GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.

    The ONLY thing this vehicle needed was apple carplay. The fact that it lacks the “tech” that other competitors may have is THE POINT of this SUV. It’s meant to be reliable and versatile, and some luxuriousness with high quality materials. Thats IT! Lexus purposely delayed updating the LX for as long as they could. Anyone who owns one of these understands that the MPG blows, but thats called the “reliability tax”. This truly is an important vehicle and most of you will never know it. I will truly miss this SUV. I don’t care for anything with a twin turbo V6 with a 10 speed. Been there done that. No thanks!
    I also miss your GX. I almost bought it. Was an issue on my end unaccounted for. Topher is as nice of a person as he is on his videos. Thats why this is one of my favorite channels for sure.

    Am I the only one that thinks there are too many trade offs for reliability? I’d buy a Tahoe and an old V8 4Runner instead.

    • @garrettw99
      @garrettw99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jonathan Losito that’s true, if you need to go off road this is a great option. But my point is that you give up too many things for the sake of reliability and off road capability. Most people will be mall-crawling anyways, and the Tahoe won’t likely be a disposable money pit like, for example, Mercedes GLS will probably be.
      The Tahoe will likely be somewhat reliable if history tells us anything. I’d rather have a nice-driving and modern interior than a car that feels 10 years old and doesn’t have CarPlay (doesn’t look like an aftermarket head unit can be added). I won’t keep my car for 300k miles anyways. And the Tahoe starts at a much cheaper MSRP before loads of incentives. You’d need to have $10k+ in repairs on the Tahoe to match total ownership cost of the Lexus. And then there’s the fact that the Lexus gets worse MPG than the Tahoe. I’m saying this as a person that has owned 4 Toyotas and 0 GM products.
