I have seen that song performed so many times live I hate that song with a passion Charles just made me like that song he should actually be out there doing concerts not sitting inside his home studio on TH-cam the kid is freaking amazing on that bass guitar he should be a rockstar beyond the dreams but I have done over 200 concerts for Bruno Mars
Uptown Funk is a mediocre pastiche of funk from decades before, successful only because the audience was young enough to never have been familiar with the original. With cringe lyrics like name-dropping Michelle Pfeiffer for no reason ("look! I said the name of somebody stylish! I'm cool?!!! Right guys?!!!") it was always annoying as hell. Little wonder that some proper bass playing can improve it.

The best thing about Charles is that he does not take himself so seriously...he is able to be the brunt of his own jokes, and still maintains that magnificent skill. Love the glasses, laughing thru the addition of styles to this awesome song, and generally love everything Charles does. He will revolutionize how all Bassists approach their music for decades to come. Well Done!
