That's what I said. This hurricane was pretty weaksauce after surviving Ivan. Hell, I stayed downtown for sally. Most of the hurricane, I was down by the water enjoying the show. Anyone who thought it was bad, obviously wasn't from pensacola.
It could have been worse, much, much worse. I lived in Pensacola 2017-2019, off Alcaniz, a lovely town, beaches second to none. My peeps are still there and grateful damage, loss of life, etc., wasn’t worse. Sorry you guys were displaced.
It’s so funny to me that this was in my recommended. I was born and raised in Pensacola but moved to TN in 2015 for school. I’m randomly back in Pensacola to help my grandparents after hurricane sally hit their house pretty bad and this pops up on my homepage. So cool! Interesting video too! Sad to see how everyone was hit so hard with little warning 😥 but Pensacola has such a great community, everyone will get through it together!
This randomly popped up on my feed. Got a friend lives down there. Was kind of neat to see all the things they were talking about. Thanks for that. Hope the wedding went well, circumstances aside.
I had to move away from Pcola last year and I miss it so much! It breaks my heart to see the videos and photos of the aftermath of Sally. I enjoyed your humor out of the situation and loved seeing familiar places again in your video though.
I live in Pensacola and litterally just moved into an apartment a week before Sally and we had zero damage and didn't lose power not even a flicker! I work in Lillian and they got decimated!
Sometimes in Challenges we find our greatest strengths and our worst weaknesses, and to grow further we need our feathers ruffled up a bit. Congrats, Stay Safe !!!!!
looks like my town when Super Storm Sandy hit. didn't ruin any bridges that I know of but the house damage was severe- I'd say 85% of my town is lifted now. glad you guys made it
you don't realize how big the barges are until some drunk parks one in your yard... (u know, went drinking last nite, too much to drink, took a bus home. Kinda fun, I'd never driven a bus before!) 🙀🤣👍
As usual, another great video. The barges, that is just crazy. So many questions about the barges actually. Hard believe happened. Have little to zero knowledge in ref to how could have been prevented from hitting bridges, however, seems something could have took place. IDK. I’m thankful you guys were safe. Love your attitude. Your correct there r times we r reminded and have to accept we really are not in control. Hey the wonderful part and greatest blessing is there still was a wedding!! You and Sam are married! 😎. Even in aftermath of hurricane Sally there was sunshine in your lives. A Great Blessing.
I think we need to sue the company who owned the barges because they spilled oil in the bay they messed a lot of stuff for fishermen and people in Pensacola in general
A few weeks ago driving over 3 mile my wife was like ( what happens to all these barges if theirs a storm? ) I was like ( theve got to be anchored down really well) ... guess not so much lol
Great to see your documentary of Sally. It's been 4 years now that I first saw one of your videos before we came to visit the beautiful land of Pensacola to see the Gulf and do some fishing. You provided some great fishing advise. I hope that Joe Patties gets back up n going. Last I saw they were surrounded by water. Well this year we decided to come in Sept, but were in Panama City when Sally made landfall. What a ride those hurricanes are. My fiance and I hated to see the damage it caused to the your surrounding area. Keep up the good work. BTW Great advise. Life never does go as planned, but with change comes adaptation.
Another insane logistic with this storm was the amount of rain we got! 35+ inches of rainfall in some places around here! It deluged for more than a day straight. I live 2 or so miles from the bay, and houses on the other side of the street we’re getting a foot of water in their houses! I am insanely lucky and I now have a new respect for the power of a hurricane. 🌧
Just found your page. Hurricane Delta may hit us at the end of the week now. I'm over this year! I'm near cantonment and praying these trees don't hit my house by the end of the week.
Just glad you guys are ok. That was a bad one but like you said you have no control ya just have to role with is. The barges was crazy. Good luck on the wedding. Need video. LOL
I live in Pensacola, I have someone in the family that USED to work for Suckska and he spoke with someone who still works there and he said they Did not prepare the night at all for this storm even though they were on the news saying they did prepare for 30 mile winds.
Glad to hear everyone is OK. From personal experience I'd say that the more difficult things are up to the wedding, the longer the marriage will last. On another note, two months ago my wife and I decided to move from New Orleans to Pensacola. Still planning on the move as soon as we get the house here in NOLA sold.
Sally was Ivan’s little sister! She sure snuck in on us. No real damage for us, just 6 days without power, 3 days no water. Very thankful it wasn’t worse.
It is weird how things tend to control our destinies at times in our lives. I few years back I was considering moving to Pensacola, but decided against it. Crazy Ol world we live in.
Dude, you do a fantastic video. I don't remember seeing as good of a news report on Sally. I'm glad you got that marriage thing taken care of in spite of what could have looked like a divine intervention to stop it! I wish you the best my veteran brother...
Please someone that lives in Pensacola, share the progress with the clean up of pensacola. My wife and I visit every year. Were supposed to be there the third week in October. Were staying at the big lagoon state park.
My son and his fiancee were supposed to be married on the 19th but the venue and other vendors had no power so now they're getting married in December.
incompetent contractor. Not many people are any good at their jobs anymore. Captains with the company should have repositioned the barges to a safe cove for the storm.
Rode it out in Orange Beach. Wildest storm I've ever been in. Ivan was bad, but there was warning. Most people were gone. This one snuck up on us. Most people I've talked to, that have the option, have said never again will they stick around. I was posted up on the Perdido Pass bridge (police officer) right up until the eyewall was coming ashore. There was a radar truck next to me that stayed through the whole storm that clocked 132mph wind gusts once the eyewall hit.
Dang Yak! You are right, you pick up and carry on, in a different direction if need be! Can't wait for the wedding video, you can't plan this sh!7. It's an adventure. Good work!
Crazy. People need to start preparing for these storms like tie down your boats and barges. I’m thankfully we only had a jet ski in our yard and not a barge.
So funny thing about this video is that it shows a section of property off Bayshore drive. The significance of that is years ago when Ivan hit Pensacola, i cleared property on Bayshore Drive. The VERY PROPERTY where that barge is sitting!!! I need more aerial of that scene PLEASE.
We plan to move to pensacola area but more north. How long did it take for the power to come back? We are looking towards moving right at the FL/AL border. But want to make sure we will be somewhat safe if a Hurricane hits. I am from Jersey and it took 2+ weeks for power to come back during Sandy.
Most of us just visit these places thinking how lucky these people are that get to live by the ocean. This is the unfortunate reality for them. Just the 3 mile bridge being down is gonna mess up things for quite some time.
Tuesday and Wednesday was soooooo much fun.....not really. I live off of Blue Angel and the traffic was terrible after Sally passed. We weren’t prepared and we all underestimated what was gonna happen. We didn’t have power for 3 days and literally had to throw away all the groceries we’d just bought. We’re still here though and that’s all that matters.
Crazy to see the barges and destruction. We are planning a trip there soon. What is the mask situation like there? Can you move about freely without one? Food establishments etc?
I think the bridge builders need to pay everyone affected by the barges! I used to be an offshore boat captain and before storms we would go out and tie up barges so this would not happen. That's how I know exactly what I'm talking about! 100% of this could have been avoided! Have a Blessed day-
Hurricane Sally: I destroyed Pensacola!
Hurricane Ivan: That's so cute, amateur.
Exactly
That's what I said. This hurricane was pretty weaksauce after surviving Ivan. Hell, I stayed downtown for sally. Most of the hurricane, I was down by the water enjoying the show. Anyone who thought it was bad, obviously wasn't from pensacola.
Some people see a barge in their backyard - I see the base for my new pontoon party boat.
Yeah I've lived in Pensacola my whole life, we weren't quite prepared for Sally to be this bad.
It was how long it lasted that was the annoyance. XD
It could have been worse, much, much worse. I lived in Pensacola 2017-2019, off Alcaniz, a lovely town, beaches second to none. My peeps are still there and grateful damage, loss of life, etc., wasn’t worse. Sorry you guys were displaced.

Dogs are so resourceful! They take everything in stride & deal with it. Bella is beautiful!
You have a great attitude about the whole ordeal. Most people would have lost their minds over the timing of Hurricane Sally.
Thanks for posting! Love you guys. Always positive, even while faced with so much adversity.
Thanks Mike!
This randomly popped up on my feed. Got a friend lives down there. Was kind of neat to see all the things they were talking about. Thanks for that. Hope the wedding went well, circumstances aside.

true survivors to get through a hurricane and the logistics of a wedding and the rest; got to think all will be well in pennsacola fl
I live in Pensacola and litterally just moved into an apartment a week before Sally and we had zero damage and didn't lose power not even a flicker! I work in Lillian and they got decimated!

Well said! Thanks!
Staying POSITIVE,ATTITUDES. GREAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS.YOU CAN OVER COME PRETTY MUCH ALL THAT LIFE THROWS AT YOU.CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH.
thats one lucky house, can you imagine all the lawsuits that barge company is gonna have
I'm wondering who had the contract that authorized the barges.. (u know how pass the buck is played) But I see all of you are grinning... 🥳🥰👍😊😎🇺🇲
@Barack in Chicago HAH! You're not in Chicago anymore Toto. Welcome to Fla. 🙀😖👍😎
Well it could of been worse it could of taken out the house instead of parking itself in their yard! 😏😏😏😏😏😏
I appreciate you documenting all this, this hit us pretty hard... I got flooded into my house for 4 days..
Wow! That is the great thing about a VLOG. You are capturing life as it happens.
looks like my town when Super Storm Sandy hit. didn't ruin any bridges that I know of but the house damage was severe- I'd say 85% of my town is lifted now. glad you guys made it
Thanks Robert!
Your attitude is inspirational! Thanks
Glad you think so!
A great example of American optimism! Way to go!
Thanks for watching everyone! What do you think about all these barges?
you don't realize how big the barges are until some drunk parks one in your yard... (u know, went drinking last nite, too much to drink, took a bus home. Kinda fun, I'd never driven a bus before!) 🙀🤣👍
That’s nuckin futs!

Yep we got absolutely destroyed. Our roof is messed up and big ass hole and ceiling was leaking and I almost died twice and we were hit by a tornado.
I am in Pensacola also. My poor neighborhood is destroyed. No one was prepared for Sally.
Great to see your documentary of Sally. It's been 4 years now that I first saw one of your videos before we came to visit the beautiful land of Pensacola to see the Gulf and do some fishing. Congratulations on yalls wedding buddy! Keeping yall and the rest of florida in our prayers.
Thanks so much
@@YakMotley Your welcome cowboy.

Great video. I love my hometown but this is why I passed on moving back. Hurricane central city. Still praying for my hometown🙏🏽
The company who owns those barges and the company who was building the bridge is going to PAY!!
The bridge company won the law suite.
i live in pace florida that hurricane was something else.
What ever bruv
So glad it all worked out! Can’t wait for the wedding episode. You guys just role with the punches. You’ll come out strong.
Just found your page. Hurricane Delta may hit us at the end of the week now. I'm over this year! I'm near cantonment and praying these trees don't hit my house by the end of the week.

I heard Sheriff Morgan say, "we have even talked to the Navy about dropping ordnance on the barge." I couldn't believe it. Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching Micheal!

Glad you wer safe looks terrible down there with all the damage be safe my friend God bless you and Samantha
Glad your ok thanks for sharing Jack!
Thanks 👍
Why didn’t they sink the barges? We always put the barge on the bottom. It’s nothing to raise one that is fresh and not in the mud.
I live off Dog Track Rd and the office I work out of is in Gulf Breeze. I'm glad we have work from home at the moment.
We will have to deal with the aftermath now. Months of shitty traffic from Navarre to Pensacola.
Was there ever not shitty traffic from Navarre to Pensacola?
Charlie Vanlandingham yeah, you’re right about that!
Dude, you do a fantastic video. I don't remember seeing as good of a news report on Sally. I'm glad you got that marriage thing taken care of in spite of what could have looked like a divine intervention to stop it! I wish you the best my veteran brother...
Thanks Ed!

Humans plan, God laughs.
This is absolutely EPIC!!! I'm proud to know you!
Thanks!
I posted this in the other video as well : There is always a risk to build towns and cities close to shore. I hope there were no casualties.
Yes he said "rurnt". Look it up !
Glenn Caswell it’s a southern thing.
That dadgum thing out yonder is rurnt.
Long time J! Look at you broski! Keep up good work broski. Congratulations to you and your new family!!
That is insane. Glad y'all are ok.
I live in Myrtle Grove Here in Pensacola and it took 3 days to get the trees cleared just so you could get down Lillian Hwy.
All I'm hearing is that Hurricane Sally is Samantha's fault.
My son and his fiancee were supposed to be married on the 19th but the venue and other vendors had no power so now they're getting married in December.
Thank you and good luck. Really great attitude.
Thanks!
This is EXACTLY why I haven't made doc appts yet. All my doctors are in pcola.Navarre got pretty flooded.
Our Creator always in charge ... your a believable. Great Video
***Everyone would have to go around to Quintette Rd***
...If the I10 bridge got damaged.
great video brother!
-D
Thanks for watching!
We were all caught off guard for sure! #PensacolaStrong
Good video. We lucked out while two trees fell fortunately they just missed out house and shop.
incompetent contractor. Not many people are any good at their jobs anymore. Captains with the company should have repositioned the barges to a safe cove for the storm.
Yep. Life is an adventure. You have a great attitude.
I live in Pensacola and it was really crazy
And then Pensacola freaked out hearing about Delta. XD Wooooo we lucked out on that one.
thank god your family is safe good luck
I got lucky. I didn't end up with any damage to my house. Just a huge part of one of my trees split.
Rode it out in Orange Beach. Wildest storm I've ever been in. Ivan was bad, but there was warning. Most people were gone. This one snuck up on us. Congrats on getting your wedding done there. Just seems like yesterday i was wondering when you two were going to get married 👍🇺🇸
Beautiful pup! Be safe man!
Great video! Love those aerials man!! Lol
Thanks! 👍
Yak you are a Great Man, God Bless !
“The Legendary Motley Nuptial Experience” should be the title of your next vlog!
Glad you guys made it through safe!!
Congrats on the wedding!!
What software do you use to edit your videos?

I love how positive you are. I live in Pace .Great video
Thank you! 😊
Jack all ways remember "God has your back" ! No matter what happens in life.
We had just walked 3 mile on Sunday 😅 looks like we're not doing that anytime soon.
Amazing video Yak, great info too. thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great attitude. It will make you stronger..
Air Force: hey we need some flight hours this month to stay current...
Sheriff: *You son of a bitch.. I'm in!*
Most of us just visit these places thinking how lucky these people are that get to live by the ocean. This is the unfortunate reality for them. Just the 3 mile bridge being down is gonna mess up things for quite some time.
It didn't seem that bad off 9 mile near UWF. Driving that night though it was almost completely dark. Very eerie ...
That’s right Yak, sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride lol 👌 you’ll have lots of good story’s from this 😊👍👍👍

I live in Navarre we were hit pretty hard but not that hard... The barges getting lose is nuts.
I think the pop-up would make a nice temporary office
Your right!
Glad you guys are ok.
I'm here 6 days no power!!!!! Sickkkkk
Olive Road got thrashed near Cody Ln. Hope y'all are doing well.
Dude! Hate that for you and Brant. Hope the relocate goes well.
Thank you!
Yep part of the 3 mile bridge was destroyed
Sally, you broke that bridge, all that money is coming out of your paycheck!
It’s been busier on 90 lately coming into Pace
