- After a long break for a multitude of reasons, we are finally back to building the addition on our mobile home. Ben is finishing up the forms for the block wall footer, and we wait to hear from the inspector if it passes or fails and if we can pour concrete.

You know what? As long as you and Meg are taking care of business, you don't owe us an explanation of why you're not doing this or that. It's your life!
Amen
It’s wonderful that you took time off to enjoy your family. You will never regret that.
That is so sweet you got to have that time with Elizabeth! She will be the one who comes to play cards with you, make you soup, and tuck you in when you are old.
Yay! You passed inspection. Now, for the next step. I wish you well.
Ben, I've watched you since day one. This intro made me cry. Shop talk (which l watche diligently) hasn't notified me. Its Friday RIGHT ? If anyone hasn't watched their trip from Cali it's worth every vid. the build. Omg. Awesome! I miss when you are not on, but SOO glad you took off with Meg. Love you all & subscribe viewers. Irs worth it.
I’m excited you have the green light for the addition! Yay!
Family first. We’ll wait 😊🙏🏻🥰
Elizabeth takes precedent right now. Happy you had the opportunity to just sit, bond and snuggle the new little person. It will be great watching you continue the build, things in life usually happen when they are supposed to, and this is the time to start again. Glad you’re back.
🎉 SO great you passed the inspection. One step closer. 😊
Taking time off during these moments are priceless. Don’t be to hard on yourself about the projects there’s always projects💚 thank you all you do.
Oh thank goodness you passed inspection!
Sweet. The build is on! Congrats on passing inspection. Nice for girls to have their own room.
Dear Ben , there is no pressure . I realise that both you & Meg would like the extra room . However, Rome was not built in a day 😊 . The fact that you felt able to take this time will give you all memories you will never forget . Loved the fact that you and the foreman Buggy got to restart the project together . I can just see her as a wagon train leader in the Old West . All your children have an impressive work ethic , even Elizabeth providing all those precious snuggles❤❤ to raise your spirits . God Bless . Stay cool .
So thankful for your good news. Prayers and blessings to you all. ❤
I just have to say how entirely cool it is that the BOYS have their own door!! How they must love it! Whoever thought of that.... You know what you are doing. It is so easy to see that that incredible barn is the spill over for so many things, including the BOYS living room, entertainment retreat, etc. Well done, as always..........
Thank you for this update video on the new build! It’s good you are going one step at a time. A new baby is a lot of work. Cuddling and resting time with new baby is a good thing. Gardening is important! Getting things up for an inspection comes when you have time. Great on your progress! Enjoy your food and baby and look forward to concrete. Five years from now this will all be history. God bless!!
Meg, you don't have to show a whole vid on cooking. We'd be happy to see you kneading bread dough. Just set the tripod up. No talking necessary! Love to all & many prayers 🙏🏻 ❤️ Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻
Honestly??? Asking Meg to do a kneading video???? She's just had a baby for pete's sake!!!!!
It seems to me, that great dads are much harder to come by these days than passing an inspection. Good on you, Ben, for putting your family first. I'm glad you passed your inspection & construction can get going again, but I'm the happiest for you... AND your family, to have had time together & to enjoy your little Elizabeth. There are no do-overs when it comes to enjoying your kids while you can. They're only young once. God bless the whole Hollar family. You & Meg have your priorities straight. I admire that more than I can say. ❤❤🙏🙏
There’s one thing that’s more important than making a video….. family. Enjoy the time together and enjoy the new baby, they don’t stay small long. God bless
Happy the build is going to get done, Yes Baby comes first glad you had time enjoying her ,
It's admirable that you want to take time to be present with your wife and new born. Those are precious moments that you can never get back. The addition will be exciting to watch when it happens and I'm sure, a great relief for your family!
I love all The Hollar Homestead videos!
I just love your family and am so glad y’all have returned to making videos again. You have been missed Elizabeth is so sweet and dainty The boys seem to enjoy holding and loving on her while mom and dad do garden and cooking, and all things putting up garden produce. God Bless your family and have good health and wealth for your family.
Paternity leave is important. Glad you took the time. Congratulations on passing the footing inspection.
Awesome! Enjoy the process and ignore the haters and nitpickers! Grow! -Mike
You deserve a break, and you don't owe anyone an explanation. They grow fast. Enjoy them while they are home. My parents also had 6 kids. 4 boys, very active and always looking for an adventure...then I was born, and my sister came 7 years later. 4 boys, 2 girls, same as you. I LOVED my older brothers..they always took care of me....then sister came along and she bugged me. My brothers , the oldest was 21 years older than sis, and the others were gone pretty soon . Oldest is now gone, the next one is now 82 and I'm 69. So we are all old. Hugs to all of you
Hi Ben I truly am happy for you passing the inspection. I noticed in the comments for your previous video how many persons kept asking about the add on. I'd just like to say " none of your business, when Ben's ready he will let us know." Sometimes we (some of us) can be so nosy and pushy.
Family quality time you and the family deserve it!
Enjoy your family! Live, laugh, love!
Glad to see the build continues!! 🙌🙌
Oh my God I’ve been waiting for this day. You need to make your videos longer. I feel like they’re too short lov watching you n family pull it together n get work DONE!!!!
Hi It was great getting to see you getting back at the new part of your home. YAY.
The best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time, as we all know. I'm happy to see you and Buggie are back at it! Bon appétite!
Love you guys! ❤
I’ve had a lot of babies, and taking the time to just “be” is so SO important. I’m so glad that you have done that.
So happy to see yall back. So happy yall took time off to spend with your family. Those boys are growing up so fast. They will be gone before you know. God bless yall.
I am looking forward to your porch and y'all enjoying a thunderstorm.
Congratulations on the inspection.
What a sweet time in your life. I'm so glad you took the time to spend with sweet little newborn and support Meg. Also, what a great example for your other kids. Family is the reason for everything else.
So exciting to see the build go forward. You are going to love your new bedroom, pantry and hopefully a little mud room for all the coats and boots.
I predict Buggy having her own channel and homestead, doing all the things.
What a blessing that you could take the time off for Meg and the baby especially and for you! ❤🙏
Yay!! Thank you for taking us on this journey with you!
Fantastic...inspection passed!!!!!!!🎉 Now is when the fun starts. It's a lot of work, but thinking about increasing living space AND a nice deck to enjoy outside will make the work exciting and eager to complete!!!!! Glad you had time off with Elizabeth Rose though! The way I see it, May was just too wet and muddy anyway to build. Now will be perfect to do some building!!!
So happy you passed the inspection. Exciting to get going on the build.
Ben I didn't want you to feel pressured to get back to the building project b/c I agreed the new baby and all the family were your priorities as they needed to be. I am sorry ppl kept nagging you about going back to the project. Plus working in that nasty heat isn't healthy. Just FYI it was 115 here in CA confirming your choice to move.
I live in California too which is a huge state and it wasn’t 115 on the coast.
Just to say that our personal experiences in life are but a small piece of the whole that is life.
On July 5th Raleigh-Durham had temps of 106 F and once humidity was factored in it was at 117.8 F. The hottest day on record.
We have had another record breaking summer the world over.
Yay! Glad you'll be able to move forward. SO exciting for your growing family!
Yayyyyyyy you got the green light!!
Maybe you could find yourself a large portable barn fan and set it up near where you are working. I used to set up a 4-ft fan to blow on me when I was working in the shop on my farm and it truly makes a huge difference just to have that air flowing on you when it is very hot. Anyway, glad to see you're back on the build project.
Great glad you passed the inspection take care see Y'ALL next time.😊
I believe taking the time off to be with Meg, and your new born was important. The construction will get done on your schedule😊
Family first!!! Hugs!
He is home 24/7! No getting in the car, going to work for 8-10 hours a day. I can’t stand the thought of being locked in for six month doing little to nothing. But each to their own 😊
@@miephoex He was doing something. He was bonding with his family. What difference does a month make in the scheme of things. But like you say, to each his own.
Ben spending time with the family n bonding with the baby is wonderful, not many get that opportunity. The build will be there. ❤.
We got 2.7 inches of desperately needed rain here today......
So exciting! I've been quietly and patiently been waiting.
Those inspectors are so helpful. They preach the best practices for a well built building that will last you safely. They give out great information. Happy to see you back on the project. The boys are going to learn so much from this to carry them forward in life. I hope you are able to get it enclosed before the end of this year. It ain't cheap and summer heat limits your time.
Good to see you all again. Congratulations!❤
Glad you're back in business 😊 This is the stuff I really enjoy. See you next time.
My daughter told me you posted, so here I am, I was looking through the comments and she already commented! We’re definitely Hollar Hounds.
That’s too cute ! HOLLAR HOUNDS 😂😂 😂😂😂👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Congratulations !! Looking forward to seeing you pour the concrete.
Yippee!! More build episodes. I am looking forward to seeing the expanded space for your family. As you know, you made the right decision to make time for family. 😊
So excited for the addition!! You do amazing work!! 🙏
Super sweet to be back to the build. Love watching you work, Ben!
great news that you passed inspection:) Ben you c Ould just sit the. camera cup and do Timelapse we would watch it:) love your videos because it real life and not staged:)
Ben and Meg, congratulations on your new addition to the family Ben, congratulations on your inspection. It went with flying colors Ben, make sure the boys don't play in the concrete and get it all over themselves and everywhere else. 🧰🪣🔨⚒️ Ben it's okay to take time off when you have a new addition to the family. Again Ben and Meg, congratulations on the new addition to the family. (Ben, it's okay 👍❗❗❗)❗❗❗👏👍
So exciting! Glad you get to get back to it! There is a time and season for all things! This was your time to enjoy that sweet baby!
Ben, time spent bonding with your family and rebuilding your body is a huge SOMETHING! You and Meg both deserve some downtime. Congratulations on your newest addition to your lovely family!🎉❤😁🌻
Love your blonde highlights! You don’t need to explain I think having not been with your other children when they were born, you deserve time with your new addition.
It’s always a relief to pass inspections & able to go to the next step! Maybe consider tarping the stepped form area until you pour concrete to avoid any more rain wash outs or stepping on the forms..
I miss growing the Blue Dream! Definitely need to add that to my garden next year. Looking good Rando!
🌳✌️😃🌳
And I am impressed by your dedication and craftsmanship in documenting the highs and lows of your home addition build in Recap 5. Your meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills shine through, inspiring others with your perseverance and creativity. Your commitment to quality and passion for construction are truly commendable. And I am Floating Village Life
Ben I think it is great you took time off to be with the family and I am sure Meg appreciated it very much and so did the rest of the family. Congratulations on passing the inspection, now it is all systems go..... Have a great day Holler family.
Happy for you, that you can proceed; thanks for sharing. It was time well spent with your family while they are young. Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
I’m so excited about your build. I love watching the structure coming together and seeing how you will decorate the rooms. Your new baby is adorable like her older siblings.
Y'all are doing great! Our projects are so far behind here in Wisconsin. In June we received close to 16" of rain, making it hard to get anything done.
You guys deserve to take a break every now and then. God bless y'all and have a great day!
Yay, Ben! Congrats on passing the inspection! Great to take time with sweet baby and also great to get your project moving along. That feeling of accomplishment is important and can give so much momentum. All the best to you folks.
Thanks for letting us visit
Loved the surprise little one and sure understand the hiatus from the build but oooo, I thrive on building videos! Can't wait to see build!!
Progress is always good.
It's amazing how much additional time it takes AFTER you think you've got everything done. Keep plugging away!!
Yeah!! So excited to watch the addition videos!!!
Cool. Hope Jack, and Tyler are ready for some hard work moving cement.
I'm so glad you took the time off to just soak in the joy of your new little angel and all of your family! You have so many plates juggling sometimes, it's easy to forget to give yourself time to just BE. Congratulations on passing inspection, looking forward to watching the house addition take shape!
Hey Hollers 👋, there is no sin in being a Dad❤.
Whoo Hoo 🎉.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Watching from NC.
So happy for you that you were able to take the time, all's good we know it's ruff having a newborn no explanation needed. It's so good to see y'all again many blessings and much luck with the build.
I'm so glad you took the time off. Good for you. Good for your family. Congratulations.
Ok, we have been busy and so get back to it. You spent time out, and now the kids are ready to hope. You need to get forms ready.
I've been waiting for the building to start back up. Exciting. Please be careful in heat Ben and all the family. It's serious this year.
I am very excited for your being given the go ahead.for your cement work. Congratulations.
Congratulations ❤❤ I absolutely love you guys, and I'm so happy to see how much the girls are growing ❤️ I also find joy and gain some knowledge watching your videos ❤ You owe NO explanations for anything. May God continue to bless and watch over you and your beautiful family 🙏✨️ So happy to see everything and continue to GROW😊❤❤
🎉🎉🎉 hoorah for the pass!!
🎉🎉YAY🎉🎉 I was just watching your last video and thinking "what ever happened with the house build?", now I'm excited!😊
Good to see things are ready to move along for your build.
You & Buggy have one word commands down. GROW! STAY!!! You would now be perfect for an outside LGD!
Buggy must just be so thrilled to have a sister!!
Ben, with 5 kids and a working homestead I sincerely doubt that you did "nothing" for the last several weeks 😅
Thanks , as always, for sharing your lives with us!
6 kids
I’m happy you are addressing the foundation again. We are all hoping to see your addition so you can breathe easier with your family!
It's tough that the remodel has not gone so well. I know you can do it. I am very confident in your construction skills! It's hot in the summer and not the greatest time to be in the middle of a construction job! I think it's better to just work on it when it's cooler! Tieing rebar is okay to skip that video taping of it. I remember the sistering of the beams. Do you have to put any gravel below where you are going to pour that concrete? Too bad the rebar for the stepped part of the foundation got undermined by the rain in May! It's sad you have to set-it right all over again. I hope you pass inspection! Yay, you passed the inspection! You can pour! I agree, it's a hot part of the year to be doing this. Stay cool! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
Nice. I'm quite sure that forgetting to start on the shade side first in the morning BEFORE the shade shifts WON'T be forgotten again. Lol.😊
Yes breaks are good but progress on projects is good, too!
Congratulations on the inspection approval.
Great. Thanks for getting back to the addition. With your kids helping you I bet you get it done in a month!!!
Hey glad to hear that your back to business on the addition to the home. May God Bless your family with this build.
Ha Ha it's been so long I had forgot you adding on. I like watching you build things.
I really look forward to seeing this project on the move again. maybe y'all will be able to get the room completed before winter. Thanks for sharing. Have a Blessed day.
I'm glad you got some time off to enjoy your new baby.
Hope the rest of the addition build goes smoothly.
Yes, we all have been wondering about the build and glad to know that everything is on and ready to go!
