I trust your recs so much and I've read a lot of these but some I haven't yet so I'm so excited to start reading them!!! I loved the unhoneymooners too! Thanks gabby :) Also, can't wait for your next month vlog :P
Scythe made my best of the year list too! I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The Passengers is at the top of my list for the new year. Great video, and happy reading in 2020!
My goodness!!! she is so passionate when she talks about books that's its almost relaxing to watch. i am now a new subscriber and you have inspired me to read more in this year 2020.
Good variation in genres and your enthusiasm makes me want to read all of these 🙌 honestly, I've seen a lot of these and no one got me as pumped as you! Keep doing what you're doing, you're great!
So many good books on here! I also really like Lock Every Door, Pet Sematary, Scythe, and A House at the Bottom of a Lake. I still need to read The Turn of the Key because I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. A lot of the others on your list I've added to my TBR!
I'm not a huge fan of romance but you convinced me so bad to read The Unhoneymooners and... Oh. My. God. I - L - O -V - E - I -T. A big surprise for sure! It was the best thing ever 🥰🥰
The Turn of the Key made me want to threw my tablet across the room, twice, because I DIDN’T SEE THE TWISTS COMING!!! This is the first time I give a full 5 stars, not 4.25 4.5 4.75 but 5 STARS.
I was surprised you didn’t list City of Girls because you are the reason I read it. You went on and on about that book. The Nightingale was my favorite from your list.
I've binge watched a bunch of your videos the past couple weeks, and I think you're my favorite book tuber in terms of your recommendations! I have purchased so many based on your recommendations because I love how you describe the plots - it gets me really interested! Also, I know you said in a video you like stories of sisters, so I would love to see what you think of Before We Were Yours. It gutted me, much like The Nightingale but I also felt warm and fuzzy.
Man, I really want to be part of a bookclub/online reading group or something so that I can dive into some great books with other ppl. Any suggestions on how to do that? Great list btw! If you've never read Dan Simmons I recommend checking him out for sure... Drood, the Terror are my 2 favs
My top 10 this year were: 1. Recursion - Blake Crouch 2. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid 3. Dark Matter - Blake Crouch 4. Mrs. Everything - Jennifer Wiener 5. The Light Between Oceans - M.L. Stedman 6. The Silent Patient - Alex Michaelides 7. Forbidden - Tabitha Suzuma 8. Decision Points - George Bush 9. Birthday - Meredith Russo 10. Red White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuintson Loved every one with my whole heart! My favorite character was definitely Evelyn Hugo!
Well, I have already bought several of these books already - because of you - so I already know my TBR for the next few months... you are killing my wallet Gabby!!! But I trust your taste, so I'm good with that!
gabby I love your videos so much!! You're always so excited, genuinely excited about what you read! I feel like you would love Jessica Pennington. You should check out Love Songs and Other Lies and When Summer Ends. They will give you ALL THE FEELS! Another fave of mine this year was Wicked Saints!
Congrats to a great reading year! I had a good one too. I can't even narrow it down to my top 10 or 15 best books. To not make the comment drag on, I'll just say one of my favorite books was White Rose by Kip Wilson. It's a WWII historical fiction book told in poetry. And I found I new favorite mystery series, The Magical Bookshop mysteries by Amanda Flower. Also I heard The Nightingale is set to be a movie with Dakota and Elle fanning as the sisters. I also loved The Nightingale and The Unhoneymooners. I have a lot of the books you mentioned on my tbr. Sorry for long comment.
One, I predicted The Unhoneymooners as your number 1. 😄 Two, I just ordered it on your rec! Has been in my cart for months, since I’ve heard you rave you about it all year. Can’t wait to read it. ❤️
You should read Omens by Kelley Armstrong, it's one of my favorite paranormal thrillers! Also, The Turn Of The Screw by Henry James is a cool book (The Turn of The Key takes inspiration from it and season 2 of The Haunting of Hill House is gonna be based on it!)
Just finished reading The One. I agree, when i read this book it just remind me of black mirror. Definitely 5/5. Anyway, you are my favourite booktuber 🥰🥰
i read some of your recommendations and my favorite is The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo ♥️ it broke my heart so bad that i actually felt gabe exists. thank you for your recs♥️
My number one was A Five Minute Life 🤣🙈 I know you didn’t love it but I’m a dementia/memory care nurse and it really spoke to me! I also loved The Heartache & Hope duet by Jay McLean, The Guy on the Left and The Guy on the Right by Kate Stewart, and Landon & Shay by Brittainy C Cherry 💕💕💕
Thanks for ur recs, all sound great, nice to put'em in my TBR list. Top ten i read in 2019 are (mostly in indonesian translation): 10. One of Us is Lying (Karen M. Macmanus) 9. Long Way Down (Jason Reynolds) 8. Drowning Girls (Paula Treick DeBoard) 7. The Fugitive (Boone Series John Grisam) 6. The Book of Mirrors (E.O. Chirovici) 5. Force of Nature (Jane Harper) 4. No Exit (Taylor Adams) 3. Sycamore Row (John Grisham) 2. Holy Mother (Rikako Akiyoshi) 1. The Dry (Jane Harper)
I really like how you are so enthusiastic about books. Can you also mention when do you read? I am trying to find some time to read. I am trying to get into reading.
Hi Gabby! I have also read the house at the bottom of the lake and loved how atmospheric it was. But the ending stumped me, I have absolutely no idea what it was trying to say no matter how hard I tried to theorize. I’m just curious what your theory is.
I just watched your vlog yesterday recommending unhoneymooners and guess what, i finished it today and so far its one of my greatest favs. Thanks to you ❤️💕☺️
City of the Lost by Kelly Armstrong was my favorite book this year. This is the first book of a trilogy and honestly all four books are equally AMAZING page turners. I wish I could erase these books from my memory so I could read them all over again. It’s a mystery/thriller/romance trilogy about a secret society living and hiding off the grid in Canada; but there are really bad and scary people lurking in the woods around their community ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, you r a voracious reader. respect. The book I liked the most this year was The Quiet American by Graham Greene. I guess I loved it b/c it was a novel of place - Vietnam, a country I love so much, and Greene was able to capture so well in his writing.
Trying to find new reads, and I always check your reviews to see what I want to read next 😃 but I’ve searched for 2 to add to my shopping cart and they’re not available yet 😩 so now what 🤷🏻♀️
I came here from Kayla's video, because I could not believe I'm not subscribed to someone who has Red, White and Royal Blue AND Top Secret on their favourite list. I rectified the situation.
If you like "the Nightingale", you might enjoy "Beneath the Scarlet Sky" which is also about second world war and I don't like these stories usually but really loved that one (also it IS a true story which makes it even more amazing).
God I really trusted your recommendation. I really got into reading thrillers again and started with silent patient and verity because they were hyped up everywhere. I started watching some of your videos and really liked your reviews and started buying 3 books you recommended all at once. Now after reading The Turn of the Key first I have to say that I don’t trust any of your recommendations anymore because of how much you hyped this book. I gave it a one star review. After the first 100 pages I wanted to stop reading because it was going so slow and it was so boring and everything was described in way to much detail. I gave it a second chance and basically wasted my time! The whole story was so boring and nothing really happened and there were so many things that could’ve written so much better! The ending was so stupid I just can’t. I’m thinking about sending the two other books you recommend back.. I just can’t trust your opinion anymore.

You have really good taste. My favorite 2019 wrap up.
I trust your recs so much and I've read a lot of these but some I haven't yet so I'm so excited to start reading them!!! I loved the unhoneymooners too! Thanks gabby :) Also, can't wait for your next month vlog :P

Just finished the nightingale, I cried and cried! Thank you for the rec and I totally know what scene you're talking about! This book was amazing.

Great energy.. I love your point of view on books.. Great Job..
The silent Patient was everything!!!!
I was surprised you didn’t list City of Girls because you are the reason I read it. You went on and on about that book. The Nightingale was my favorite from your list.
We have same preferences! I don’t really like fantasy so I’m so glad you give constant recommendations of books I would really like!
The nightingale is one of my favorites. I need to read the unhoneymooners I have it on my TBR shelf.
I've binge watched a bunch of your videos the past couple weeks, and I think you're my favorite book tuber in terms of your recommendations! I read the Institute this year, you should read it, it’s sooooo gooodd.
sAINT it’s on my 2020 TBR! 😌
Agreed! This was a very good book.
You should definitely check out Ghoster by Jason Arnopp! It has that “is it real/is it ghosty?” feel throughout!
I still think about Scythe all the time but, of course, I haven't actually read it yet! Maybe in 2020!
I HAVEN'T READ ANY OF THESE :'(
Jay G aw shoot!!! 😱
Looking beautiful Gabby!!!

Btw I’ve read 5 books from this list. Thanks for the recommendations 😊
my top three books of 2019 were Teen Titans: Raven, Imaginary Friend and Daisy Jones and The Six
Will you be reading the second book (undercover bromance) from the bromance book club series?
Karla Gonzalez absolutely!!!! 😍😍😍
I have never met anyone with my name before and to have it be in a book is so cool to me!
The bromance book club sounds cute and all, but trying to understand women by reading romance books seems like a terrible idea to me.
Nil S hahaha I mean yeah it’s a pretty light-hearted thing, it’s not meant to be taken super seriously but the book is just so adorable 😅
top secret and RWRB are definitely my favorites too!
I came here from Kayla's video, because I could not believe I'm not subscribed to someone who has Red, White and Royal Blue AND Top Secret on their favourite list. I rectified the situation.
I loved Someday, Someday! Thank you
I really liked your videos
0:03 my fav rick&morty vibe!! im excited...
How long does it take you usually to finish a book?
You totally need to read The Stand by Stephen King. So good. One of my top three books of all time.
Oh I NEED Someday Someday!!!
If you like "the Nightingale", you might enjoy "Beneath the Scarlet Sky" which is also about second world war and I don't like these stories usually but really loved that one (also it IS a true story which makes it even more amazing).
Hey guys, does anyone mind explaining what TBR is pleaseee?

I agree with all of these loves except Birthday given Meredith Russo's personal actions that have come to light as of late.
Thor Wants Another Letter what happened??
