    Your videos are so beautiful and inspiring. The detail and care you put into each one definitely doesn't go unnoticed. I have a 2013 LR4 with the 5.0 and have put more than I'd like to admit into keeping her on the road. And as insane as it has been... I absolutely cannot believe how much I love the truck. I've probably owned 30 vehicles in my life and none of them have influenced me like this one. Thanks for sharing this!

      Really cool to hear! I do envy the 5.0 petrol you guys have. They're a blessing and a curse, but honestly the best car imaginable for this!

    These cars need love and attention as they age, so cutting corners with cheap “blue boxes of joy” parts will cause them to fail quicker and drive up costs, having to do the same job twice. Use genuine parts where at all possible, get a solid mechanic who knows these cars inside and out, and don’t cut corners, they will reward you for many years to come.

    That wheel set up info was super informative- everywhere I read that the reason for not fitting a bigger wheel set up on my 2016 was because or the size of the break calliper. Now i’m aware that even if I down size the mag (with only a couple options offered on the market) to fit bigger tires I would still need to cut down the frame. Still seems weird that LR would create from factory the only ‘’off road’’ vehicule in production with this 20inch wheel set up and not offer a real ‘’off roarder’’ edition. Love the channel, amazing quality of content, real good narrator.

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks Jay!
      There is few 18» rims that fit over the larger front brakes, and some do grind down the cooling fins on them to fit smaller rims.
      However there’s more and more brands stepping in and delivering 18” options for the D4 luckily.
      265/65/18 and up you do need to modify both the front bumper a bit, and the frame is wise to keep everything working 100% in all conditions. Both in weird angles and in case of a suspension fault.
      The rims I have have a different offset than stock, so they’re similar to using spacers. Which also makes clearance to the frame smaller. So it might me more room with a original offset and 265/65/18 but I don’t know for sure

    • @kndrewa
      @kndrewa ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wondering if you are you running 265/65/18 BFGs on those white wheels Kasper? I love the oem look you've achieved while correcting a bit from the factory which targets more common urban use; your wheel and tire setup is appealing to me for a more classic land rover capability that suits your style of vehicle usage.

    I have always thought that the Disco 4 is the perfect vehicle for overlanding, I very nearly bought one recently being a Land Rover fan and owner of an Range Rover L322 for over 10 years but for me I just couldn’t live with the constant worry of the crankshaft problem. I ended up going to the dark side and buying Japanese for my overland rig. I did a little different and bought a 2016 Subaru outback…..let’s see how it goes.

    Hello. This video is excellent. Thank you. I have a 2013 LR4 and would like to mimic your wheel setup. Is reducing the frame horn by an inch the only modification you recommend while I have the wheels removed? Also, the white rims are beautiful. Who is the manufacturer?

    Hi Kasper.
    Once again loving your videos.
    Couple of questions please.
    What air pressure would you recommend for daily driving on 18s.
    Do you have a video showing cutting the plastic at the front of the wheel arch
    Oh by the way I have same wheels as yours in black but 265/60/18 tyres.
    Thanks.

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers! I’m at 265/65/18 and cut off the lower “lip” of the bumper going towards the wheels. And moved the arch further away and fasting with self tapering screws from underneath! Not filmed it though

    What do you think of ko2 in winter ice conditions? I know nothing can compare to piggdekk, but just wondering about your opinion.

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. It’s obviously not the best on ice and snow, but if you get a good feel of where the limit is. And take the time to air out a bit when needed, it’s surprisingly good! And considering I can drive at full speed on highways during summer without thinking about them. But still air out and drive up super deep snow and slippery ice in -20… I feel like it’s unbeatable just because it can do it all.
      It is a triple peak M+S with “seipa” groves, and I have seen different types further south in EU. So I believe there is different specs available

  • @thomasliersch1518
    @thomasliersch1518 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait so even with the Noroadclub TuffAnt 18" steel wheels and BFG ko2 you HAVE to cut the frame to fit it on a Disco 4?

    • @kasperhoglund
      @kasperhoglund  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not if you order the usual size. But if you want 265/65/18 or bigger. The 265/65 size works well, but will rub on full lock. Which is bad for many reason, but also makes the car not pass MOT/ EU inspection here.
      Now that I have that cut, I can also bump up one extra size with my next tire setup.

    • @thomasliersch1518
      @thomasliersch1518 ปีที่แล้ว +2
