Agreed. I bought a brand new condo in Calgary once my husband passed and it was a nightmare. Our complex even made the news because of some bs with Cardel screwing us over on the build. I sold that thing ASAP and will never do it again.

It's good price but what gets ya is the condo fees they may be double the price of the mortgage based on the age of the building and all the repairs needed

$160.000 for a one bedroom apartment style condo. Your better off buying a small yacht and moving to the coast. At that price for what you get is a joke. Especially the hot water heating elements that is situated right under the patio door, which may explode if you leave the door open in winter.
TBH If I had that money kicking around the last place I would dump it is in that suite.
Have fun selling it after you decide to buy a bigger place. With the way the housing market is now you would most likely have to take a hit and sell the place for under market value just to get out of the joint and move on. Anyone who has a sober mind would not sign a mortgage for that amount.
You will end up paying three times that amount when your done with the mortgage payments. So in actuality you bought the place for market value of $160.000 and end up paying $480- ish thousand dollars.
But anyway its only money…..right?
