I don't know what they use, the connectors look dry, but there is a layer of something unknown on the surface. And this prevents the gold from settling out of the solution. As far as I understand, manufacturers use this to prevent accidental electrostatic discharge, for example, when we pet cats, sometimes electrostatic discharges occur 🙂
The electrolyte is diluted concentrated sulfuric acid. One part acid and three to four parts water. The amount of water depends on the concentration of your acid 🙂

Спасибо за совет. Гидроксида натрия NaOH у меня целое ведро 🙂
@akgoldbear7669 В гидроксид натрия можно добавлять немного спирта или водки (50-100 мл), в зависимости от объема
