    7:15 Pro gamer tip as someone who exclusively runs Trauma staff for Damnation: You'll want to cast Kinetic Barrage *before* you hit 100%, all while holding down right click. Doing this keeps your max stack Warp Flurry. If you wait till you're at critical and your hands are up about to explode, and then you ult, you lose all your Warp Flurry stacks.

    An alternative to this build that I’ve been running for a while now is Trauma with Warp Nexus and Rending Shockwave, +crit% and +crit damage
    Run force weapon high peril feat and utilize high peril for some chunky Trauma blasts, exploding Crushers and Bulwarks and Maulers with body parts flying everywhere.
    The weapon is noticeably slower to charge without Warp Flurry, but you end up with a good ~30% chance to crit and can balance peril with the threats coming in.
    The trade off here is obviously one of “ammunition” capacity and overall damage efficiencies over longer periods of time vs more front loaded damage to chunk things. With manual Quell speed being fast and providing an animation cancel, you won’t need to quell very much at all to get off another high damage high crit trauma blast.
    And since you’ll be at high peril often, this gives you a built in +25% damage on your force weapon attacks which lets you hit those breakpoints on the force sword without having to roll the damage perks. You can think of it more like high heat Unchained Sienna builds. You’ll blow yourself up a few times learning to play this way, but once you do it’s so sick and the muscle memory kicks in and you don’t even see your Peril anymore, it’s just a feel for attack combos and flows.
    I also find o like Quietetude more as a Toughness regen feat since it can proc off both forms of passive Quell now, and allows you to generate Toughness without a trigger condition, just spam Trauma and quell, or brain burst and quell, or keep running and it will regen itself. Useful on Monstrosities too when you aren’t getting kills, but can’t necessarily get near a teammate (being chased you down a hallway away from team, etc) and it synergizes exceptionally well with the Kinetic Deflection Feat since you can convert that peril directly into toughness, passive quelling of this peril has allowed me to tank Daemonhosts during hordes in hi intensity gauntlet power outages and other really bad situations.

    Funny because I was running pretty much this build from early on and thought people were seriously sleeping on the trauma staff. Everybody liked their lightning bolts and blueflame clouds but the sheer spectacle of the trauma blast throwing bodies around is what first attracted me to it. And then over time learning how versatile and powerful it is cemented it as my preferred choice in near every situation.
    And really grew to enjoy the Mark IV sword when they released it. At first I missed the cleaving of the Mark II, but as I got more and more used to just trauma blasting close enemies (and refusing to take melee weeklies) I have almost no need for a cleaving strike at all. Mark IV absolutely wrecks when I even want to bother to pull it out rather than just head pop a special to keep charges topped up.
    My one big quibble with your build is I'm still not really getting why so many seem to like Kinetic Deflection over Kinetic Shield. I'm almost always taking long range fire that is chipping away at my toughness as I head pop and throw trauma blasts at dug in ranged. The the extra damage reduction on taking toughness damage is always useful (basically equivalent of on average of a full extra max toughness curio) during protracted ranged fights, while KD seems far more situational. Yes there are "oh shit" moments where I'm relying up Deflector on my sword. But as I've gotten better at positioning and pre-reading movement and incoming enemies (vital to playing with Trauma staff/head pop well) those moments are far less than the more protracted range fights where KS is providing consistent defensive benefit.

    • @theactionwindow5008
      @theactionwindow5008  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's cool you're finding success with Kinetic Shield. I never really felt that it ever did enough to warrant using over Deflection. But hey if it works for you it works for you!

    Where you built around your staff I built around my sword and can one shot crushers with ease. My trauma is my support for my sword by far. Laughes in 0 Carapace on sword but still one shotting crushers and melting hordes. Unstable 4.,Slaughterer 4 and Warp unleashed and everything dies in 1 to two light attacks or 1 heavy attack. Low warp resistance on staff allows for fast damage buffs as well as max quell speed to have 50% toughness in 1.25 seconds if needed and then quietitude to allow for always regening toughness in melee. Deflector is a crutch where really the only situation it is useful is if you are being shot point blank by a gunner other than that dodging is literally the easiest thing to do to deal with ranged. Quicken with Kinetic flayer to allow for fast stacks and even more CC that the trauma does not already provide as well as instant 25% toughness if needed every 14 seconds. Combined with kinetic shield so you virtually take little to no ranged damage and to round it off Cerebral lacerations to so I can two shot reapers and dps bosses faster. High survivability and High damage with very fast gameplay.

    Only thing I like doing differently is using Ascendant Blaze on lvl 30, as it allows me to maximise horde/special DPS when things get too overwhelming for even the Trauma Force Staff. Alternatively for huge hordes that are not too tightly packed, making TFS's AoE too weak to deal with them.
    Sure, you lose all 6 stacks but if you hit enough enemies, you get them back pretty much instantly *and* also deleted pretty much everything in your way.
    Other than that, very solid guide, good showcases of how to deal with enemy types. Well done!

    • @theactionwindow5008
      @theactionwindow5008  ปีที่แล้ว

      so generally speaking staves have the fasted peril quell because they have a bonus stat to it called "quell speed". A good habit to get into when learning psyker is to practice quick swapping to Staff (I have mine on mouse wheel down) and quelling with R, then swapping back to whatever you need to be doing.
      This is probably most notable with Brain Burst where I quickswap to my staff to quell between head pops for extra quell speed.

      Well seems like you aren't aware of the fact that every class has hidden stats. The Psyker for example takes 25% more toughness damage. Balancing that out is way better than stacking percentage HP on a low base HP class. You want HP on Ogryn and Zealot. Toughness is there to be used and abused. You can totally stay alive with just enough HP to not die from bleed through damage. And in the long run you're tankier anyways from toughness because it is a resource bar that can be refilled constantly. You don't need items or med stations for that to happen.
      With that being clear, good luck facepalming your way out of your malice runs.
