Hello Tiffany, like many, I discovered your channel last night. You thumped my head and made me aware of something I should have done years ago and I ignored it. You set up a wardrobe ahead of time for what ever season we’re in. I do sew, grandmother taught me as she was a tailor and seamstress. She had a small business. No wonder all my clothes are mismatched. I’m organized in perhaps everything but not making a plan for the seasons. The following morning I went straight to the patterns and saw the gorgeous cream trench coat. Always wanted something different, asymmetrical, modern and did I mention gorgeous. I agree on the plaid double breasted trench , I too like the plaid so, I brain stormed and decided to make the cream trench but from the waist up I will cut and add a plaid material which will hang beautifully at the back giving the cream trench a “gorgeous contrast” I have done nothing today but look through my patterns making a fall- winter wardrobe. Thank you Tiffany!!!! 🤩
Self-covered belts! Ah the memories. My grandmother had an entire cottage industry doing this, so she taught me. ❤ Just discovered your channel today. Very entertaining and informative. 😊
One thing about that jacket that has the cape back is that if you pull your arms forward, it's not gonna be so tight across the back which a lot of laser type jackets are so I like it for that reason
Barrel leg pant or fine in teens and young adults. The specialty darts at the back will make fitting a bubble butt way easier. These are easier to fit a full hip-butt figure.
You had me cracking up when you went outside and started fanning yourself! It's hot here in Ohio too but not as hot as it is in Atlanta! The humidity is much less than Atlanta! Great video! There are a couple that interest me but I'm too cheap to pay for them, but I would go buy an independent pattern and pay more so I guess I'll pick up one or two!😅😅😅
I also love trench coats. You really got me going!!! I live in south Florida and would not need it but will that stop me from sewing one? Oh yes I’m going to!😄
Wow, I wore the Diane Furstenberg wrap dress in 1974 or '76. It was comfy, flattering, depending on the print, it could look casual or evening elegant.
I think the bow dress needs a lighter fabric from the shoulder, down at very least on the 'tails'. The heavier fabric on the green dress throws off the balance for me, especially. If the bow and 'tails' used a sheer fabric or lace instead, then the pattern would remind me of some black wedding dresses that alexander McQueen was doing a few years ago (only much more simplified and minus the boning in the bodice).
I remember jeans from the early/mid nineties that had emphasis on big baggy legs and a small waist. Union Bay and Z. Cavaricci were the brands but the shaping had waist pleats and tighter ankles. I’m sure I looked ridiculous but I remember feeling like my waist was small. Of course they were acid washed. Love your commentary!
Actually, she did. but I don't know where the pans or the top are separate. With that. but actually she did wore something in one of the episodes I watched a long time ago. They usually call it a Hostess Ware.
I just found you. Love your pattern reveals. I have to ask, did everybody just die with admiration over Michelle Obama's choice for the night of her speech? She puts the she in chic. I'd love to know more about that outfit. BTW, you think it's hot there; try Albuquerque. Sweltering!
I'll pass on Albuquerque. I wouldn't make it. And yes that suit was gorgeous. I've already seen one sewist attempting to replicate. If I find it again I'll add the link here.
First timer, I like your commenter on the patterns. I have made two pair of barrel leg Acajou pants. First ones were from a linen and they were very saggy. I changed the crotch length and maybe took them in a little, not a bad fit. I really like the pocket detail on the vogue pants…. I’d like the challenge of making the big bow dress but nowhere to wear it and probably wouldn’t invest the $ to try it. 😉. Thanks for sharing your views - stay 😎
I do like the dress you are wearing. Would you mind giving the pattern and number…. I’m going on a holiday very soon and I think it would run up quite quickly…love your channel.😊
I usually drool over Vogue patterns but this collection I can pass over easily. Too fitted, not exciting. I have many from years ago that would still be good for 24. Well, coming from a cooler climate to a hot one, I gave away all my wool fabric and have yet to make the ideal dress for the heat! A caftan pattern I love from years ago is selling for a lot on Etsy...I'd have to adjust it quite a bit as I've grown a lot in all directions! I have a whole box of patterns, lots of costumes to give away or something. Hopefully someone will cross my path so I can give them away, not interested in selling them.
V2043 looks kinda 80s. I have the Lutterloh system and one of the patterns is exactly like it! I’m not feeling the swag on some of these. I need sleek design, and I don’t want to look like drapes, lol. I do like those barrel pants/jeans. Many indie pattern companies have barrel leg pants that came out way earlier this year. I may try the Vogue pattern if I find it on sale.
These were the sales price at the time I was recording this video. Head to simplicity.com to see if they are currently running a sale. If not sign up for their email list so you don't miss the next one!

I'm so glad this helped and unlock this amazing idea!

That's amazing! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Please subscribe
what a fun TH-cam to look at this morning. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mullet suit made me laugh. Thanks again for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Sewing Vogue is a learning experience. You do need to have the Vogue sewing book.
I've never had an issue with Vogue, maybe a particular pattern but not the brand.
Loving the winter white...then the dog jumps on you with muddy paws!🥵
😂
Or you drip spaghetti sauce on yourself.

True!
I actually love the dress with the bows on the front. I think that would be a perfect dress for church during the colder months
I agree. I'm just not into bows 🎀

Good to know.
Thanks for pointing out the good trench coat pattern! Also I agree with you about barrel legged pants - they aren’t for me. Thanks for a great video!
I love a trench!
Lucy did wear an outfit on the I Love Lucy show like this that was dressy. She popped into my mind about the same time you said that!
I love your front door!
Thank you. I do too!
Auntie Mame vibes…first scene in movie at cocktail party, for the vintage skirt slack suit
Gotcha

Right back in the house I go! I think the heat index was 105 that day 🔥
@@TipStitched oh my goodness!

Like checking out patterns with you thanks!
I love the bow dress and the price is great.
Glad you had fun watching

I agree! All the DVF patterns are very versatile, but their similar.
I have an intense dislike for the barrel leg pants; they are so unflattering. Maybe they’d be cute on a toddler but definitely not on most adults.
I've never tried them, but can't see how they'd be flattering on most.
I kept thinking that V2044 would be cute in a plaid with contrasting at the neck and front with only 1 bow at the neck. V2046 is very similar.
I could see that!

I think you're right
Glad i found your channel. I used to sew all the time
Yay! Do you think you'll get back into sewing?
@@TipStitched yes I’m retired now
Great video and comments! What is with all the asymmetry? And you are right about the Mullet Suit. LOL. Nice job.
Thank you!
2015 is the first dress in fact first piece I ever made and that was back in the 80’s
Vogue patterns USED TO BE top notch.
Some still are. But I think since releases are missed.
Loved that dress in your picture. Very cute!
Thank you. It's a Mimi G for Simplicity pattern.

I live for your commentary 😂. Just subscribed!
"they went full mullet!"
Thank you! 😂
they did though 😂
I love the barrel pants.
I'd love to see how you style them!
Love love love this video
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you
Thank you!
I like the style of 2048, but in green, it looks like Tinkerbell threw bows on her shoulder to be fancy.
😂 😂 😂

@@TipStitched I read somewhere it was a Monse piece. And classic Michelle, it was sleeveless. I hope Kamala takes a page from her book.

I prefer sleek too. I've definitely noticed more barrel pants patterns on the last year.
I like 2046 however I Harley ever wear dresses. do you sew for people?
I don't, I do like 2046
What is mikado fabric? I saw it in the description
A heavyweight silk fabric.
I want to order 2 patterns online and so far I can't do it. Is there another place to order or and I call?
What's the issue? You can definitely order from Simplicity.com
Reg #2047 I think I may make this dress but make it into a peplum top so I could wear it for a slightly less formal event. I really love it
That's a great idea!

Is this a retro mid century intro?
I don't know what you mean
