fish chasing bait.

Hasn’t been dead down in SW Ohio. I’ve been on a tear lately

Hey what do you guys recommend as a decent size tackle box. Something that I can put enough stuff for several different fishing methods?
