A Darker Shade of Magic is a cool book too. This channel did a prediction on the test ofnthe book after 1 chapter. Check it out! th-cam.com/video/fOHwBjFg6eU/w-d-xo.html
Currently reading Lock Every Door because of your recommendation so Home Before Dark is definitely on my TBR, and also He Started It and The Guest List. I've recently gotten over a THREE months long reading slump but so far this year my favourites are The Simple Wild, The Kiss Quotient, The Bride Test, and Josh & Hazel's Guide To Not Dating.
fyi I just started reading again in 2020 after thinking I hated it for years. I subscribed you and one other booktuber on youtube & have read 20 books so far this year, basically all of them are books the two of you recommended. Thanks for the inspo!
I read The Dream Daughter because of your reccomendation and absolutely loved it! And of course I tell everyone else to read it too! Keep the great videos & reccomendations coming. 😊
I’m so excited for these books but I just have to say you do the sponsorship so well and you seem SO GENUINE about them and I really appreciate that. It actually makes me want to listen and not click through! Infectious 😊😊😊
Hi Gabby i am just finshed The Southern Guilds to Slaying Vampires .This is not a book i would normally choose as i love horror not Vampires but because i watched your book reads i gave it a try and love love love loved it. Keep doing them girl as gave me a omph to read out of my comfort zone and so glad i did.xxx
Some of my 2020 favorites: Verity by Colleen Hoover, Little Women, The Silent Patient, Digital Minimalism, Talking to Strangers, The Fountains of Silence, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Flowers for Algernon
@@sariknops4023 I personally would! I recently just bought my own copy because I've heard nothing but good things and couldn't wait to read it on my own :)
I LOVED Long Bright River! It's one of my favorites so far too. Him and Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, A Little Life by Hanya Yanigihara, Someday Someday by Emma Scott, ACOMAF by Sarah J Maas, Steel Demons MC series by Crystal Ash, Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins, and Marc Jillson and the Gazebo by Anyta Sunday are all high on my list so far.
Gabby just wanted to let you know that on your recommendation I read a Peter Swansong book " Before he knew me". Really enjoyed it, thank you and I would give it a 4 out of 5. This is the second book I have read from your list of books/authors and aim to read 5. Keep the videos coming. At 55 years old your personality is one of the few I can listen to re books without having to turn off. Thanks again, btw I am a black woman and love thrillers but will try some out of comfort zone books.
I’ve read 95 books this year and a lot of them were recs from your channel so thank you for that:) my favorites are we are the ants, autoboyography, this is how it always is, someday someday, birthday and a little life:)!
We don’t really read the same things but I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing what you thought cos whenever I go outside my wheelhouse (fantasy, scifi) to actually pick up a thriller or mystery, it’s likely I’ll pick up something you raved about. 👌🏻👌🏻
I really like when the Booktubers reach some kind of consensus opinion on great new reads - it makes things much easier for me if I see one. I don't feel as if I'm risking anything if three reviewers gave it four-plus stars. Thx
Thanks to you, I have started reading 'What Lies Between Us' and I am absolutely loving it. The book 'Home Before Dark' is definitely next on my list. Thank you for your wonderful videos! 💖
I'm currently listening to The Troop on Hoopla and it's insane!! There were a few times where I was seriously grossed out lol but I can't wait to finish it!
I LOVED Get a Life Chloe Brown and I can’t get to Dani’s story fast enough. Redford Morgan is the man we all deserve, really. The Guest List sounds very Agatha Christie, I’m intrigued!
I've been trying to read little women on and off since april because my stupid ass bought an english copy and that's not my first language. I'm like halfway through and I'm enjoying it but omg it's a struggle with the old writing. Also, I finally read dark matter and it's by far my favorite of the year until this point
i'm a slow and rather casual reader, so i've only made it to 22 books so far this year (and i only really got started on the actual reading part around mid-february). but my five faves so far would probably be: Thomas Mann - *Doctor Faustus,* Italo Calvino - *If on a winter's night a traveler,* Carmen Maria Machado - *In the Dream House,* Vladimir Nabokov - *Pnin,* and Mikhail Bulgakov - *The Master and Margarita*
I read THE ONE as I said. Thank you for recommending it, I am glad I read it. I gave it 3/3.5* because I didn’t like how people changed half way through the book and we didn’t get any hints for suspicions. Their personalities changed so much and it didn’t fit right with me. But, I really love the ending especially last few lines. And I don’t know how but somehow it was easy following all five characters and I managed to remember everything. Also, short chapters are a plus. Why did you like it so much? 🤔 Can’t wait to read more of your recommendations 🥰
Gabby another awesome video! I’m about to read my first Stephen king novel in July and it’s a buddy read. I’m reading mr. Mercedes first! Is that a good place to start?😀
Hello Gabby. I started watching your videos. Pretty cool. I have some books I think you'll like: Foe, the last days of night, city of thieves and thirteenth take. I saw your video you did about the service that recommend books. It was funny and it turned out their selection were not exactly what you were hoping for. So I thought if I could recommend you books based on your vlogs what would they be. So I came up with the list. I hope you'll get a chance to check those out and enjoy them :)
I just read a really good book it’s called How To Hang A Witch. It’s set in Salem and goes into the Salem Witch Trials and it has real people’s play on names. There is also another book in the series called Haunting The Deep it has to do with Titanic. I am not completely sure what it’s about. The author has had family members in each event in history!
I would recommend you romance books but I got a lot of my recommendations from you soooo 🤣 have you read historical romance before though? I read one a couple of months ago and I actually surprisingly really enjoyed it, it was just fun and light to read.
I’m commenting on this kind of late! My sub box has been overflowing with videos and I can’t keep up 🤣. Get a Life Chloe Brown was so good!!!!!! The tree scene had me laughing so hard. I still need to read take a hint Dani brown 😭
Hi Gabby, all the books you mentioned are on my TBR list, you always have the best recommendations. Can you do book recommendations videos based on categories like cozy mysteries/Knives out type/ Who did it type, horror thrillers, domestic thrillers, cute books like Fan Girl type, etc. My favorite books so far are “An Unwanted Guest” bu Shari Lapena, “The Woman in Cabin 10”, by Ruth Ware and “Lock Every Door” by Riley Sager.
What Lies Between Us was a very disturbing book BUT I could not stop reading it. My Mother passed away about three years ago and all I could see was my Mother being held captive and how much that hurt my heart. I’m sure I could have killed someone who was mistreating my mother. Nevertheless, I got my “feels” under control, lol, and trudged ahead. I was so glad I finished this book. Authors get giant kudos from me who can think of shit like this to put down on paper. Five star read!!!
Still hella scared to read The Troop even though I am interested. Love The Guest List obviously, have The Dream Daughter, Long Bright River, and 11/22/63 on my TBR. I gave Home Before Dark 4 stars. I wrote a review on my blog inoneversion.com but I might do a video review too.
Intelligence shining like a bright star ....words flowing like a fast pure stream. I was on the library loan page on one computer and this on the other. I had previously fled a site of someone who reviews books she has not read. Old men and their prejudices. .
I just finished "Bunny" yesterday and what the hell!! The book is so strange and weird in an amazing way.. I don't know what to say about it actually except that it is the weirdest book I have ever read. All of these books are on my tbr I hope I can get to them eventually by the end of the year. Btw your videos are so much fun keep going ❤️👍
Lacie is struggling with loneliness, depression, and anxiety.. flying buildings, floating donuts, eternal night-- the transformation of her eyes into small microscope end-pieces, an old witch who is hunting her, a Scottish alcoholic who picks on her, unsupervised children who are committing acts of vandalism, a gothic couple involved in the planning of a Haunted Cheese Party, the cloudy wit of my dear Uncle Herbert, a homicidal man with a toothbrush, a war between buildings and trees, a talking skeleton having an existential crisis, and the total loss of her sanity within a few or five hours as she searches for a kidnapped donut girl. www.amazon.com/dp/B01C66C8X2
If you're reading a really popular book and you're 65% through but it's taken you ages and just isn't catching you, would you give up on it and start something that probably will grip you? I'm reading a karin slaughter and it's not all it's hyped up to be

A good marriage, home before dark and the guest list have been my faves to!!! Can’t wait to pick up He Started It now ☺️
