Dominique has to be a "master" in every sense of the word. For me... everything he creates, seems to be resistant to obsolescence and I love that. He does iris so well too. Great vid. Have to get my nose on Aksoum.
He's an iconic perfumer. I love this concept of exploring lesser known works and hope it does well so you can do more of these in the future. I know it would probably be hard for you to do, but it would be cool to have a Scent Club kit that explored a specific perfumer. I totally get it if that's just too complicated, just thought I'd throw it out there. Thanks for all you do for us!
A good idea. Let's see if it's capable! Already featured Vanagloria from him. Were there more? I can't seem to remember off the top of my head. I think Vanagloria was the only one! :)
@ThePerfumeGuy I think it's the only one in the main series Scent Club kits. He did a couple in Mystery Boxes (BDK Vanille Leather and Jusbox Visionary Eye). I think that's it. He's done so many it's hard to keep up.
I recently sampled LÀ-BAS from Régime des Fleurs and will be purchasing a full bottle. A stunning rose, smoky patchouli and leathery fragrance by Dominique Ropion.
I love Givenchy Amarige. The dry down is to die for! I just love the way the nozzle smells. If I could find a perfume with that single last, dry down note... If anyone could help me identify it, I would be most grateful!
One of the best perfumer ever. He did Alien for Mugler, Jungle Elephant by Kenzo, Amarige by Givenchy for the designers. So a big fan of this perfumer. Thank you for the video.
I got a sample of Carine when I was in the UK in December 23, never tested it until I left the country, and boy do I regret it now. Holding on to my sample until I go back to London.
Following your suggestions, I purchased full bottles of Vanagloria, D'orsay EQ, and Visionary Eye.....SO good! Dominique Ropion is definitely a favorite of mine!!!
If you want a softer side of Dominique Ropion try Peau de Soie from Starck Perfume. Powder with some musk and hint of jasmine, it's pretty much a skin scent.
Definitely one of my fav perfumers. I have Babycat, Portrait Of A Lady, Carnal Flower, & Vanagloria. As embarrassing as it sounds, I’m on my 3rd bottle of Vanagloria 😮💨 I cannot get enough of that stuff
I love the Astier de Villatte store in Paris! I can't remember how I found out about it - visited before the pandemic. I was so scared to break things in the shop. Their fragrances, incense, and candles are available in the U.S. from the John Derian store, along with some of the ceramics. I'm not sure if they carry the whole line of fragrances, though.
Brit Rhythm for Him Intense, unfortunately now discontinued is magic in a bottle. Completely unique while having a familiar base note of tonka. Ropion out did himself on this. I've never failed to be complimented when I wear this while in a business suit with tie. It just WORKS! If you cam !
Thank you for this video on one of my favorite perfumers I believe that PENHALIGONS EAU THE AUDACITY Which I haven’t yet smelled ; but I Have a two mil sample of BABY CAT. I’ve also seen several 😢videos, where TH-camrs have suggested this fragrance as another replacement for LE VESTIARE DE PARFUMS COLLECTION BABY CAT . Dominique ROPIAN HAS ALSO CREATED THIS SIMILAR SMELLING FRARANCE.Since it is so hard to find in the United States, or is not it’s not available in United States. I plan on adding the pen Halligans fragrance to my collection and that way I’m done I’m not having to try to track down something I can’t get take care and keep up the great work Sebastian. Dawnetc 🙏🌅❤️
Thank you for the video about this master perfumer , I love Baby Cat ( and The Audacity) . I’m very interesting about The Portrait of The Lady and Malamata.
Need to try Les Nuits, Coup D'Etat and Oud Aquilaria. I remember the bottles of MILES WAMBAUGH are inspired in a shotgun. Thanks for the list Sebastian!!!
Thank you! Some of these sound so intriguing! The Riene de Saba Aksoum cap (gorgeous!) reminds me of Kenzo Elephant cap style-wise. I’d love to test that one.

I looove violet scents! I took a chance on Violet Shot after running out of my beloved Quelques Violettes. It’s soo good! 🤩

Great video and I enjoyed it and me and my wife are going to try these fragrances and have a blessed day
Sebastian, try CARINE ROITFELD FORGIVE ME! I loved it! It is Carnal Flower but instead of coconut it got patchouli. One sexy scent!
I hope to dig into the house very soon.
I recently sampled LÀ-BAS from Régime des Fleurs and will be purchasing a full bottle. A stunning rose, smoky patchouli and leathery fragrance by Dominique Ropion.
I really like another Dominic Ropion perfume - Impression Rose Oil Isparta from Ostens. It is a very beautiful perfume.
Agreed! He does roses and florals really well.
I love Givenchy Amarige. The dry down is to die for! I just love the way the nozzle smells. If I could find a perfume with that single last, dry down note... If anyone could help me identify it, I would be most grateful!
I love Amarige as well. Just divine

Malamata sounds amazing
Great catalogue of fragrances. I only have the very popular Portrait of a Lady.
I got a sample of Carine when I was in the UK in December 23, never tested it until I left the country, and boy do I regret it now. Holding on to my sample until I go back to London.
If you’re in the US, the store Arielle Shoshana carries Carine.
I think he stand out on Costume National " Homme" and " Portrait of a lady" . Very good perfumer.

Don't be embarrassed. I have gone through 3 bottles of Vanagloria as well! Love that stuff.

That store is wonderful to visit with the most gorgeous ceramics. But I mostly go there for their perfumes! :)
But of course! 😂😊
Ysl lhomme intense. Masterpiece!

Costume National Soul is also very underrated.
Ropion has created some fragrances for Navitus Parfums. I haven’t tried any of the scents. I just wanted to let you know.
Great video!

Great Sebastian! Amazing to see D’ORSAY with EQ!
Hello!!
My coworker smelled infinite sky on me he asked what I was wearing and got the fragrance soon thereafter
