In the first challenge, the reason why there was a lot of oxygen in the air was because of your O2 system which tried to compensate for reduced breathability caused by low pressure after the event. Breathable composition of air changes with pressure, requiring higher portion of oxygen in the air when there is low pressure. The O2 system recognised that and raised the portion of O2 in the air.
