  • In this video I show the unpacking of my land rover defender 110 after traveling more than 20000km and 7 months of overlanding through Southern Africa. I share everything that we packed for this long duration overland trip. I share my thoughts on what I will pack again and what I would leave behind. This is and informational video and the unpacking was filmed in 2019.

    So awesome to see a unique vehicle being used in full! Defender are amazing over-landing vehicles, and it sounds like the adventures you've been on have truly put it to the test. Keep up the amazing work Juba

    Another awesome video!
    Any chance you will be doing a "Budget/expenses" video for the 7 month trip? Wil be great to see how much one should save up before taking on a trip like this.

    I note that the things in the boxes were a bit jumbled up. I can only get by if things have defined locations, by function. However keeping the system going during a long trip needs a lot of discipline (which can be a source of friction with your travel partner if you don't think alike on this).
    Informative video.

    Fascinated with just how much stuff you packed into that Landy. Hey you didn't carry enough spices though ..... I would have had tons of curry powder and peri peri in my kitchen supplies LOL. Another helpful and wonderful episode - thank you!

    Hi Juba. Great work !
    Question: isn’t there a rule that when on the Botswana side of kgalagadi TP you have to be at least two vehicles ? Obviously you were on your own. Hear anything about that rule at all ?

    • @JubasJourney
      @JubasJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan, the Mabuasehube trail (northern trail) which can only be driven from Mabua to South Africa (east to west) is where you have to more than 1 vehicle. The two trail between Nossob and Mabua (Boso-trail) can be driven alone, although not recommended if you are not familiar with 4x4 driving.

    7months and 20k? Lower than what I expected.

    • @JubasJourney
      @JubasJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we tried to stay in places long enough to really experience the area, rather than just rushing through. Also with fuel cost being one of our big expenses, it makes more sense to stay parked and explore on foot for longer periods.

  • @johnstewart645

    Hey Buddy Very useful going through the Mkulu, I take it that you and Jacke like spices!! Only addition we tagged to our trailer and car is pepper spray, just in case and small and handy!! Looking at doing extended stay n Gonarezhou, you ever been there or fancy it? Love the videos and their content, just the right level. Looking forward to the next set, where is next and when?

    • @JubasJourney
      @JubasJourney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. Yes too much spices, haha. We actually did carry pepper spray, not sure why I did not film it, or where it was. We have one bottle in the front and one in the back. Never been to Gonarezhou. My next video will explain exactly what is going to happen on this channel going forward. Next video will be out within the next two weeks and after that there will be new videos almost every week for the next couple of months. Thanks for the support!
